Oh and I too was raised in a home where my mom didn’t work! Christian upbringing and saw my grandparents do the same. But men ( some men) I see today don’t appreciate the type of woman I am! Blessings to you both. I love what I see and you both seem genuinely devoted to each other! You need that!

This is a very interesting conversation... discussing gender roles... & being submissive to someone who loves you like GOD LOVES the church is easy... but this limitation of a woman's career... come on Ruth was gleaning in the fields when she met Boaz... there were women prophets... JESUS WHEN HE WAS RESURRECTED GAVE THE FIRST WORD to a woman... so submission is totally different from not having a career. Perfect example Kelly Ripa & her husband, she has spoken about being submissive to him & he makes the final decisions, but there are discussions & she has a successful career with amazing kids & a GOD CENTERED marriage... so being an accountant doesn't mean you can't be submissive... & Paul actually said that it is better not to be married, but if celibacy is difficult get married... My grandparents were married for 77 years & they both worked, but Grandma took care of the cooking & cleaning... but in the Bible many women also had servants. Sara did... so all this to say submission doesn't negate having a career. I will subscribe because I love to see good content.
Hey! Ooh wee this subject here! I personally went into my marriage ready to serve! Being submissive cooking cleaning taking care of the kids when he was not home… I worked also!… But it wasn’t reciprocated! I felt like he thought that’s what you’re supposed to do and just not helping out at all! It has to be intentional on both ends! I shut down, I stopped doing all those things, I would get the groceries bring them in put them away cook and then he wouldn’t even help do the dishes or anything else! I felt like an unappreciated work horse! And if it’s not being intentional on both ends it hurts the marriage! I told him he was selfish and self centered. Yes he paid the household bills, but that’s not all he is supposed to do! Love your channel! I’m a Christian and he was not!

I respect whatever lifestyle choice a person makes but I would never want to be a housewife. I know I would never be happy doing that. But I would never ask my husband to be s stay at home dad either.

Femininity is not synonymous with being subservient. Two adults in a relationship should be submissive to each other. You keep quoting the Bible, but the revelation of Christ was greatly influenced and propagated by the women in his life. Starting from the blessed virgin mother, if Mary, the mother of God, did not stand her ground, Jesus would not have been born because Joseph was put in a difficult situation. A woman cannot allow a man to be masculine; that statement in itself is contractictory. A man who needs to subjugate his partner is not a man. Men who go about stating that they want to be the head of the house in fact do not have leadership skills; the best leader is first a server. Christ serves the church. It is unfortunate that opinionated, intelligent, and passionate women are villified. My mother has a PHD and uses her brains and skills to make our community better; thankfully, my dad, with his own law firm, who is in fact the provider for our family, supports her unequivocally. An accomplished woman is never a threat to real men. Furthermore, no human being should have full authority over others. It is sad that your father led your family without compassion and kindness. The fact that your husband thinks that his goals are more important than yours is very telling. Good luck

I didn't care for the Barbie movie either. There were many parts that made it uncomfortable for me. I didn't like the way she constantly blanked at Ken and then wanting to step out of the world creeped me out. I prefer traditional roles in relationships.
I like the fact you’re okay with being a housewife but all I know is that being submissive isn’t about staying at home also I believe both the woman and man can work in a marriage and women are strong enough to have kids, clean cook do all chores and still go to work. It makes you useful
Honestly, I believe all a great relationship takes is for there to be mutual respect, to honor each other, appreciation, communication and loyalty.
