So because you watched a 20 minute video on Ben Arthur's channel today, you want to come over to my video (which you clearly didn't watch) and try and lecture me about watches? This automatic watch I reviewed is actually quite good in terms of specs and materials (sapphire crystal, screw down crown, power reserve complication, Italian leather strap with double deployant clasp, etc) with nice finishing and accuracy. I would also bet you didn't know that the Miyota 9100 series movement in this watch was designed to compete with the Swiss ETA 2824-2. So please take your own advice and inform yourself before you tell others to be informed. If you had watched my video you would know that I gave up any affiliate status from Filippo Loreti so that I could take a look at this watch and give it an unbiased review, not about the company or their marketing, but strictly about the watch. Here's the difference between us, I'm an actual watch enthusiast, but you're just another watch snob. 🤷♂️

I don’t think that is a good idea or business practice actually. I can’t explain that though, that’s not the point of my video, I just simply wanted to see what the watch was like and review the watch. There’s videos like Ben’s that describe the business controversy much better than I ever could.
Came here looking for some honest opinions about the watches, as I found some designs on their site that I really liked. But on reflection, even though they are reasonably priced and look great, the company is just so gross, there is no way I could wear one. Which is a real shame, as if they were honest, I probably would have buy one.
Great review. Actually really impressed with the movement choice at this price point. I had totally expected it to be a Chinese movement with that many complications, but a Miyota 9000 series is pretty awesome. Watch looks really nice too.

Don't fall for it, the entire brand is a scam. Just look at their comments on their kickstarter page or Trustpilot. And this David guy cannot say anything bad about the brand, it's in the affiliate agreement. In particular point 6: "Partners must respect brand integrity and display the brand in a positive and favourable way at all times, images should be clear, ad copy should be spelt correctly and make sense and any images or ad copy should be sent for approval before being published." Don't fall for it, people.
You don’t want to know my real response. The paid promotion is required anytime you receive a free product, get paid, or compensation for anything in the review/video. Omg) another paid advertising of a cheap Chinese watch. The guy I know was wearing it. He was complaining about it more than an hour. A lot of dust under the glass. Very bad quality and look.
I bought an earlier model of this watch. It's very similar, but has an exhibition back and a "lollipop" seconds hand as well as skeleton type hour and minute hands, which I actually like a bit better. It's the same movement though and is the same other than those small things. I got it as a kickstarter reward, and before I even got the watch I allowed negative reviews of the company online to make me regret the purchase. When the watch came I just chucked it in a drawer. Now it's a few years later, and I finally took a close look at the watch, and my impression is the same as yours. I actually really like it. The movement is very respectable, and the finishing of the case and dial are very nice. I toned down the dressiness of the watch with a brown saddle leather strap, and to be honest I think it's great. I have completely changed my mind about it. I was gratified to see in your review you had the same findings.
It’s a great watch, Keith, and as you mentioned all the negative associations with the brand are what give it any bad stigma, but if it was any other brand name, people would likely have a completely different view on it. Kudos for reviewing this brand. Personally I wouldn’t justify myself reviewing any watch. I don’t appeal to the watch snobs. With that being said, the watch is way too dark for me. Now I did see others on their website and was honestly impressed with their designs. I agree with you on that. Looking forward to the black out one despite it being something I wouldn’t personally own, it’s a cool looking piece.

A Miyota series 9000 movement is pretty good, but to be honest you can also find a movement of that series (also with a dome sapphire cristal and a butterfly deployment clasp) on the Cadisen C8097 that retails for 5 time less than this one, for around 100 dollars during the black friday sale, maybe you could give that one a try

Tbh i like what they've done to the hands. They gave 2 finishings, one side polished and one side brushed. With that, the hands won't be invisible even with dark dials. Same things with the Seiko SARB033.
Not one negative aspect of this watch, all positive they’ve been proved to be cheap Chinese junk but it’s reviewed like it’s a new Rolex model. Such an embarrassment.
Not partial to the brand or the look of this particular model. I appreciate you taking on a review of what is certainly a contentious brand. I also appreciate you foregoing the affiliate status. I believe the review is an honest one and should be taken at face value.

