  • A sucker for punishment keeps coming back for more, here's my 3rd homebrand attempt although today with a kilo of dextrose, the classical way. Also, got a few taste tests chucked in too

I bet that Homebrand Lager (and series) are made by Coopers or Morgans. Usually no-name commercial products are rebranded by larger businesses. If that's the case, then you're likely getting quality pre-hopped extract kits for less $$. Cheers from Canada!

I wouldn't be surprised! I just had one of my recent batches where I dry hopped it and actually didn't realise I was drinking hombrand till later, it was actually a good drop after a month of conditioning

Hope you are correct. I just put down one of these woolworths brand lagers with the dextrose, as an experiment. I usually use coopers combined with a can of malt extract rather than the dry 'enhancer'. The cost is about $30. Compared with about $13 for this kit.

Coopers owns Morgan’s anyway and likely the supermarket is just the off spec kits from Coopers or Morgans

@@basichomebrew610 made in different facilities and different recipes but essentially same company for a few years least 2015 - appears in coopers annual report for 2016 … hard to believe that Morgan’s would use coopers contracts for all its ingredients = makes commercial sense…

I got one of these WW Lagers brewing at the moment, 19.5 liters of water (for more body) with 750grams dextrose and 250 grams of coopers brew enhancer 2. I am not sure what it will turn out like. if I remember ill let you know the result.

sounds great! nice idea using a partial box of BE2, I always just dump it all in but that could turn out nice! Cheers
