    I am a Korean photographer.
    I've never been there, but it's so beautiful.
    Beautiful mountains, clear water, clean air...
    I'm going to heal thanks to you.
    Thank you.

    Very rugged terrane and dangerous. One snow storm and the trail would be buried. So glad your in a strong group. Amazing video! You rock it Feathers!

    What an adventure. The water can be so dangerous. Those hikers can be grateful that you caught them when the current got to be too much.

    You always seem so calm, even in the presence of extreme hazards! I can tell from the vlogs you’re with a super strong group, both mentally and physically! The water is probably the most intimidating aspect for me. Beautiful but OMG, the power! Such good video! Kudos Feathers.

    Congrats on 800 miles. Anybody floating down that roaring stream would not have made it. Big congratulations for lifesaving. I am surprised that no one was carrying a rope for the crossings. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick

    always envisioned myself doing the PCT solo, as a personal challenge for fun. no guts, no glory, right? LOL, but i can see solo navigation over the Sierras' definitely going to be a major challenge. think i will do it 1 or 2 months later into the season, when most of the snow is gone. then crunch out major miles over the snow-free, river-calmer trails. hopefully, starting out later in the season, the earlier PCT desert parts won't be too hot to hike through. thank you for posting, feathers. gives me stuff to think about.

    Hello Kate, happy Thursday to you. Sincere thanks for wonderful filming and your excellent narrating. I would have been praying every step while crossing the bridge. You maintained your composure extremely well. It doesn't get much more challenging than that. Please, take good care of yourself. Kate, this is truly an award winning video. 🤗

    I am still astonished at the amount of snow still in the sierras in July. 85 degrees, melting snow mean wet and wild creek and river crossings. YIKES SAFE HIKING

    Love your videos of the PCT. Like to see one of the typical daily trail life of Feathers from when you get up in the morning until you hit the hay at night. Keep up the vids.

    Awespme video :-)
    That dinasaur looking rock is called Fin Dome.
    If you watched Homemade Wanderlust's videos from 2017, I believe that same creek (White Fork?) shook her up and stopped her for the night. A guy I met on my trip in 2004 said the accent up Woods Creek made him think of Rivendell from The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings, because of all the flowing water.
    If you haven't passed it already, the Tuolumne River below Glen Aulin has a series of waterfalls/cascades that should be amazing this year. Late afternoon would be best. They are maybe 3 or 4 miles downstream from the PCT, tho...

    That snow melt water has to taste so good after some of the questionable sources you've had to draw from in the last several hundred miles. Strong heart, girl.

    That water is Moving ...We had a small creek that ran through our backyard when I lived in Ohio .
    It barely flowed in the summer .But after winter as the snow melted ..Whew lordy that water flowed ..scarily fast

    Wow! Some of the wildest scenery yet. And yes, some "sketchy" stretches there! And thank goodness for that bridge, but it kind of got to me watching it! Wow--I just assumed that 1/2 of the group was going to exit--not that they couldn't get across a raging river. WOW! Be careful out there! Enjoying your videos--this one kept me at rapt attention!! THANKS!

    I think if I made it across the bridge (which I wouldn't) then getting wet in the river crossing would be a piece of cake . I think they should tell people to take a rope with them on that part of the trail.

    (4 minutes in) I'm wondering how many in your group ? A lot ! If I didn't know better I'd think that I was watching a video shot in the Himalayas and an expedition to Everest ! Certainly doesn't look like the PCT and Sierra Nevada in JULY !

    Congrats on y’all’s 800. Only 1 at a time on the bridge and you made him go first. How are your knees holding up in the cold terrain? I hope all is well. Beautiful video! Stay safe and thank you for sharing your journey. The lipgloss makes your tan more pronounced.

    Can you imagine what it would be like to cross that bridge in high winds. Before your time but being from Washington then you know about Galloping Gertie before her demise . Plunging to the cold waters below.

    • @KateCloud
      @KateCloud  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not like the AT, there are PCT markers (emblems) if you will....but very spread out, wore, or often times missing. They aren't really anything you can rely on.

      Where she went to the creek for the view was parallel to the trail (South Fork of Woods Creek). That joins with the North Fork, the one she sees later coming down the slabs. They join just upstream from the suspension bridge.

    Also out of curiosity, besides ur Solomon shoes, what r u using 4 foot wear...?? nice job girl!!!!

    • @KateCloud
      @KateCloud  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My knee highs are Smartwool and are my thin layer over which I normally wear a pair of darn toughs -(I keep 2 pairs of darn toughs) I also keep one thick cozy pair of sock for camp/sleeping only (always dry). And for camp shoes I have a pair of Xeros sandals...they're the best! Have had them since my Appalachian Trail Thru-hike. Oh, I also have a pair of Black Diamond Steel Crampons with 10, 2" spikes and a set pf micro sprikes.

      @@KateCloud thanks for feed back!!!
      Do you use a plastic bag in between socks to help keep feet dry and alittle warmer????? I've heard this trick from a couple of other thru hikers but haven't tried it my self yet...
      Your doing a really great job out there Kate and I love the video wrk. It's truly appreciated 👍🏼🤗