Great video first off. It did change my opinion somewhat. This is a nice looking watch and as you say great specs. As watch reviewers we have both seen a lot less for a lot more money! I’m not a fan of the strap colour here but never a problem as that’s a personal preference. I love the case back and the complications it has. With all the hate that these guys get i have to say to be fair this one has a decent set of specs & looks pretty well made, the all blacked out look is cool but maybe a legibility issue (well for my rubbish eyesight haha) I think that maybe part of the reason for the hate they get may have something to do with the way they market themselves. I'm not sold on them yet but I'll watch the review of the other one you picked up with interest. Kudos to you for going with it too! 😁🍻

Great timepiece, Dave. I never heard of FL before and do not think I would spend over $400 at this time, but I'd say the watch looks awesome and certainly worth its price. Look forward to seeing your review for the black model you purchased.

Not my style of watch, it's big, bulky and simple mirror finish. The dial colour is ok with the white lettering and numbers. The butterfly clasp looks cheap but the strap looks ok. A quick note, a watch may not be regulated if it's keeping better time, it just means it's within spec. You may get another exact same watch running +30 sec/day.

The specifications are really good for the pricing and its a good looking watch. The issue i have with this brand is the claims they make in their advertising, some things they say are a little close to the line of misleading

I own multiple pieces from this brand. Apart from what others say about the brand being shady and overpriced, I think they are actually in their true price point. Their designs are sleek and pretty, and I honestly cannot find the good balance of similar quality and look from other brands.
Looks like a pretty good watch for what it has. The Miyota 9000 series of movement is a nice pick. And it even uses the power reserve indicator of this movement. I do know the brand is about to release a Swiss-made soon (and I do have a funny story to go with it too).
Definitely was done really well imo, that movement with the power reserve was really nicely done, I completely agree. I know the brand struggles with the stigma they had created but I like a lot of their designs and if they have a Swiss made option that’s a big step in the right direction! 😎👍

However I do think it's a tough sell for a fashion brand to jump to the $500 range but if you can deal with that seems good value. Reminds a little of some Bulovas. Great review bud. Please review the Sugess MoonPhase Master SU1908CSB, no one on youtube has reviewed it, it has sapphire crystal, seagull movement, moonphase mechanical chrono, for 180 usd. Incredible value for the price and a more justified purchase imo

Nice man! Glad to see you doing this review and you did a great job! Definitely a controversial brand. I have 2 of their watches, both quartz but feel really solid quality and I was able to get a good deal for them for their $99 each promotion and added discount code only paid $188 total for 2 which isn’t bad. However, a lot of their watches are overpriced, especially the automatic ones in my opinion. They are definitely better than Daniel Wellington and MVMT but the money they spend on marketing could go to improving their watches. Their customer service is also not the best and they take forever to send their watches because most of their watches are “made to order” instead of having it in stock. My watches took 2 months. Not sure I’ll be getting any more watches from them, at least not unless they are in stock and depending on the price.

This is such an overpriced watch. You praise them for using the Miyota 9100 which costs like 130$ if you buy it separately, which means Filippo Loreti most likely paid even less. The rest of the watch does not justify the price tag they've slapped on it. For anyone interested there is a Parnis watch on AliExpress for around 200$ with the same movement, same 316l stainless steel and sapphire crystal. The design of the Filippo Loreti does not justify a whopping 300$ difference between it and the Parnis.
Lol I guess 🤷🏻♂️ I can find lots of cheaper options for you but again my whole reason for checking out the brand was to see if the watch is as bad as people claim. In this particular model I don’t think it’s a bad watch, regardless of the brand. I took a chance on checking them out and yes I praise them for going with the miyota 9100 and not some Chinese movement. Their other automatic gives the option of a NH35 for lower cost or a Sellita SW200 for a bit more premium, I praise them more for that even being an option.
A nice watch overall, just a shame that the brand is a little bit shady. The watch itself, a lil bit overpriced, maybe $200-300ish is a fair deal. But that lug-to-lug size and the overhang is massive.
Yeah, It is definitely something I should have pointed out more as a con now that I think about it. Just a tad shorter would have been more desirable to suit more wrist sizes. I appreciate the honest feedback and yeah, I think if the brand can recover from their shady history it wouldn't be a bad deal in the 200-300 range. 😎🍻👍

