Actually, his acting at the beginning of this special (1991’s One Night Stand) is nothing like his later acting, which I feel was purposely thrown and pitched. He is a remarkable actor and is incredibly handsome in the beginning of this special - if you haven’t seen it, see it and get back to me. Him sitting at the dinner table and then later in the kitchen…this is shortly after his bout with stomach cancer and he was struggling to make it, and I think he still had the anger in him that true fans know so well in the stories of his younger, more dangerous days.
Wrong and wrong. He says it multiple times and not once is there any 'D' element. Every time it's 'ge-RAZH'. (Same stressed vowel sound as in 'casual'-'CAZH-oo-ul'.) And in any case, I'd say 95% of Canadians say 'ge-RAWZH', as in 'barrage', so you're wrong there too. (I do recall noticing, incidentally, that Jay Leno, on his program Jay Leno's Garage, says 'ge-RODGE'.)
Hi Mohammad. The root of that part of the joke is in parents who would “teach” their children “lessons” by way of a sort of extreme reverse psychology. It’s funny because it often backfired (for rather obvious reasons), yet many well meaning parents can’t seem to adjust this failed disciplinary style. It’s also funny in how Norm lays it out with kindness toward this parent, who was just doing his best. He understands the absurdity in harsh punishment, and the irrationality in trying to tell a kid not to do something you do yourself. He also understands the absurdity and irrational behaviour in much that we all do and expect of others.
Why wouldn't hollywood give him the green light? Why wouldn't they accept him and give him more gigs? Was he that horrible no one ever wanted to make movies with him besides the infamous 2 he stared in?
Norm just disclosed why he recently died. HE FRICKIN' SMOKED! It's sad because Norm was funny! That old expression is true: "Youth is wasted on the young!" So long, Norm! * Cav *
Ouch. I could be wrong, but I don’t think he ever succeeded in a full quit. It’s hard for many people. Every little bit of good we can do for ourselves matters, but who’s to say what the correct balance is? It’s an onslaught of things to avoid. I’m glad he told his story so well, with some of its imperfections.
Young Norm sounds like people trying to do impressions of Norm in 2022.
Sounds like they're on the right track then lol
😂
Omg 😂 yes!
Full-circle.
He sounds like a retard!
His stand-up is good but unlike most stand-up comedians this guy is exceptional as an actor
especially in SCREWED
He wasn’t exceptional but what he did was hilarious. His bad acting in his own show was great.
Haha, you're kidding right?

He was sooo cute. Those dimples and that curly hair. My favorite. May he rest in peace.
It's great to see how his old man impression has changed.
Yeah, I heard it's pretty good these days
@@timyumichuck9262 Maybe the best gimmick a comedian ever had
This I the first Norm special I ever saw, and kills me to this day.
I can't stop watching norm😵💫
Only Norm can get a whole room full of people to laugh about suicide. Supreme comedic talent. I can watch his stuff all day!
Might wanna check out Anthony Jeselnik then
@@etanb1 and george carlin
Norm was polished as hell in the 80's and stayed at the top of his game until the end.
I never get tired of Norm. Holy cow.
Man Ive had such good times behind the gerasj.
This guy was natural comedy. So funny and not afraid to take it to the edge, joking about suicide and serial killers. He went too soon. RIP.
He sounds so Canadian holy crap
"Guh- rahhdge"? How much more Canadian can ya get?
You could put some empties and a hockey net in the guh-rahhdge and go eat some timbits.
In New Zealand we pronounce it like 'carriage' but with a G

@@wheedler Astounding differences of opinion. Yer a good guy though.
"Just a slight ringing in the ears"
I was waiting for him to say "crack cocaine" but he jumped straight over to heroin.😆
Norm was the only entity to not let us forget the insanity of america, namely OJ; and made it comedy, the only way America notices anything.
Is this a full hour? Would love to see it its a full show
@o nickel thank you!
The visual of Norm's father's huge disembodied head grabbing him with his teeth...I had to stop the video to laugh
Norm = GOAT
he injected me with heroin!
…he was a strict man i’ll tell ya that
🤣🤣 peak norm
Is this the full set? Any more footage?
"Just a slight ringing in the ears". HA!
interestingly, some people don't die even when getting shot in the head
Shotguns are 99% effective, the 1% makes you wish you were dead.
im fuckin dying laughing right now hahahahahahaha
Norm was born hilarious
Is your channel title "seabird" from the song "seabird" by the innovations?
No, it’s an old joke between a friend and I, related to where I grew up.
Cool
Norm never told anyone that he had pancreatic cancer. This video shows how frail he had become. Norm was my favorite comedian.
Greatness
making fun of old people is always great
He’s not making fun of old people. He’s talking about one fictional character who lived to be very old even though he had extremely unhealthy habits.
@@TheAxis1968 Norm did plenty of geezer humor, it was kind of his schtick ignoramus.
@@TheAxis1968 Some would call that an old person. Also I think OP was being sincere and they're right

Norms psychiatrist told him he has an oral fixation
No surprise?
He always stuck me as the type of guy that owned a doghouse.
I wonder how the psychiatrist knew?
He looks like an animatronic version of himself
That’s hilarious, because when we get old(er), that’s actually kind of how videos of our twenty-something selves can appear 😂

I love norm but can't get the point of the joke about his father forcing him to smoke
