I think it’s not bad timing either… the court has shown itself to be corrupt at this point and things have reached the breaking point with maintaining a system of equality under the law in the U.S.
Having these real life examples of how, for example the ethics system of the court or self recusal is not working, is important and helpful when approaching the question of reforms.
Plus, at this point there is overwhelming public support to do something.

Good luck. A change to the Supreme Court regarding term limits and a retirement age would require a constitutional amendment. That would need a 2/3 majority in both houses, not to be vetoed by the president, and then ratified by 3/4 of the states. That will never happen, and just stacking the court with more libel justices would likely not fly well with the citizenry.

there are a lot of things to reform in the US constitutional process. the constitution written by Thomas Jefferson in 1789 was one of a third world country, incapable of assuring the safety and security to its citizens,, crippled by pervasive crime, corruption and banditism. this is why for instance it contained the right to carry a weapon, or the protection of fossil fuel industries...etc
now i think that it is adequate to say that the situation of the United States has evolved. and the world has evolved since 1789. the USA went from a poor country largely overpassed by United Kingdom, France, and Germany, to a global superpower which has the first economy in the world, which assures the security of the democratic and capitalist world, and which leads in international institutions. For instance, it now has the means to finance and organize police, and end the law on guns rights which is now jeopardizing the US public safety with mass shootings, and we saw it with Trump's assassination attempt.
our modern time is affected by the climate crisis, thing that is new and not embedded in the US constitution. Climate change is threatening to flood a part of the USA, with New York that can find itself under water, Miami that can find itself under water, California that will experience a severe drought, some parts of the american south in a scenario of plus 4 degrees could find themselves ''unlivable'' because of a too high temperature combined with a too high humidity. this is a really serious issue and the supreme court should join the US administration in tackling climate change, not hampering its efforts.
the electoral college designed for a rural america in 1780 is not representative of the demography of the US states anymore : coastal cities like San Francisco, New York, New Jersey or Los Angeles do concentrate much more population then interior cities of interior states like Iowa, Vermont, Nebraska or Kentucky. we are ending up with elections where a minority of voters choose the president of the United States like in 2016 and 2000, and a president that is picking a non representative supreme court for at least 20 years ! this is absurde.
In the year 2024, other new elements have emerged, like the internet intellectual property, the cybercriminality and the dark web, fake news and election interference on social medias, remote jobs and working from distance, robotisation and Artificial Intelligence that creates a lot of new legal fields... All those things are new to the initial form of the US constitution and its interpretation.
The list of antagonism between the US supreme court and the vaste majority of the american people goes on for womens reproductive rights, for student debt, for expanding medicare... etc
I do think that the US should reform the supreme court system.

For these changes to happen, The President must also have the support of Congress. President Biden has had an advisory committee of Constitutional Scholars for more than a year. Even if this was true, he waited too long to do something that majority saw as a problem. On top if that, he has no time to fix it, and no chance of getting the Congressional support to make it happen. This is just lio service when prior to this we needed action. We needed something real to happen which is now reduced to a campaign slogan/promise. This is one of the things I would attribute to as failure of the Biden Administration for they lacked the courage to address this prior.
