Just went through Pamplin a couple weeks ago. Used to live there from the mid 70s to the early 80s. Went to Pamplin elementary until they closed it down and sent us to Appomattox. Found memories of this place.
@@hoodinthewoods you should post it. I would love to see it. One class per grade. The school is shaped like U. Downstairs was the cafeteria and bathrooms. Out back was a large playground.
Never heard of pamplin untill.i started dating a narcissist farmer man from there ...I liked it because it was quite and peaceful but close to Farmville and Appomattox to work.
I go to Pamplin City every now and then.....use to have a flea market in one of the old buildings. Packed full of stuff and a wood heater in the middle...surprise it didn't burn the whole town. Been in the hotel.....I thought it was an old house. You need to check out Drakes Branch....

Possibly convert the old buildings/hotel into apartments or condos. Don’t know if there’d be enough demand for that there though
