Thanks, Steve! This was a great video. Super helpful to see you break down thought process. ...and like in many of your videos, you instill confidence to the viewer to take on projects. I really appreciate this. You've encouraged me to have my own fun and have saved me some coin along the way. I love all your inclusion from the Saloon! Yes again, thank you!

I have a 50year old Stihl chainsaw and many others that have been fantastic machines.
This particular rototiller has been one of the most problematic purchases I have ever made and has had minimal use, for, in my opinion, design flaws. Thank you for your videos which I really enjoy.

I've been watching stuff like that on TH-cam for awhile now. and I'm surprised how easy most of the fixes are. I'm watching and, I'm like. "are you serious, that's it". now I'm able to fix most of the problems myself. thanks for quick and easy information. you've probably helped a ton people like me. where we're not wasting mine or your time with a problem, with a little common sense. we could have it fixed in no time, and be on my way.

    1: Enjoy the beer.
2: Give the remaining 5 beers to the customer.
3: Tell the customer that his tiller is toast.

Has to be one of the best ever. In my field we call it "Root Cause Analysis". Lots of reasons why it could be seized, but finding the "why" is key. Very good. Thank you. The years of experience gives you the long list of "what could it be".

What i really like about your tutorials Steve is you cut the bits that don't matter out and you are good at knowing what we mere mortals don't really need to know or see
like the engine removal for example !!! Well done my friend as i have now said many times you are good NO very good at teaching folk what to do in great detail. I have now
watched quite a few Vids "playing catch up" and i can honestly say I have not been fed up once !!!! Full credit to you as i spent most of my time at school looking out of the window
due to in my opinion teachers that could not teach/hold the audience's attention !!!!!!!

I am enjoying your videos. I usually always check the pull start but also early on with the muffler because it's an easy way to take a quick look at the cylinder and piston. It' funny that I just watched this today because yesterday I just finished doing a cylinder and piston kit on the same machine from a raw gas seize. Keep 'em coming, you make great videos.

Another very informative video. Nice job showing the troubleshooting process. Too bad for that customer. It's a shame the repair parts cost more than a new tiller !
Just goes to show you, that sometimes, even with small engines, that it's sometimes better off, financially, to just buy another piece of equipment, than try to fix a broken one.

  • @1d1hamby

I recently stumbled across your channel and subscribed. This video exposed one of my pet peeves, the price of parts !! I don't care if your talking motorcycles, chainsaws or weed eaters parts are crazy expensive. It's sad that so many easily fixable machines end up in the scrap pile because its cheaper to replace than repair. Anyhow, keep up the good work, I am enjoying your videos.

Great video, Steve. I vote for more like this.
A quick story: I was out back the other night and I heard my neighbor trying to start his chainsaw so he could cut a few limbs into logs for his fireplace, but his chainsaw would not start (wouldn't stay running)... I hollered over the fence to him, "Sounds like somebody needs their carb cleaned!" What makes this story relevant is that I was totally thinking of YOU when I said it..! 2 weeks ago I cleaned the carb on his lawn mower (clogged main jet) after learning how to do so from you. So you have not only benefited ME, but my neighbors and friends, as well..!
Since subscribing to your channel, I've "fixed" 4 machines that didn't run (my lawn mower, my string trimmer, a friend's generator and my neighbor's mower) - tomorrow I hope to fix my neighbor's chainsaw...!
YOU ROCK..! AND I'm buying a shirt...!!! (Edited: Just bought a shirt & a sticker..!)
PS: When are we gonna meet April..??!!

Because of your TH-cam channel, and your enthusiasm for your work, I am now in the process of tearing down my 18.5 hp Briggs and stratton intek motor. Seems the compression release broke, and when it let go, it demolished the oil slinger assembly. I am awaiting parts......

I just bought a used one today, been sitting for a year in the guys garage the spark tester has spark but when I put a bit of starter fluid in the cylinder and try to start it, no go. I am pretty sure it is a bad plug. I like that you do the breakdown to show what was wrong. Now is there a new part # for the coil and if the old one is on the should I replace it?
