I think, cancelling someone is important, if the critics are well founded for our society. If JK gives money to organisations that discriminate a minority. If she speaks against the identity of people. In this case, it’s important to speak up and call it out. That it is wrong to discriminate minorities. And this is part of freedom of expression. This is the heart of our democracy.

I was actually crying while watching this video. It just so happen to be that I too love literature but was told to study another field by my parents. Even i read harry potter without the knowledge of my parents. It did teach me alot. I think it's not about true and false. People do all the day long false things and no one complains. It's more about archaic anxiety of being aten up by something what is more powerful than me. It's the anxiety that one is replaced. You can even picture this anxiety in brainscans. Anxiety should be the thing to talk about in future.

I certainly have never been rich. I grew up relatively poor (we also needed benefits, and our church gave us food). I will likely remain poor for several more years until I can earn more. Yet I disagree with your statement. Money is a useful and wonderful thing, and having it alleviates an enormous amount of stress. For some people, that may be enough to make you happy, though I think it's rare, so to an extent money can indeed buy happiness. But you can be happy without it. I find that happiness is more of an action than a chance feeling that happens to you. It's a choice. It's sometimes a difficult choice to make, and an extremely difficult thing to make the choice a reality, but it is possible. I'm happy, and money didn't buy that.
When she wrote the book there was Less social media presence or not available so people used to read books now very less fraction of people read novel or comic books ...which is replaced by TH-cam, facebook,insta so now a days even your naval is as good as Harry Potter it won't reach public door only film director may read or try making film out of it then only It may be recognized.. next gen will hardly read books or even tries to write coz no attention no money in books publishing as it used to be ....some day books will be part of history....

In the 90s, Joanne Rowling or as we better know her JK Rowling has the put that pen name on her books because publishers don’t want people who buy the books to turn away when they know that HP was written by a woman. She herself was denied countless opportunities to reach where she is right now. You act like she achieved everything right away and served with a silver platter even though she was in her 30s when HP was published and a single mother. Shouldn’t one find their own opportunity why should she be the one to provide it for them. It is their life, their path and their journey not hers. She inspired many people into this genre and that itself is extraordinary, to a lot of people that inspiration opened many doors to their creativity and to the path they want to take. The rest is up to them.
