  • The Lyfreen Smart Bird Feeder has a camera, auto motion detection, and AI bird identification. How will this feeder stack up against other smart bird feeders and is it the best one on the market?

    The green things are drywall anchors. You'd use those to mount the feeder to drywall, brick, cement, stucco - basically the side of the house... but not wood. Definitely screw directly into wood like you did the 2nd time.
    Great review!

    You are so blessed to have so many bird feeders and review them. To bad it does not record video. I have TECHNAXX HD Birdcam TX-165. You are right about the squirrels I just order a balffel from Amazon and will mount the feeder on a shepherd hook and pray the squirrels will not get to it.

    Despite the 135 degree FOV, the perch area for the birds extends beyond the picture frame for the Lyfreen. I believe that is something NETVUE designed for to force the birds to be framed within the photo?

    I am facing the below problems (please if you could guide me):
    • No notification on phone app if bird is come (motion sensor is already on). I expected my phone to get notification when a bird comes within surveillance area and motion camera gets activated.
    • Does not record any video or images when the bird comes (motion sensor is already on). The gallery is empty and collections folder is also empty
    • AI does not recognise birds in video (stored in gallery). It cannot find any images/video
    • A! does not recognize birds in live stream

    • @BadgerlandBirding
      @BadgerlandBirding  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      See if there’s an app update, which could solve your issues with motion. The app will only notify you when there’s motion and take one photo (you can see those in “history”. You have to be watching the livestream to take photos or videos and then they will be stored in the gallery. You can use AI during the livestream or on photos you have in your gallery, but not videos. Hope this helps!

    I just bought one of these but I’m having some issues. (Manual is useless!) I was getting notifications the first two days…but now notifications have completely stopped. Also, this thing has a siren that has been going off in the morning at 7:15am…i live in a condo and have close neighbors…i can’t figure out how to stop that feature. I also have my night vision on “auto”…but the unit goes offline every night. I’m getting frustrated. 😡😩😢

    Typical of so many reviews I've seen for these feeders. You miss a key point completely: how do you recharge the battery? I know the solar panel can help with recharging but periodically you're going to want to recharge the battery yourself especially in winter. Most of these bird feeders require you to bring the whole feeder into your house to charge it. Is this the case with this one? That's a terrible idea as the feeder will be dirty and covered with bird droppings. How can it be charged?

    • @BadgerlandBirding
      @BadgerlandBirding  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, if the solar panel is working well you don’t need to do that, but yeah that’s what you do. However if you have an outlet outside you can just plug it in there and don’t have to bring it inside

    • @zenkepler
      @zenkepler 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can easily remove the camera from the birdfeeder and bring just the camera inside to charge it.

    Yeah you don’t use the green anchor sleeves if you’re mounting it on wood. Just drill the screws directly into the wood.

    Which feeder do you recommend the most? I just bought my daughter the Netvue Birdfy Lite....and she loved it for the few days it worked...then the battery wouldn't re-charge. This is a common problem with anything made in China. Would love to hear your thoughts.

  • @WarblerRidge

    These things are a fun idea but it seems like by mounting the camera to a feeder, the variety of possible birds is pretty limited. At least where I live, the possibilities for feeder birds are pretty finite and it’s easy enough the learn what they are without AI assistance. I’m waiting for the smart bird cam that will record activity in my treetops and identify migrating warblers 😂
