For the last 10 years I’ve been using nose pillows thinking I was utilizing my cpap properly. Going to doctors telling me all looked good after reading sd card. All to find out my girlfriend told me I was losing air out of my mouth. Funny part was I never felt any better on cpap but thought all was fine cause doctors never said anything. I was fatigued, exhausemted, and was going through all kinds of testing for other things, even considering going onto testosterone. Low and behold my girlfriend found your channel, I listened, used a modified chin strap, and viola!!!! I felt amazing. Still some issues w/ nasal congestion but much better. A week later still freaking amazing. Bought a f30 and I’m using it tonight first time. So hopeful this will be even better. It’s a absolute life changer. Doctors never said anything about leaks. But my girlfriend says something, we see your videos, and my life has absolutely been turned around for the better. I thank you. I am a fairly fit dude who has obstructive sleep apnea. And I couldn’t figure it out. 10 years of pure misery. Work outs sucked, labor job sucked, life was horrible, depressed, couldn’t figure out why, blood tests, doctors appointments, for 10 freaking years. All to find out it was my cpap nose pillows. Man I can’t thank you enough. Freaking incredible. 👍🏼👌🏼👏🏼🤙🏼😀 seriously thank you!!!!

Encouraging. Accidentally found this F30 video today after 2 days of going through every Resmed education info and video. Learned more here than any of Resmwd! That fitting piece of paper is &$@$ , everyone appears to me sort of on the line between S and M, useless. Anyway SUPER HELPFUL VIDEO.

Which chin strap you use? I tried one and it sucked, I have an overbite

@@Farfizzle sorry for late reply. I completely stopped using a chin strap. I moved to the resmed airfit f30i size large.
So it’s nose pillow but with lower mouth mask. Honestly it’s the best I found.
I used to use nose pillows cause they weren’t as fucking retarded as face masks. But come to find out I wasn’t getting shit from them. The chin strap worked but that i had made from an elastic thigh wrap. But then it kind of became a pain in the ass.
Knowing I was mouth breathing or better yet air was being forced out of my mouth but I didn’t want a full nose enclosure cause of comfort issues I went with airfit f30i. It’s nose pillows but now I don’t have to worry if I’m breathing out of my mouth. I used to use large wide cushion/mask but ran out and found a large I had and used it and realized that mask was perfect.
So for last I don’t even know how long it’s all I use. I like the port on the head vs face but at times the exhaust air hitting on pillow drives me nuts.
But overall if you’re struggling with the same thing. Run the airfit f30i if the fuckers still make them. These companies change their shit so much it sucks. But I have less apneas and prob the best sleep with that mask. Just sucks cause I like the minimalist nose pillows doesn’t seem so darth gayder. But fuck it man rather have good sleep anymore. Fuck what anyone else says.

I absolutely love my F30. I started with a small mask as well and felt it was too tight around my nose. Once I tried a medium mask, I have been exceptionally pleased. The mask is extremely comfortable and the head gear stays in place and does not leave marks on my face. I have not had any problems with leaks at all. This will be my "go to" mask for years to come.

I’ve been through many masks and the AirFit F30 is my favorite. Part of the reason is that I need to wear a blackout eye mask at night for sleep. Wearing an eye mask can also block stray air occasionally blowing up into your eyes. The mask is effective and pretty comfortable. One downside is that the elbow connector is nigh impossible to clean and likely should be replaced every six months or so.

Thankyou...thankyou...thankyou...you have answered all my questions about the Airfit F30. I had wondered about the F20 and f30 headgear differences and if the cushions were inter-changable. I had been hoping for a mask i could switch to when my bridge of my nose became sore from my Mirage Quatro. After 5 years of sores, bleeding, and pain, i FINALLY (just in the last few weeks) realized i had been tightening the Mirage Quatro too much. I finally adjusted the headgear properly. Now i just use a remzzzs sometimes. i faithfully remove the oils from the cushion and my face before going to sleep. i have even used the same cushion for over a month. i have decided i will try the F30 just so i have a second mask style for comfort. i repeat. my Epiphany was learning to keep the mask as loose as possible without any leaks. I love my Mirage Quatro now and look forward to the F30. i love my cpap after having suffered sleep depprivation for 6 years before i was diagnosed in 2013. Cpap has been my life saver, No more falling asleep while driving, eating, talking, etc.....And i am no longer angry and grouchy. I wish all those who need cpap could find peace and comfort with their machines as i have. Keep up your good work.

i have been using my new Resmed F30 Full Face Mask off and on for a couple of months now, First let me say that my pressure is set for 20 cm. When i wear it all night i start leaking badly around the nose and sometimes under the chin. My face becomes oily while i sleep and my mouth drops open, i am a mouth breather. This is part of my problem. i have experimented with adjusting the headgear in many different ways and cannot get this F30 mask to seal as good as my( Mirage Quatro with remzzzs cloths). However, i cannot use remzzzs with the f30. i really love the new F30 silicone material. i will continue to use the F30 for my naps and occasionally overnight when the bridge of my nose does become a little tender and i will keep trying to adjust the headgear for the optimum leak free fit. i do believe anyone with pressures of 15cm or under would find this mask very comfortable. However, everyone's face is different . Good Luck to all my fellow Cpap users on finding a mask that is best for them. Never give up.

