Tenkaichi 4 needs a really good soundtrack, cuz Xenoverse 2 soundtrack was horrible, especially the main hub theme. Fighterz soundtrack was ok, but still not on par with Budokai Tenkaichi series.

What's funny is that the Japanese versions of the Budokai Tenkaichi (or Sparking! as they're called in Japan) and Raging Blast games actually had the soundtrack used in the original anime composed by Kikuchi Shunsuke. However, because the shitty Funimation English dub decided not to use the original soundtrack and replaced it with the Bruce Faulconer score, they figured American fans wouldn't recognize the music and decided to have an entirely new score made for the American releases of the games (at least for Tenkaichi 2 onward; Tenkaichi 1 just reused the music from the previous Budokai games). I 110% prefer the Japanese version of DBZ's anime and hate the dub, but the American score for the Budokai Tenkaichi and Sparking! games is pretty banging so I really don't mind it at all lol

@@dupersuper6516 I wasn't saying that the Funi dub is shit solely because of the music, far from it (though the music choices do often ruin otherwise great moments, often because it's CONSTANTLY playing in scenes where the Japanese version knew to be silent for suspense or dramatic effect). There's a LOOOOT of other reasons why Funimation's dub of DBZ was utter garbage, whether that be dumb name changes of characters, attacks, terminology, etc, mistranslations, mispronunciations, extreme amounts of censorship, lots of terrible voice acting, HUGE changes to the script and dialogue that resulted in quite a few misinforming statements that contradict the original version and still plague the Western DB fandom to this day, and just overall making the English dub almost like an entirely different show compared to the Japanese version.
Honestly I hope the old soundtracks from 1-3 can be used or a paid dlc for a low price or a pre order bundle (which practically Will be a rare thing to do)

This is by far the greatest piece of music in all video games by far. Listening to it now brings back the memories of the end of last fight of the saga. Or last cut scene. It is so nostalgic. This music reminds me most of when Goku guides gohan through beating cell

Tenkaichi 4 needs a really good soundtrack, cuz Xenoverse 2 soundtrack was horrible, especially the main hub theme. Fighterz soundtrack was ok, but still not on par with Budokai Tenkaichi series.

I spent an entire afternoon with my brother playing this game on our old PS2. 16 years later and we just have a blast. My mains were either Mystic Gohan or Future Trunks while he was Vegito or Super Android 17.

What's funny is that the Japanese versions of the Budokai Tenkaichi (or Sparking! as they're called in Japan) and Raging Blast games actually had the soundtrack used in the original anime composed by Kikuchi Shunsuke. However, because the shitty Funimation English dub decided not to use the original soundtrack and replaced it with the Bruce Faulconer score, they figured American fans wouldn't recognize the music and decided to have an entirely new score made for the American releases of the games (at least for Tenkaichi 2 onward; Tenkaichi 1 just reused the music from the previous Budokai games). I 110% prefer the Japanese version of DBZ's anime and hate the dub, but the American score for the Budokai Tenkaichi and Sparking! games is pretty banging so I really don't mind it at all lol

Except there's a whole demographic of people who identify with the faulconer score over the original japanese soundtrack and think the og dub is awful, doesn't mean they're right or wrong, it's just what they know, and personally, I think there's a place for both.
@@dupersuper6516 I wasn't saying that the Funi dub is shit solely because of the music, far from it (though the music choices do often ruin otherwise great moments, often because it's CONSTANTLY playing in scenes where the Japanese version knew to be silent for suspense or dramatic effect). There's a LOOOOT of other reasons why Funimation's dub of DBZ was utter garbage, whether that be dumb name changes of characters, attacks, terminology, etc, mistranslations, mispronunciations, extreme amounts of censorship, lots of terrible voice acting, HUGE changes to the script and dialogue that resulted in quite a few misinforming statements that contradict the original version and still plague the Western DB fandom to this day, and just overall making the English dub almost like an entirely different show compared to the Japanese version.
The fight against Omega Shenron as SS4 Goku and Vegeta in this game was amazing with this track.
