July 1961 I went to the European Jazz Festival in Antibes, drove all the way in from Nottingham in my green Austin A35, YRR 67. Great journey, great music.
Awesome meet ,98 Austin's amazing stuff well done everyone. Each one of you make the clubs and the Rallys. Good to see English motoring heritage in safe hands.🇬🇧 From 🇦🇺
Thank you Tim! Awesome to hear from New Zealand. You are absolutely right! These are great people and they are the ones that make the club. I hope they soon get to organise a new International meet. Take care! From 🇳🇱 (Netherlands)
Excellent video i always liked the A30/35 more than the Morris Minor it has so much character, round our way it was affectionately known as the peanut!
At the time they were current, I never thought too much of the A35. I was more into Armstrong Siddeleys (in a theoretical sense). But sixty years later, I adore them. Can anyone tell me why the vans had different door panels from the saloon car? With that strange extra indentation.
I think it was to compliment the panels where the windows could be fitted. Two indentations where also added underneath the “window panel” A true panel van. And you are correct, the indentations where only added to the Van’s. There is one more detail… later vans were fitted with a piece of extra chrome trim along the side of the car. Also differentiating them from the Saloons
Great video, really enjoyed it. I'd just finished watching 2 hours of Bangers and Cash (Mathewsons Motor Auctions) then this was recommended by TH-cam. Arguably the best looking small car of the last 40 years?
Thanks! Means a lot to me, hearing that the video is enjoyed. I think it is indeed the perfect marriage of styling and cost effective engineering of the time. Lovely to drive. Lots of people smiling and waving ;-)
I have very fond memories of going to stay with lesbian "aunts' in the 50s who had an A35. I live in Australia these days and the A35 wasn't sold here, but I would love one.
Hello John, we were brought up in Westport New Zealand. Back around 1955/56 my eldest brother purchased a new A35 from the local agent, so they were available in NZ. It was a great little car to drive, i was only 15 and 16 then, and drove it often. I remember a guy in our town, bought the little ute model A35, i think he used it in connection with his work, something to do with livestock. Regards, Bob, across the ditch.
1963 I went to Southend airport and flew with it (A 35) to Deauville, drove to the south of France for a camping holiday then returned via Deauville and Southend. 1964 left for Canada and drove a Ford with a V8 engine. Click on me fo more info REPLY

That was really good thank you 🤗
Paul Evans Thanks! I do my best. The video can be quite boring if you are not into these cars...
I had one of these in 1978, reg 2930F.

A-series power!
Some are really powerful, yes!
Wot, no freenas?
Beautiful cars. These cars ruled the roads of North Borneo once
They are very nice!
I'LL bet this lot are a right bundle of laughs down the pub !!!..Yaaawwwwwwwwn.
My first car was a 1958 A35 - the brakes were lousy on these cars - I upgraded to hydraulics all round - discs on front, drums and rear
Yes that is one very common upgrade. Disk brakes on the front already makes a huge improvement!
great Vid, do you know is the A30 CCW 434 still extant? registered in Burnley
hoppinonabronzeleg you might want to contact the Austin A30-A35 owners club. They might be able to check for you.
If you are into axle tramp then buy yourself an A30 or A35. You will become a master of clutch control!

John Thorpe. Glad to hear you enjoyed my video! I know there is an Australian club: www.austina30.asn.au