F30 update....after extensive trial and error with positioning and tightening/loosening the F30 headgear, i have found the best fit to eliminate undernose pain and any leaks. I can adjust this mask much looser and it still seals with the new cushion material. The top adjustment i place at the front of my head at my hairline and adjust the other straps accordingly. I urge anyone that is having any problems with the F30 to be creative with headgear positioning. i can use it with no problems at all and i really like that my sinuses seem to stay clearer than with my Mirage Quatro. Since i love the new cushion material so much i am going to try out the AirFit F20 to see if it can replace my heavy Mirage Qautro with the old sticky silicone cushion. I am even saving lots of money by purchasing the AirFit F20 used thru LankyLefty27 website maskbright.com. ...Jason...once again....Thankyou for all your work to educate and help all of us CPAP users.

@@MMM-ng6gi With the Mirage Quatro pressure 20(max on my cpap) i had to use Remzzz to get a quieter better seal. I could sleep on my side or back . I did occassionally have a raw bridge of my nose. The ResMed AirFit F30 CPAP Full Face Mask was much much more comfortable. Do not overtighten and it works the best of all the masks i have tried. It does leak a bit nore when i sleep on my back. But, on my side my average AHI is 0.1 to 3.0..During my sleep study test i was 120 AHI per hour( yes-that high and i was suffering sleep deprivation). If i sleep on my back my AHI can go to 13.0. This is because my jaw/mouth drops and the mask loosens. I wear the top head band further back on my head than the pictures show because the band would slip to my forhead since i have a pointed small head and i need the angle of the mask to match my recessed chin. i worked on headgear position for months as i acclimated to this mask a few hours a day during naps. i again caution not to over tighten or you will feel pain under your tender nose, Now i look forward to putting it on and getting a good nights sleep or nap rvery time. i still love it and i wipe it after every use and replace the cushion every 4-6 weeks if my leaks/AHI start to rise. I sincerely hope this helps you. Good luck. Never Give Up.

Got my AirFitF30, yesterday. I have always used a size small, so that it what I ordered. Measure guide indicated that I should have gotten the medium. Still gave it a try last night, did not get the suffocated feeling you had but did feel it was a little to snug of a fit and was a little irritating to my nostrils as a result, but didn’t leave any red marks. I will be ordering the medium mask, to see if it fits me better. Up to now, my go to mask has been the dream-wear, my biggest complaint being that head gear even with a ponytail to sort of anchor it, had a tendency to slip causing air leaks that woke me up. I think I finally have found a mask and headgear that will finally both be comfortable and stay in place.

Very helpful. I appreciate the informative and detailed way he demonstrates the new F30 mask. I just got an F30 and choose it instead of the F20 because I wear glasses and liked the idea that I could keep my glasses on and read while using the mask at times. The new F20, though, only has two sizes, S or M. The respiratory therapist used the guage they provide and said I needed a M. The nose part fits well but immediately I noticed that if snug up to my nose, the lower part of the mask felt like its riding on my lower lip. My Quattro mask rides not on my lower lip but just below it. With new F30, I kept thinking "my lip is going to drop and I'm going to get air leaks." The several nights now I've used it, it has not. BUT, I wake up with saliva all over my lower lip and occasionally it makes burbling noise and/or I feel leaks, so it's a tug of war of "do I keep it up snug with my nose while feeling it ride up on my lower lip?" Or "do I try to share it and run into air leak problems?" Makes me think Resmed needs a L size too. That really hit home when I watched this person's F20 demonstration and saw Resmed uses a
vertical measurement card and noticed that red dot at bottom (meaning mask too small) fell on the lower lip area. The F30 measuring card is horizontal (only measure for nose fit. I really appreciate the way Lanky Lefty demonstrates the mask. Thank you.

Been using the F30 for about a year now. Originally recommended as a good mask for someone with a beard (I had a goatee at the time but have since removed it). I love the mask, very comfortable and it's the first mask I've used that allows me to breathe through my nose. I always found the pillows very uncomfortable and they would dry my nose out significantly, even with humidification.