Hi Dansam95, thanks for watching my video, I do appreciate your honesty. Yes, I’m aware, but I wanted to see if the quality was as bad as people say. The only way to know is to get one in my hands. I have two in my hands. Sure you can buy a Pagani Design, a Starking, a Corgeut, Parnis, and on and on. Tons of videos on those all over TH-cam. You know what’s not on TH-cam? Automatics from this brand. So I got a couple, took a look and gave my thoughts. I personally would not buy one full price, but if I found one used for under $300, sure. I bought the matte black Venice on eBay knowing I could just buy a Cadisoak in SS but I liked the blacked out look of the FL. You’ll have to understand that I buy what I want and post what I want on my TH-cam channel. Thanks for at least giving my video a chance, please understand this video was the exception to my content and not the rule.

I like the layers of the dial, but not the case thickness that goes along with it. And I hate the crown... bulge... and how the lugs stick out way past the strap when it is angled downward. Combine all that with the Filippo Loretti reputation, and I'd pass on this. Kudos for not taking the affiliate paycheck, but I'm curious why you only mentioned positives, when a VERY visible negative was present (i.e. the lugs being way too long for where the strap connects, basically making this watch not suitable for people with smaller wrists).
I don't have small wrists so I didn't see that as a con or negative. Some may not believe this, but the lug shape actually works in favor for smaller wrists (6.25"-7" I'd imagine)because with the way the leather curves downward from those spring bars, it follows the shape of the lugs so instead of a short lug with the leather coming straight downward, its gives a more curved look. I do think the lug to lug height is a bit long and I even mention that in the video for people to take note as that would actually be a con for shorter wrists or smaller wrists. I guess a con would be lack of lume but I don't typically expect lume on dress watches so I didn't mention that. The date window couldn't really be positioned anywhere else with how busy the dial is so I didn't bring up the 4 o clock position as a con. The case thickness could be smaller so that could be a con to list. Either way, I appreciate your more honest comment man. I think if even a handful of the guys hating this video had looked at my channel they'd see my actual appreciation for lots of different watches and but this has really opened my eyes to how being a "TH-camr" can be lol. But for now, it is what it is I suppose. I am just thankful my subscribers and fans saw this video for the way it was meant to be seen and that's what matters most to me.

I guess with as many watches I've reviewed I just didn't really see many cons in this one since I was expecting fashion watch specs/quality like I've seen with MVMT or DW. I was aware of the issues stated with regard to the brand, but that's why I wanted to take a look at the watch separated from all of that and base it on how well the watch itself is or isn't. I'm responding to comments because the people making comments don't seem to watch this video or just out right ignore the parts where I am completely transparent about why I received the watch, gave up any affiliate status, and was curious as to what the watch would be like. I purchased one because they are not expensive watches and I put my money where my mouth is (it wasn't just about getting some free watch from a brand, I was legit curious). One thing that Ben got wrong was that not everyone who receives the watch is put into a contract. I never was, I never got any money, I was never told what to say or not say. I just told Filippo Loreti that my watch followers would be much more interested in an automatic to see how it is overall, not the quartz watches that there are already countless reviews on. It matters because people have a false idea about MY review and MY situation. I don't have anything to hide that's why I don't turn off comments or the like/dislike ratio, etc. But unfortunately, they're all wrong about my experience and intent with this video. This is probably the last comment I will reply to, its exhausting.

