I’d be interested to see interviews with the employees before and after a sale. . Did compensation change? Did work/life balance change? Did employment satisfaction change? Did culture change? . It’d also be interesting to see customer’s feedback, although that may be more difficult to find.
I was a pm at a very successful roofing company (top 5 in sales in the area). After private equity bought in, everything changed. In 3 months, all of the top sales guys were gone, support staff followed to. I've also heard success stories, but this was not one. The people coming in also said we could be easily replaced, we put that to the test, and that was not the case.
Owners prepare to grind 3x harder, endure the stress after PE takes over, get the company in debt, and you will see money wasted on things you wouldn't spend under your ownership. If you are ok with it, just work there for 2-3 years and move on with your life or on your next endeavors.
That's a start.. it's more about EBIT-DA and CAGR (compound annual growth rate) that gets these Volucher Capital Pigs' Mouths wet. Maybe some good ones out there but the ones (and people) I've meet were pushy, d bags.

Why would private equity care about managed repair? Or are you referencing carriers?
MRP is 30-40% gross profit margin paid by insurance companies, which is considered a golden receivable. This is why PE is buying Roofing companies.
