I did alot of round walls like this over the years and never had any cracks or call backs. The only thing I did different was I used 2 layers of 1/4" drywall. I never had 'FibaFuse', looks like great stuff. This is a great video for anyone to follow if they are planning on doing this for the first time. 10 thunbs

Great work. I love the added description for each process. I think I've learned more from you than so many others videos. Not saying other TH-cam aren't great at what they do. Just appreciate the added nuggets. Keep up the good content.

Hi! If I've got finished and painted drywall. Can I just put the Quikrete PVA adhesive on and start plastering? Or are there other necessary steps. Thanks a ton! Love your videos

Yes you can, however it's always best to apply a base coat first. Make sure everything is structurally sound and you're good to go! Thanks for watching.

@@plasterdrywallbyshaynebeda4503 thanks for the response! What would the base coat material be?

@@ryan.steffes Hi Ryan, you can use anything from Structlite, Diamond Base, or Red Top Gypsum mixed with sand.

Although the drywall mud does a good job of securing the drywall to the studs, construction adhesive is a better alternative and easier to use. Also on curved areas multible layers of the 1/4” drywall with the joints stagered and laminated with the construction adhesive works very well.
Actually a double layer of 3/8” or 1/2” drywall laminated together with the seams staggered does a very nice job on ceilings.
Use the construction adhesive and screws on the first layer, then use the adhesive and less screws on the top layer.
The following day remove the screws and you will have a very nice ceiling with no chance of having nail pops.
Your curved wall turned out well, and the extra mud thickness made up for the thinner dry wall as for strength.

Awesome, so can I put the Diamond over 29 minute, or does it have to be durable bond? It’s hard to find dura bond in my area

Hi Dan, Diamond needs to have a hard base to keep it structurally sound. It should have a base of at least Durabond but better to use Diamond or Imperial base coat from. USG/CGC has a great website.

what is the difference between durabond( brown bag) and say usg ez sand?

Hi Rob, that's a good question and one not easily found out. USG EZ Sand and other products like it are LOW-DENSE Materials. Durabond Type Setting Compound - 90min, 60min, 45min... is a HIGH-DENSE Material, which means it is considerably stronger than the EZ Sand. Hope this helps.
