Hey, Nice video very helpful, but i have one question what exactly are the step size maps doing. Do they change the values of the igniotion map or what is the actual use of it?
Step size is how many degrees timing will be subtracted from your base timing table during decel. The bigger the step size, the more aggressive the timing retarding

Not much of a difference besides loading different rom Raider definitions. Just remember to log fuel trims to see what fueling adjustments need to be made. Idle fueling may change as well. You should see tables for that too
Hello. I have one question: Why I don’t have diagnostic trouble codes options and at folder limiters, engine speed limiter (mt) or (at). I have latest rom raider from may 2022. Thanks
My BIN file (partial from my ECU) does not have the "Engine Speed Limiter" (AT or MT), nor Speed Correction, so no rev limit limited by speed, then no Launch Control possible 🙁
I know that you are probably tired of me 😂 but I finally got everything to work but when I do the LC I followed your section on it but now i can’t get it to rev over 3000rpm how to I change it so I can still have LC but when I’m not using it still let me go above 3000rpm if that makes sense.
Timing I add a few degrees in every single cell, fuel I don't usually touch unless some of the fuel trims are way off. Do some logging before you touch that table
@@workout3389 You can convert from MS41.1 to MS41.2 but not MS41.0. You just need to flash a full bin from an M3, then copy over all your 328 specific values over like the fuel and timing tables. I think there's a guide on the romraider forums
hii! thanks for all this videos! I appreciated it a lot. One question: Is it possible to tune fuel map (for instance) without a wideband? only with the narrowband that is installed in a standard car (e36 325i for instance again jjjj)? I was wondering if it is a good idea, tune it by myself, car and PC. :D Thankkksss
Yes, very easily. I think one of my other videos covers this but you'll need megalog viewer and make table with the same axis as your fuel table. Then log fuel trims and plot long term + short term and make your corrections based on that. Fuel trims are based on your stock narrow bands. So as long as their in working condition you should be good. Try to get your trims within 5%
Hello!! I have one question about logging, i have take a log looking for knock degree values, it was a wot pull at 2-3 gears. Always reading 0 so no knock. But i looked for LTV values (F6 at romraider logger) and it is showing some knock retard at certain rpm and load ... What values i should care about?
Clear out the long terms and see if they come back. If so, subtract that from your main ignition table, clear it again and see if it's fixed. You could have bad knock sensors, wiring or just a resonance at that specfic rpm the sensor is picking up
@@CanyonTuned Is it valid to clear the values with ms4x? I did it last weekend... I dont find a reason to getting absolutelty anything of knock at logging but the LTV menu show a little... Also a little difference between each 6 tables (cilinders). Maybe a bad coil/injector? Thank you!!
@@agdwhite5421 Clear the values in the LTV menu, and each table represents different load areas not individual cylinders. Look at the x-axis of the table, it's load. Y-axis is RPM. So just match that up to your main ignition table

I know the ECU can be switched from an auto to a manual , bimmerforums has a pretty good description of how to do it , but it requires a pc with a serial port . Is this something you can do with the software you’re using and the USB cable ?
I've never had a reason to look into it, but you can attempt to do a full write (128k file) and see if it works. Just be careful because it could brick your dme. I'd start looking into if the processors and dme pinouts are the same across them first
Is there anyway to program an on off switch based on throttle position with a stock ecu? I have a supercharger with a magnetic clutch and I want to have it turn on when the throttle body reaches a certain point. If not, do you suggest any way around this?
There's WOT logic in the ecu but I don't think you can trigger custom events, you may want to look at the wiring pin out on the pedal itself and see if there's a wot wire. Tapping off that signal and running it to a relay then to your supercharger might work
@@CanyonTuned okay thank you! One more question, so when you set the low speed rev limiter and talked of adjusting the main tables for shooting flames like a sort of 2 step, wouldn’t those adjustments affect driving in the 3000 rpm range because it was adjusted on the main table and would not apply only to when you aren’t moving/under the speed you set rev limit too
