Whoever skips mega auction or pull out of the IPL should get only the base price amount in the next mini auction. Eg : Starc goes for 25crs. He should receive only 2crs(base price). Remaining 23crs should go to BCCI

So the player like jason roy can decide to put his name on 4cr bracket and teams if they need jason roy they can get for 4 cr . So no confusion between player and the team.

I agree with you ash but just to play devil's advocate this time many were saying it's not hardik's fault bcoz he'll see his best interest financially bcoz he deserves it and also has to feed his family. How about raising the bar for base price? It can be a win-win for both the teams and players. Let's say if a player like Jos butler is coming in auction and he allows himself for a base price like 5 or 7 or 10 cr So even in worst case scenario he will go for his base price assigned. The team where they have already done their homework for the player can select him. If in case he misses an IPL other than injury ,then he will be blocked for a 2-3 years. This feature will be only applicable on mega auction not on mini auction. So the player's will get their fair price on mega auction itself and those who are not retained can go for mini auction
If the base price ceiling is mad unlimited and the players are allowed to choose their minimum asking price, it will easily solve the problem of "no-show for less price". It is a very simple solution. If someone marks their base price as ₹5 CR and the franchises think he is not worth it, he will go unsold. Market forces work best if you also let the player choose his minimum asking price without the ridiculously low ceiling like ₹2 CR or something. Now, if he does get sold at his asking price, he will turn up even if he has to on one leg.
One thing I want to talk about is fan engagement. As a fan, I have no control over whatever my team does. Every franchise is just a business at the end of the day. Some football leagues in the world have some percentage of ownership as public. Would love to hear Ash anna's and Pdogg's thoughts on this

Player X goes for 9 crores, each season he gets only 3 crores, remaining will be paid if he is available/registers for subsequent 2 seasons. Even if unsold, if he registers for the next season, he gets paid, with current 3-year cycle, every player will have to be available for mega auction even if he starts 2nd or 3rd season.
Ipl revenue is 50000 crores, and they are stingy about giving few extra crores to Starc or Cummins who are World Cup winning players. They will not come if these silly rules are in place

If starc or cummins command the same price in the mega auction , no one is going to bat an eye, but to come in the mini auction citing work load issues and bagging monstrous sums is something that has to be stopped and is very unfair to both indians and foreigners who participated in mega auctions.

My suggestion : In the mini auctions year, keep auctions only for Indians and foreigners who registered in mega auctions and a draft system for the names who are registering in mini auction year.
In defence to the pulled out players, Player's should be allowed to set their base price (no 2cr cap). So that they can set the same amount if they would have played other places. Fair to players & team. The chances of pulling out will be less. Also why there's no talk about franchises who go out to splurge the money during mini auction. No players asked to be picked for higher price. I agree that Indian players and foreign players should be treated same.

So by that the player gets fair value the franchise gets satisfied and time is also saved

In defence to the pulled out players,
Player's should be allowed to set their base price (no 2cr cap). So that they can set the same amount if they would have played other places. Fair to players & team. The chances of pulling out will be less.
Also why there's no talk about franchises who go out to splurge the money during mini auction. No players asked to be picked for higher price.
I agree that Indian players and foreign players should be treated same.

I have commented on many places , there should be a salary cap of 70% for Indian players and 30% for foreign players. This will solve many problems
Foreign players are international players while most Indian players are uncapped or out of the comtravt players who will go for 10 20 or 50lac
Indian uncapped should be getting less and max cap of 50L.
If a player does not play previous ipl or is in the second auction due to poor performance then the value of the player should be determined based on lower value of both the auction (current auction and previous auction).
The maximum a player should earn must be capped at 10 crores, with those under the age of 25 earning less than 1 crore. Players will still have opportunities to earn through endorsements and other avenues. This approach could allow 15-20% of IPL profits to be donated to a development board for athletes in other sports. Additionally, they could organize inter-franchise games, like a mini-Olympics, under their franchise names. Only then sports will flourish in India.