A pair of Lithuanians who source their parts from Shenzhen China and stick a load of BS about Italian luxury in their branding? For the £419 they want for this watch I could source between two excellent automatics from Orient and 10 auto/quartz Chinese watches which actually would have sapphire crystals, good build quality and reliable and unashamedly Chinese. Either these are tremendously good looking in person and don't photograph well or I think you are being, shall we say, a little less than impartial !
Have i changed my mind, sorry, but No. Try Harder. Had FL not Mislead consumers and still do and until they fulfill all the orders that customers either never received or had to wait months, the lack of communication etc, basically A lot of Dodgy practices, for these reasons I would never recommend this watch, even though they've made a slight improvement. They have a long way to go, to turn around the negative view they've earned themselves

It’s a great watch, Keith, and as you mentioned all the negative associations with the brand are what give it any bad stigma, but if it was any other brand name, people would likely have a completely different view on it. Kudos for reviewing this brand. Personally I wouldn’t justify myself reviewing any watch. I don’t appeal to the watch snobs. With that being said, the watch is way too dark for me. Now I did see others on their website and was honestly impressed with their designs. I agree with you on that. Looking forward to the black out one despite it being something I wouldn’t personally own, it’s a cool looking piece.

A Miyota series 9000 movement is pretty good, but to be honest you can also find a movement of that series (also with a dome sapphire cristal and a butterfly deployment clasp) on the Cadisen C8097 that retails for 5 time less than this one, for around 100 dollars during the black friday sale, maybe you could give that one a try

Tbh i like what they've done to the hands. They gave 2 finishings, one side polished and one side brushed. With that, the hands won't be invisible even with dark dials. Same things with the Seiko SARB033.
Not one negative aspect of this watch, all positive they’ve been proved to be cheap Chinese junk but it’s reviewed like it’s a new Rolex model. Such an embarrassment.

Great video first off. It did change my opinion somewhat. This is a nice looking watch and as you say great specs. As watch reviewers we have both seen a lot less for a lot more money!
I’m not a fan of the strap colour here but never a problem as that’s a personal preference. I love the case back and the complications it has.

With all the hate that these guys get i have to say to be fair this one has a decent set of specs & looks pretty well made, the all blacked out look is cool but maybe a legibility issue (well for my rubbish eyesight haha) I think that maybe part of the reason for the hate they get may have something to do with the way they market themselves.

Not my style of watch, it's big, bulky and simple mirror finish. The dial colour is ok with the white lettering and numbers. The butterfly clasp looks cheap but the strap looks ok. A quick note, a watch may not be regulated if it's keeping better time, it just means it's within spec. You may get another exact same watch running +30 sec/day.

The specifications are really good for the pricing and its a good looking watch. The issue i have with this brand is the claims they make in their advertising, some things they say are a little close to the line of misleading

I own multiple pieces from this brand. Apart from what others say about the brand being shady and overpriced, I think they are actually in their true price point. Their designs are sleek and pretty, and I honestly cannot find the good balance of similar quality and look from other brands.
Looks like a pretty good watch for what it has. The Miyota 9000 series of movement is a nice pick. And it even uses the power reserve indicator of this movement.
I do know the brand is about to release a Swiss-made soon (and I do have a funny story to go with it too).
Definitely was done really well imo, that movement with the power reserve was really nicely done, I completely agree. I know the brand struggles with the stigma they had created but I like a lot of their designs and if they have a Swiss made option that’s a big step in the right direction! 😎👍

Please review the Sugess MoonPhase Master SU1908CSB, no one on youtube has reviewed it, it has sapphire crystal, seagull movement, moonphase mechanical chrono, for 180 usd. Incredible value for the price and a more justified purchase imo

I have 2 of their watches, both quartz but feel really solid quality and I was able to get a good deal for them for their $99 each promotion and added discount code only paid $188 total for 2 which isn’t bad. However, a lot of their watches are overpriced, especially the automatic ones in my opinion. They are definitely better than Daniel Wellington and MVMT but the money they spend on marketing could go to improving their watches. Their customer service is also not the best and they take forever to send their watches because most of their watches are “made to order” instead of having it in stock. My watches took 2 months. Not sure I’ll be getting any more watches from them, at least not unless they are in stock and depending on the price.