I have a love hate relationship with my 30. I use a medium BTW. When I first used the 30, I felt like my nose wasn’t lining up with the holes and one or both would act like a flutter valve causing the machine to shut off the pressure thinking I was exhaling. I adjusted the straps looser, not tighter, and it seemed to help. I experimented with my first 30 by extending the holes using a small scissor removing the demarcation between the two holes, that didn’t work, it seems that the holes needed to be separate. I’ve played with the 30 for about two months and I still have issues with waking up and having to readjust the mask, usually pulling it down on my nose. I have a mustache and it puts a lot of pressure on the hairs which causes discomfort. I’m motivated to make it work, I just wish the holes lined up better. I also have issues with my jaw dropping when I sleep on my back. My body always seems to want to be on my back probably due to my arthritis in my lower back which causes pain when I sleep on my left side. I tried to leave feed back on Res Med’s web site but can’t seem to find the link to Tech Services. I love your site, keep up the good work.

Strap adjustments have improved that and getting "used to" the mask is probably contributing to less pain in the nose. I like the flow and feel of the mask on my face. The Airfit P10 nasal pillow mask has the most fabulous air vent/diffuser. It's sooo quiet and there is no jet of air that hits blankets and pillows when you tuck in. It only exists on that one product of theirs, despite being so genius. Every other mask/style I've tried since I can't stand because of the noise and air jet. Sometimes I have congestion and I need a full mask, but it's so annoying I take it off.

I am new to sleep therapy, but just purchased this mask. These may be silly questions. If you tend to breathe out of your mouth, do you need to try to prevent that with this mask or any other mask? Or is the point of the CPAP that you can breathe out of your mouth because you have a mask on. In regards to placing your nose in the mask, it should almost be on top of the holes correct? Thank you in advance!

i went from the F20 to the F30 recently and all i can say is WOW! this is giving me 8hrs+ of sleep every night with zero, zip, zilch, nada wake-ups. the only issue on the pillow is that i have to make sure to seat it into the holder very firmly. at first, i slept a whole night with a very slight leak not knowing that i didn't have the pillow firmly seated. i just thought that that was the way is was supposed to be. after seating the pillow properly, the very next night i slept almost 10 hours without waking up once with a silent mask...as in, the only thing i could hear was the machine on the nightstand i've been on the cpap train for a little over a year now, and couldn't be any happier with this setup. the F20 was "good," but the F30 is GREAT! the old F20 didn't work too good for me as a side sleeper. all of those issues have gone away now with the F30.

I think, as with other medical equipment, the market is much smaller than, say for iPhones. So we pay bigger portions of the R&D costs. Also, I'm not sure what the FDA approval process is, but even if it's not full fledged like a new drug, it can still add significantly to the price.

Because Philips and ResMed just can. Exactlly like any captive buyers. Small compnaies has no insentive to invest just in maks, as it is identified as part of the CPAP machines makers (though it doesn't). Additionally, as part of this marketing strategy, these mask are usually made very fragile and built deliberately not to last (the velcro, the connectors, the hose klips, etc).

I've been using the F30 for 3 months and I changed from a F10 nasal mask due to constant congestion. I'm a side sleeper who also tends to drop my chin toward my chest, pulling at any mask I wear. I've found this mask to be the most comfortable, most leak free and obstructive-free full face mask. The leaks I do get are the tip of my nose, usually after dropping my chin or moving the mask to scratch my nose (I really tend to have an itchy nose). I fully recommend this mask for those that can't wear nasal masks, but don't want a huge thing on their face. Get mask liners for sure! The one downside to this mask is the nasal holes, I would prefer they were not separate, instead just a rounded rectangle like the Dreamwear, I spend a lot of time after putting it on sticking my finger up in there to ensure they are lined up correctly. Thank you for your review, I've found your videos very helpful.

Thanks for this! I use the DreamWear Full Face and have issues with leaking as soon as I relax after falling asleep. I can’t use regular full face because my bridge is too narrow so it leaks into my eyes, and they cause blistering. Sounds like it may be worth trying - I like the concept behind both, and am due for more supplies soon!

Good call on changing from pillow to full face mask on machine. What technically does that even do? I guess recognize the different breathing patterns vs pillow breathing patterns. I just made the switch too due to nasal congestion and mouth leak. So after running a home modified thigh band into a head strap and realizing the massive difference in quality of sleep I’m super hopeful this rectifies all issues. 🤙🏼

Using the F20, I was excited to try this when it came out but disppointment followed. Anyone with a large head will have to crank on the mask to have the top strap comfortable. My size7 3/4 only had about 1/4- 1/2 inch of velcro attached on the top strap and it wasn't secure. To make it secure I had to tighten it to the point it was uncomfortable. I think they need a large head gear size with this and I would try this again.

I've been using the F20 since I started using CPAP 14 months ago. Every now and then the bridge of my nose gets sore so I was looking for a smaller mask. The Dream Wear full face mask hurt the underside of my nose. I loosened the headgear but it didn't help and caused leaks. I picked up the F30 and have been using it for 5 weeks. It's my new favorite mask. No nose pain. No problem with air leaks. If I get up at night to use the bathroom I can leave the mask on and still throw on my glasses. It is a little tricky to snap the mask back into the frame after cleaning. Maybe there's a trick to that and I haven't figured it out yet.

