    hi would like to confirm that the Yeston rtx 3050 lp single slot gpu (pink) works in this PC with no issues. I am running it now as we speak in the lower full pcie slot. From things I have read and seen online I was worried about not being able to get a gpu to work on this pc's lower x16 slot. I am happy to say its possible with no issues. I didnt have to do any bios tinkering either to get it to work.

    i would also like to add for anyone concerned about the pcie x4 slot, my single slot yeston plugged into the x16 slot. performed 2 fps worse than your results on shadow of tomb raider benchmark with same settings. So the 2 slot card must perform a bit better... and the x4 slot doesn't seem to hurt it to justify the difference. So, I think its safe to say that the gpu you tested is in the x4 slot is a fine and better choice. The cpu in my 600 g5 is a 9700(not sure how much of a difference that will make) but i cant hit your scores with this yeston... close but not better. I could have saved 40 bucks and went with the dual slot. lol

    I recently made a modification to my power supply. I removed it and took off the cover plate (normally facing down). And installed the power supply upside down. This gives more clearance for airflow but leaves the internals of the power supply exposed. (Don't touch) Lol.
    But if you take the cover you can kinda slide it in a way to cover the side most exposed part of the power supply.
    The end result is more airflow to the gpu

  • @adamcroxton

    Since I just picked up one of these this was a great video to come across. Kinda stinks the pcie slots are in that orientation. What is lost by using the 3050 on that x4 slot vs the x16? Does it degrade the performance any?

      @mathiashaugsb7100 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      According to some people on reddit it should be fine. You will lose on high bandwidth requirements from SSD to GPU. But most games are apparently not that demanding. Example transferring 6GB of game data to GPU VRAM will take longer time

    Nice video! I'm curious, does the PSU supply enough power for the additional GPU?
    I want to do this but with rtx 3060, but i'm not sure if it's even possible considering the form factor and the PSU

    • @itggear
      @itggear  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s not possible to install an RTX 3060 in an HP ProDesk 600 G5 SFF (Small Form Factor) PC. This system only supports low-profile GPU cards. Additionally, the 180W PSU (Power Supply Unit) won’t be sufficient for the power requirements of an RTX 3060.

    The PCI-E pins on GPU may be shorted to MOBO... why not isolated the rest of the pins with atleast tape man....

    So, the GPU is not recognized by the PC if you install it in the PCIe x16, but it is recognized if you install it in the PCIe x4 ?? It seems pretty strange

      @@itggear I have a 400 G6 SFF. I tried everything. The BIOS is not recognizing the RX6400, but Device Manager (apparently) recognize it as a secondary card.
      I said apparently since the GPU is working at very low wattage, and the fan spins only while Windows is booting, and then it stop spinning completely. Sadly, the 400 G6 SFF have a PCIeX1 instead of the PCIeX4.

      You cannot install the RTX 3050 on the PCIe x16 slot because it is too close to the PSU. If you want to install the RTX 3050 LP on the PCIe x4 slot, you need to modify the slot since it is not open-ended. Thank you.

    • @itggear
      @itggear  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In my case, I couldn’t even install the GPU in the PCIe x16 slot; instead, I had to use the PCIe x4 slot. After some Google searching, I discovered that the reason behind this is that the HP ProDesk 600 G5 can only accommodate GPUs listed in the PC specs datasheet. If you install a GPU that isn’t on that list, the PC simply won’t boot. Thank you for sharing!

    How much performance are you losing by installing a card like a 3050LP on a PCIe x4 slot instead of the full 16?

    • @itggear
      @itggear  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I cannot provide specific data since I’m not a technical specialist in this field. However, I can share information based on my experience from installing the RTX 3050 6GB on various systems, including PCIe 4.0 x8, PCIe 3.0 x8, and PCIe 3.0 x4. Here are the test results for gaming in Shadow of the Tomb Raider with the same graphics settings:
      PCIe 4.0 x8: 77 fps
      PCIe 3.0 x8: 65 fps
      PCIe 3.0 x4: 63 fps
      Please note that the RTX 3050 supports only PCIe x8, not x16. Interestingly, it doesn’t seem to make a significant difference in performance when installing this GPU in different PCIe slots. Thank you!

    so because you used a 1x pcie lane your getting less than half the performance you should try using a full 16x riser and watch the performance increase
