Roguelike/lite means you lose progress upon death and upgrade as your run progresses. Hollow knight is a metroidvania game, as it is in the style of Metroid and/or Castlevania. As an example: Dead Cells is a Metroidvania rougelite, Hollow Knight is a Metroidvania soulslike.