They're really strong! It's not the the entire hold is from the power of the magnets themselves; the magnets just guide the parts to seat them against each other. The parts hook into each other, and it is that hooking that makes the connection secure and strong. Yet, when it comes time to take it off, all you have to do is gently lift up on the far end, and it unseats and comes apart easily.

(of course we all know that is a concern with any CPAP mask. ) I also have a Dreamwear Full Face mask, as well as the F20 . I rate the F30 the best of the three. I use Bipap and the F30 just works better with the higher pressure I find. One additional thought I use the ResMed Curve Auto machine and I can not remove the hose to go to the bathroom. If I do so the machine blows the water from the humidifier and is picked up in the hose and you have soggy mattress and water in the hose and lungs (NOT GOOD) Great Review - I think it is the best mask on the market.

I have nasal congestion every time I lie down, so the solution to that for me is; to have my starting pressure set on to 8 rather than the usual 4 that most start with. That pressure pushes through the congestion every time and I can breath immediately. This should work for those people who have a cold or allergies.

I have the same machine. If your machine is blowing water from the humidifier, you have overfilled it or sloshed it into the tubing by bumping the machine. Followup to my earlier observations about this mask. I thought I loved it because I didn't need a chinstrap. But my AHI is normally .5 with the airfit p10 and my chinstrap. With this mask it's consistently over 5.0 with lots of CA's and RERA's. And my throat is sore all the time. Played a lot with humidity to the point of rainout and that did help some. But still a giant problem. I'm a mouth breather if I get the chance and I think this mask just encourages that. Probably would be a great mask if I didn't have that to deal with. No sealing problems for me. I'm afraid I need to go back to the Airfit P10 with chinstrap and get some good uninterrupted sleep.

Then I thought, hang on, I could do that much cheaper. I just need it to protect my skin from the mask so I borrowed a cotton face mask from my sister and she cut two holes for nose and mouth, clipped it over my ears then put the F30 over it. Works fine. You can get them for 1 or 2 quid and they are washable. Give it a try.

Try mask liners like Silent Night or Remzzz. They help with leaks for me. I don't get blasted in the eye any more! I'm at 18-19

I’m at 20 and don’t have an issue. But your face may be the cause. I would try different masks. Changing machines is like buying cars, it can be expensive and insurance won’t pay for more than one machine during a certain period.

I'm tying to figure out a way to use the Humidx F20 with the F30 mask, since there is not a travel Humidifier option for that mask yet. I'm doing an alpine winter backpacking trip.. so I can't rely on AC power. I chopped one up in an attempt to make it work, since the fitting is so similar. The shape of the F30 mask just made it impossible. I'm currently using two small velcro pieces to hold it in place. i suppose some air can move around the humidifier, rather then being forced through it. but.. something is better than nothing right? any suggestions? any tips would be welcome. i hear the HumidxF30 is in the works, but nothing is available at the moment. is there an option that i can use further down the hose? I'm using a resmed 11. plannign to use the unit with a humidity chamber plug, to bypass the humidity.

I'm surprised you did not mention that you can wear glasses which is a major plus, really enjoyed your video! Thanks bro! You the man! I got this mask and it was a nightmare! It leaked a lot! Really sucked!

I got the airfitF20 full face, and after 5 different mask it is the ultimate! No fucking leaks and very comfortable!

@@Ray-gu5kp I’m going from the air touch f20 to this mask in this video. The F20 mask didn’t encourage me to breath through my nose at all, just mouth & it really raised my AHI’s. Hoping this mask, which is similar to the dreamware full face mask allows for better breathing through nose

Hallo Janson, thank you for the great video. I like this Mask very much. I live in Germany and I ordered the mask from the States. They only problem I have is, that early in the morning the mask starts to bubble on both sides of the mouth. I do not know why?

Tried the F30 and my AHI the first night was over 50 with extreme aerophagia. Had to go back to a nasal mask and AHI now around 5-10 @ 11psi

Thanks Jason. I got the medium, and at first it hurt my septum, and pushed my nose up. I fiddled with the straps, and it’s better, however the nasal flow feels restricted. That’s just me. In my opinion the most comfortable mask is the foam air touch F20, but I can’t scratch my nose with out breaking the seal.

Using the f30 mask - like it-the last couple of cushions my chin gets irritated to the point i can’t ware the mask. Any advise?

    • @Freecpapadvice
      @Freecpapadvice  5 ปีที่แล้ว

Are you over tightening the lower straps? If it's getting irritated still you can check your mask washing routine....like wash it after every use. If that doesn't work then you can try a barrier product like REMzzz liners.
