Seriously...for example, I recently picked up a bag of Old Trapper sausages. Second ingredient (after beef) is beef hearts.
Links ability to initially like something, then over think it and convince himself its disgusting regardless of what it is, is absolutely baffling.
If you ate human and liked it, you would likely become repulsed by it after learning what you just ate. It is not unusual behavior to be repulsed by something regardless of flavor.

As a Czech person myself, I must say I didn't know they were called "drowned men" because the inventor drowned, I assumed it was because they swam in the pickle. Anyway, it indeed is a very popular dish which can be found in almost any pub as a starter meal and I am glad you enjoyed it!
