I remember being completely mind boggled by the depth of Zero Dawn’s story. I hope Forbidden West does the same. Such an epic game. Forbidden West has some big shoes to fill.
Yes, I bought the game for robot dinosaurs but was blown away by the depth of the story. I venture to say its story and revealing is comparable to the first time I saw the Matrix.
I would have found the story mind-blowing even in a sci-fi novel. The fact that video games these days have such stories is amazing, what a time to be alive :)
Yeah it was definitely a jaw dropping moment. The way our current world is I can see something similar happening. Mankind can be its own worst enemy sometimes.
Mythos of HZD is fantastic! However, this recap does a painful disservice to that story by painfully misleading/misinforming. This recap has two massive fails: • it groups all machines together • their breakdown of the “the save humanity” projects (a sterile earth was expected hence the project initiatives.) Pretty sure the author here never played the game or never finished it.
Im getting ready for it, ive been jumping into the world of zero dawn and just exploring it, doing the side quests ive missed etc, i cant be bothered doing the campaign again, i still remember what happened just dont have the time to run through it again, i cant wait for the sequel next month
So pumped for the sequel. Here's something I would like to see or have explained. The machines are computers, essentially. The humans dismantle the machines for supplies. Why hasn't anyone, in the world, looked into harnessing the machines computing capabilities?
Where i get confused is if gaia ended the plague and got rid of the machines , how are there still machines to fight? Did she make new ones and if she did why would she make new ones when they caused the plague in the first place
Man I need to beat the first one still I was loving the game, it's just one of those things where when you just wanna take a short break from playing one and then it just gets sidelined in the backlog Since it's such a big game, now when I booted up I have that feeling of "wtf was I doing again?"
I bought it 2 years ago, made it almost halfway, and same thing happened to me. I picked it back up, and forced myself to relearn the other week. Been playing the hell out of it ever since

I'm just at that point where I have so much less time to play that it can be hard sometimes committing to these long open world action games/RPGs I'm definitely excited to give it another try though
@@schwubmexx they Showed Sylens at the end of the game and he caught Hades, so you knew he was in this one. Unless the skipped him being in this game ( Forbidden West) for what ever next one game they brought out. If they do these well from from the first one being incredibly and the second looking good so far. They can do a great story for 3 to 4 games minimum and I would Love that. Myself I hope they stay as big open wide as they are or even get bigger.
i always question how in the world are the characters dressed like tribal characters back in the old ages when this civilization suppose to be way far in advance than we are today. We see suits talking science yet our main character dresses like in the B.C era. One feedback is possibly the lack of materials but what lack of materials? There's tons of easy machines that are out there to take materials from. Why arent we all dressed in highly flexible armor suit that better protect us than the fabrics they wear?
I think it's worth noting that all the knowledge humanity had ever possessed about history and the world itself was erased because of Ted Faro. The characters we see in the game probably can't even imagine what people used to wear before or what was their idea of the future. They use durable materials they gather from the machines and they put them together, because it offers protection and durability, but it also results in their outfits looking tribal-esque. That's my opinion. However, it looks like Tilda's outfit is in line with your expectations.
Because the subfunction apollo was created to save historical and scientific discoveries so the new generation of humans could one day take control of the terraforming system but ted faro hacked gaia prime's core control and deleted apollo,which is why humans in the present day have no knowledge of the old world,when they were released from the cradle they shaped their mythology's around the objects and symbol's they saw
There's a battle armor you can obtain in the later stages of the game. You have to do some side missions to find it. It's definitely cool and shows how humanity can compete with the machines. The armor has a futuristic aesthetic

I never liked the whole story. So, humans made the mistake of making self suficient machines, and to counter this... they made yet MANY self sentient machine, where one took control of all others and which Alloy had to destroy centuries later.
One of the coolest worlds in recent gaming, so excited for Forbidden west !

I was so blown away with the story in Zero Dawn. It went places I wasn't expecting. I'm excited to see how Forbidden West expands on the lore.

I don’t think the machines will be “destroyed”. I think they will be the answer. Gaia’s creations, I mean.
I want to know if we can fly on those Sun Wings. I have a feeling that late in the game we can traverse hard to reach areas with these machines.