This is such an overpriced watch. You praise them for using the Miyota 9100 which costs like 130$ if you buy it separately, which means Filippo Loreti most likely paid even less. The rest of the watch does not justify the price tag they've slapped on it.
For anyone interested there is a Parnis watch on AliExpress for around 200$ with the same movement, same 316l stainless steel and sapphire crystal. The design of the Filippo Loreti does not justify a whopping 300$ difference between it and the Parnis.
Lol I guess 🤷🏻♂️ I can find lots of cheaper options for you but again my whole reason for checking out the brand was to see if the watch is as bad as people claim. In this particular model I don’t think it’s a bad watch, regardless of the brand. I took a chance on checking them out and yes I praise them for going with the miyota 9100 and not some Chinese movement. Their other automatic gives the option of a NH35 for lower cost or a Sellita SW200 for a bit more premium, I praise them more for that even being an option.
A nice watch overall, just a shame that the brand is a little bit shady.
The watch itself, a lil bit overpriced, maybe $200-300ish is a fair deal. But that lug-to-lug size and the overhang is massive.
Yeah, It is definitely something I should have pointed out more as a con now that I think about it. Just a tad shorter would have been more desirable to suit more wrist sizes. Hi Dansam95, thanks for watching my video, I do appreciate your honesty. Yes, I’m aware, but I wanted to see if the quality was as bad as people say. The only way to know is to get one in my hands. I have two in my hands. Sure you can buy a Pagani Design, a Starking, a Corgeut, Parnis, and on and on. Tons of videos on those all over TH-cam. You know what’s not on TH-cam? Automatics from this brand. So I got a couple, took a look and gave my thoughts. I personally would not buy one full price, but if I found one used for under $300, sure. I bought the matte black Venice on eBay knowing I could just buy a Cadisoak in SS but I liked the blacked out look of the FL. You’ll have to understand that I buy what I want and post what I want on my TH-cam channel. Thanks for at least giving my video a chance, please understand this video was the exception to my content and not the rule.

I like the layers of the dial, but not the case thickness that goes along with it. And I hate the crown... bulge... and how the lugs stick out way past the strap when it is angled downward. Combine all that with the Filippo Loretti reputation, and I'd pass on this.
Kudos for not taking the affiliate paycheck, but I'm curious why you only mentioned positives, when a VERY visible negative was present (i.e. the lugs being way too long for where the strap connects, basically making this watch not suitable for people with smaller wrists).
I don't have small wrists so I didn't see that as a con or negative. Some may not believe this, but the lug shape actually works in favor for smaller wrists (6.25"-7" I'd imagine)because with the way the leather curves downward from those spring bars, it follows the shape of the lugs so instead of a short lug with the leather coming straight downward, its gives a more curved look. I do think the lug to lug height is a bit long and I even mention that in the video for people to take note as that would actually be a con for shorter wrists or smaller wrists. I guess a con would be lack of lume but I don't typically expect lume on dress watches so I didn't mention that. The date window couldn't really be positioned anywhere else with how busy the dial is so I didn't bring up the 4 o clock position as a con. The case thickness could be smaller so that could be a con to list. Either way, I appreciate your more honest comment man. I think if even a handful of the guys hating this video had looked at my channel they'd see my actual appreciation for lots of different watches and but this has really opened my eyes to how being a "TH-camr" can be lol. But for now, it is what it is I suppose. I am just thankful my subscribers and fans saw this video for the way it was meant to be seen and that's what matters most to me.

I guess with as many watches I've reviewed I just didn't really see many cons in this one since I was expecting fashion watch specs/quality like I've seen with MVMT or DW. I was aware of the issues stated with regard to the brand, but that's why I wanted to take a look at the watch separated from all of that and base it on how well the watch itself is or isn't. I'm responding to comments because the people making comments don't seem to watch this video or just out right ignore the parts where I am completely transparent about why I received the watch, gave up any affiliate status, and was curious as to what the watch would be like. I purchased one because they are not expensive watches and I put my money where my mouth is (it wasn't just about getting some free watch from a brand, I was legit curious). One thing that Ben got wrong was that not everyone who receives the watch is put into a contract. I never was, I never got any money, I was never told what to say or not say. I just told Filippo Loreti that my watch followers would be much more interested in an automatic to see how it is overall, not the quartz watches that there are already countless reviews on. It matters because people have a false idea about MY review and MY situation. I don't have anything to hide that's why I don't turn off comments or the like/dislike ratio, etc. But unfortunately, they're all wrong about my experience and intent with this video. This is probably the last comment I will reply to, its exhausting.
