I watched this film and I loved it. I think people in Bollywood should understand how a small budget film can be a best film. The film has shown the real India. Even ths film has no foreign location, no big stars but after you watch it will impact your heart. Such a great movie...

What a bold take on the aspirations of rural India. Ravi Kishan is definitely underrated. Seen the movie with my mom and we literally cried/laughed together. A must watch for every sensible theatre going audience.

Watched it last night and I have to admit, I was blown away by the characters, the story line and felt literally like I was hovering over a small village in India and simply watching as life happened there. Such realism. We need more movies like “Laapata Ladies”

This is film is probably one of the best films i have ever watched...in the end it was just so emotional..i literally was crying....ravi kishan is an absolute legend.....
My favourite scene is when Manju Mai eats Kalakand at last signifying how she finally has a reason to eat something sweet

Watched it in Theatres and again yesterday on Netflix, and both the times I was in the awe of the movie, actors, emotions - laughing crying. Such a refreshing story, not too much on your face not too much trying to prove a point. Subtle beautiful movie.
Would also like to point in this interview how Ravi Kishen constantly appraised each and everyone in every statement of his rven Manju mai ❤

I watched this film and I loved it. I think people in Bollywood should understand how a small budget film can be a best film. The film has shown the real India. Even ths film has no foreign location, no big stars but after you watch it will impact your heart. Such a great movie...

Every part, every section of this movie has its own meaning and it's own message to society. A very inspiring peice. Very much expected from kiran rao and amir khan. The actors were just awesome as well. Literally left me speechless.

"Kaanoon kehte hai ise...." the weight of that voice, brilliantly done by Ravi Kishan. For me the standout performance was of Jaya. She was able to convey all her emotions in an outstanding way
