The cover of the album is an MRI OF the lead singer’s brain after his fight with alcoholism which left him with Wenicke-Korsakoff syndrome. Dear Agony was Breaking Benjamin’s first album after the lead singer, Benjamin Burnley, got sober. Dear Agony is Benjamin addressing the feelings he was going through during that time, and, in a way, is his personal letter to agony. Lacey Sturm is the lead singer of Flyleaf. Another really great band!
I can never resist singing along to this one (and I usually just try to fill in the harmonies in the one with Lacey, probably baritone, my range is low to mid alto, you seemed to be picking the same notes I do lol) This is one of my favorite bands, anything by them is awesome- you could also check out the band Flyleaf if you want to hear more from Lacey Sturm. I could be wrong, but I think all metal is rock, but not all rock is metal, if that makes sense- rock can be hard (like metal), soft, and many shades in between
If you’re wondering, yes there are new band members now. The singer Ben Burnley fired the lead guitarist and the bassist back in 2011 because they released a version of a song without his knowledge or consent, and also an album with all their singles and bonus songs on it without his consent. So there was a legal battle going on where he took them to court. The singer ended up winning the rights to the name of the band, and therefore he had the final say in what could be released and when. Years later the drummer decided to leave because he wanted to focus on being with his family, and then he joined another band. So Ben Burnley (the vocalist) ended up being the only original member left. He later hired new guitarists, a new bassist, and drummer.
This is one of my favourite bands to listen to. In fact, while I've been working today, I've been listening to them on Spotify (can't do it on TH-cam, get far too distracted!!!). Great ones to review: I Will Not Bow, Blow Me Away (found on the Halo 2 soundtrack), Breath, Had Enough, What Lies Beneath, Sooner or Later, Far Away, Give Me a Sign. You won't be disappointed
I love breaking Benjamin my only problem is that they don't release music quick it's like every 4 or 5 years I herd them the first time when I was stationed in New York around the time phobia had come out and the hit was diary of Jane along with breath and evil angel
