Actually, this song, adopted by INA, probably a hindustani version of 'Jana Gana Mana' which was written in Bengali. .... The tuning is same in every aspect. After Independence, 'Jana gana mana' was chosen over 'Vandemataram', probably due to Nehru ji's preference because Vandemataram was written in Sanskrit( may be a communal angle) .

The question that haunts me is why this gem was not popularized in Independent India and are only coming to fore now…I never heard this song before….such was the delibrate attempt to hide Netaji’s and INA contribution which is the only factor why we got independence. This song was never played on the streets on Independence and republic day like “Sare jahan se accha”, “Ae mere watan ke logon”, “De di hume azadi bina khadak bina dhaal”. Even bollywood patriotic songs were more popular than this. And the reason is apparent. Once known it will lead to the question why it is so similar and yet so different in a better way than the National Anthem. You can not know what he has written, as your knowledge of Bengali is nil. Have you read the entire poem Jana Gana Mana? No, you have not! Read it first, if not in Bengali, then a Hindi translation. It should be clear to you then that it can not be addressed to any human being. Remember: No Indian had ever returned a British knighthood as Tagore did, period. This was true not only for India, but the entire British Empire. Read the correspondence between Tagore and Sister Nivedita regarding the troubles he had with the British Police. Yet you call him a ass kisser of the British! And when Subhash Babu (he was not yet Netaji) was driven away from Congress, it was Tagore who pleaded his case with Gandhiji. If Netaji thought that Tagore was for the British rule, he would not have translated his song into Hindustani, using the same tune composed by Tagore. "Vande Mataram", written by another Bengali Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay was not acceptable to Nehru. Tagore died in 1941, and the version that you sing was mutilated by Nehru at the advice of Mountbatten. It is not the correct first stanza of the poem, but Tagore who did not allow his poems to be mutilated was not alive to object.

The question that haunts me is why this gem was not popularized in Independent India and are only coming to fore now…I never heard this song before….such was the delibrate attempt to hide Netaji’s and INA contribution which is the only factor why we got independence. But despite all that his incredible work and deeds have emerged to inspire the new india of today,…Netaji can never die…

No one hid it. Don't put blame of your ignorance on someone else. Nothing has been changed. It's just that internet is easily accessible and so does these things. Ask yourself, did you bother yourself in finding this earlier? Coz even today it is not being taught, advertised or sung in schools. Nothing has changed. Atleast stop maligning those who gave their sweat in building the India of our dreams.
@@shubhamsiwach6126 Yes it was hidden. The history books of NCERT has deliberately underplayed the Subhash and INA legacy . This song was never played on the streets on Independence and republic day like “Sare jahan se accha”, “Ae mere watan ke logon”, “De di hume azadi bina khadak bina dhaal”. Even bollywood patriotic songs were more popular than this. And the reason is apparent. Once known it will lead to the question why it is so similar and yet so different in a better way than the National Anthem. So while I am happy to take my share of blame the part played by society in underadvertising what should have been otherwise done cannot be ruled out. You cannot expect a person born in 1990s to know all the history by self motivation.By the time one attains the age of self questioning he does ventures out and seek answer.
Also do you know what you know only because you bothered to ? Do you decide what chapters of history and mathematics will be taught to you and in what order to form an inherent bias. Did you ask yourself what is the national anthem or India or what is independence day etc? They all came to you introduced by society in a way and form that you can only understand having matured to a certain age. So yes in that perspective it was hidden. It didn’t came to me in the same way as did the rest of things. When there is no reason for it not to come in the same organic way.
@@rupalkumari5389 Funny arguments. I'd ask a simple question. When has it been played in a street on Independence Day in the last 8 years? Which Republic Day ceremony had this beautiful song? Which celebration, apart from Netaji's birth anniversary can you count as where tthis song was sung.
Nothing has changed, only petty conspiracy theory forwardes by a bigoted party is being played in your mind. Go back to history books of class 8th. You'd find adequate material on Netaji Bose. Maybe you missed it then. And even if you find that he deserved more, that's agreeable. But calling it out as a conspiracy and all, playing in the hands of those who flourish on dividing this country on the basis of past and present, is surely against what Bose would have preached.
Never heard this song in my Entire life After studying 10 years in mission school where most of the Teacher were from Kolkata .

यह राष्ट्रगान अभी के राष्ट्रगान से बहुत बेहतर है, क्योंकि रवींद्रनाथ ठाकुर ने नदियोंऔर पहाड़ों से युक्त भारत के रहने वाले लोगों के मन में बसने वाले अधिनायक ,(यानी अंग्रेजों के किंग) की स्तुति किया है ।भारत अपने मंगल कल्याण के लिए अंग्रेज किंग का शुभ नाम लेकर जागे उसका आशीर्वाद ले और चरण (गाहे ) पकड़कर उसकी जयगाथा सुनाए क्योंकि वही भारत का भाग्य विधाता हैऔर उसकी हमेशा जय हो। इसीलिए यह राष्ट्रगान या वंदे मातरम सबसे अच्छा है।
You are just wrong and biased with no knowledge of Tagore. You are just repeating allegations that have been proved untrue and refuted by Tagore himself. You can not know what he has written, as your knowledge of Bengali is nil. Have you read the entire poem Jana Gana Mana? No, you have not! Read it first, if not in Bengali, then a Hindi translation. It should be clear to you then that it can not be addressed to any human being. Remember: No Indian had ever returned a British knighthood as Tagore did, period. This was true not only for India, but the entire British Empire. Read the correspondence between Tagore and Sister Nivedita regarding the troubles he had with the British Police. Yet you call him a ass kisser of the British! And when Subhash Babu (he was not yet Netaji) was driven away from Congress, it was Tagore who pleaded his case with Gandhiji. If Netaji thought that Tagore was for the British rule, he would not have translated his song into Hindustani, using the same tune composed by Tagore. "Vande Mataram", written by another Bengali Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay was not acceptable to Nehru. Tagore died in 1941, and the version that you sing was mutilated by Nehru at the advice of Mountbatten. It is not the correct first stanza of the poem, but Tagore who did not allow his poems to be mutilated was not alive to object.
