i just got an inkle loom for christmas. the manual wasn't clear enough, imo that's pretty typical of most manuals for just about anything. this should be much clearer. i'll save this to watch later so i can go back.

Great question! The string heddle we used in this video is 9 1/2" long. Texsolv heddles at 8 5/8" and 9" will work for an inkle loom as well. schachtspindle.com/product/heddles/
thank you for explaining how to warp an inkle loom but I do have a question, When I start warping just why in the world do I want to waste so much yarn at the beginning, 8 inches? really that is really a lot of waste. Yes I do understand that there will be waste yarn when finished but 8 inches?! I don't understand why I would do that.
Good question! The tail at the beginning gets tied to the final warp end. Having some excess makes that process easier. Give it a try with a shorter length too!
The meters on your warp depends on your project! In this specific project, we used 3 different colors of warp yarn that totaled of 119 meters (or 130 yards).
You are so convincing. I think I'll walk away from the frame loom (for a while) and start weaving on a loom like yours.
