Standard engine has forged pistons so it's good for 250bhp. Watch out for lift-off-oversteer and any bump/hole/object more than 5mm in height on the road
Late af to this, but you're right. Torque steer is strong in this car. Little bumps send it away. That's part of the fun, really. You have to pay attention to the car when you push it ;D

I leased a brand new Abarth 595 Turismo last year, and it was a bit crap. Multiple rattles under the left side of the steering wheel after a few hundred miles, poor ride quality on the motorway, loud cabin, cheap feeling materials throughout. Didn't feel as nimble as a Cooper S in the city either - the turning circle was massive for such a little car.
I'm very late to this, but you get what you pay for with these cars. I daily drive mine, even in an extremely cold climate. I've only added a rear sway bar, better rubber, and a go-pedal, and it's incredibly fun and the sound, omg the sound. Yes it rattles, yes the materials are shite. I have to agree with the turning radius too, it's extremely wide, due to the wheel width / wheelwell size ratio. Luckily it's small enough that a 3-point turn is enough to turn around in most scenarios. But throwing the car around turns, blasting off red lights, downshifting and opening her up is such a blast, more fun than any car I've driven. Had a go at a corvette off a stoplight the other day, lost miserably but I know I had more fun.
The Abarth cars are good since they're made for the enthusiast. Regular 500s are still good cars, but they're quite dull and carry the stigma of being a "girls" car (which is toss). Mini's suffer from exactly the same issue. The Cooper S and JCWs are amazing weapons, but the regular Cooper and One bring the rest of the brand down. It's a shame really
The car has an exhaust that can alternate between closed and open. This is running on open in the video, as the tune is designed for it to run on open, increasing response and power, but the car can be driven perfectly fine on closed, with a slight response and power loss.
