While this is the case 90% of the time, I’ve had a Tower Control match in Splatoon 1 where everyone disconnected but me and someone on the enemy team, but he was still there, and we finished the match ourselves. I lost because it was Carbon Roller Vs. Charger.

@@jesus2383 if this happens all the time to you it's your connection. The switch has laggy WIFI. Go onto a 5 ghz wifi and if possible, use a wired connection
“Everyone disconnected except for this one person” actually that person is likely the only one who disconnected, they just haven’t been kicked from the match yet (I’ve experienced this too many times)

When you see clips of games where everyone expect one player has "disconnected" it's actually the opposite. The game continues as normal for the other players but the one who sees everyone disconnecting is actually the one who disconnected.
Has happened to me multiple times because of the mcdonalds wifi I have. You can see some pretty intresting things like rainmakers flying and such.

I remember during a ranked match the “Connection is unstable” message was on screen for about 1 minute and a half. Then after it disappeared and 2 people on our team disconnected along with 3 people on the opposing team.... *BUT THE MATCH WAS STILL GOING*
I was like: *ALRIGHT! WE TOTALLY GOT THIS!! TIME TO HOP ON THE TOWER!*

In these "everyone has disconnected" lobbies, the person that's playing actually has disconnected. This has happened to me multiple times, in Salmon Run too. You kind of just.. stay there, while the match is still going on for the others. You'll get disconnected after a minute or two.

When everyone disconnects and it’s just you and a frozen enemy it means that you disconnected. This happens to me a lot

It's one of the worst things I've experienced when my connection was hotspot based. I have better Wi-Fi now, but...the sheer nonsense that is your Switch deciding it isn't connected is wildly frustrating.

i once disconnected and it was only me and a undercover brella in the match and we were squid partying and now we are pretty good friends, now ive been diagnosed with eternal happiness
Usually when you disconnect the game will kinda freak out and disconnect everybody but will for some reason display one other player on the other team active. They will be there visually but will be stuck and can take hella damage before the game finally accepts that they are dead. I have experienced this like 20 times
I’ve shot a ton of people with my Squiffer when they could take a ton of damage. Somehow one-shots them, probably has something to do with the weapon

Jay when everyone disconnects it usually means you disconnected and got teleported to a new place. Sometimes some layers stay in place and are invincible.

That, I have experience when I was level 10 in Splatoon 2
If you disconnect ,all of your team mates disappear and if your with another person on your team or the other team
They won’t get splatted or move (well maybe if they are shooting) but when they are shooting no ink is coming out. They are just moving like they are inking.

Don't worry, this is really common if you have a weak internet connection, it happened to me one million times and its so annoying. The same thing that you saw in the clip happened to me, sometimes I be by myself while everyone quits and sometimes I be with my teammate or another person in the other team.

its not everyone but one person being kicked, it's actually the server forcefully kicking you out for connection syncing issues, its just the gameplay hasn't been told to surrender yet. so its just you vs an invincible opponent until a second script runs to check if you're out of the match

Every single time I play Rainmaker there is always that one teammate that thinks it’s turf war of tries to take the rainmaker to the wrong goal.

Now that the topic of disconnecting has been brought up
There actually was this one incident where I was playing duo league with a friend in clam blitz. So we’re getting down to the final stretch, and…chunks of people were disconnecting BUT there was no “the connection is unstable” or “a connection error has occurred.” I looked up at our team, and noticed that my team had two people left and the other team had only one. The match literally kept playing as normal, so I think a ton of people’s internet just went kaboom lol
I like that Jay never considered the possibility that the recorder disconnected instead of the entire lobby.
I experienced it a couple times before, I do have a clip of me just... shooting another person like the one guy hit by the sprinkler in this video. One time I was the one who disconnected but my sister and I were playing together and she stayed in and was the last person left who didn’t disconnect

Recently got Octo Expansion and... the matchmaker stations were not bad for me. I might even consider them some of my favourite stations! Both with the squiffer, of course, i'm not a masoquist
I had a moment where one other person and I (we were on the same team) were the only people who didn’t disconnect and we both sat there for like, 45 seconds. Then we just partied.

I remember once I was in Turf War and I was on the loading screen when it said *TURF WAR SHELLENDORF INSITUTE* and I was stuck on that screen even when it showed the enemy’s base and then it replayed it again and then finally it said there was a communication error. That is my greatest memory for Splatoon 2

The thing where everyone is disconnected is what I call entering the void. You can do nothing until you get kicked out of the game
When connection is unstable after the message disappears you have some time where everyone dies or a few survive frozen, the match has no way to end, after a while you disconnect
Right after watching a few of these I got into a 2v2 match in splat zones
4:00 in a turf war match everyone but me disconnected. As soon as the match ended, “A communication error has occurred”
That has happened more times than I can count.
