Cracks me up how the 2018 YZ450 was flawless in 2018, but it is not that great in 2019.... I also remember how the 2017 was great in 2017, but then in 2018 it kinda got a little worse as soon as the 2018 came out ;) ...so on and so forth
I was Totally thinking that when I just watched A review of the 2019 KX450 f They made the 17 and 18 sound like shit And u was thinking well I don't Remember it getting such bad reviews then And Same with the 18 CRF250 Now they Say the 18 was terrible but u didn't hear that then They said it was a little soft on low end bla bla at least one even picked the 2018 CRF as the winner but then when you read the whole review even the one that picked it said other bikes where better lol
I always wondered why amature MX riders on 4 strokes throw so much money away on things like aftermarket pipes and other expensive go fast goodies when 90% of said AM riders can't and don't use the power the bike makes stock from the factory. Seems pretty f***ing stupid...must just be a status thing. I read an article once on getting better at MX and it stated the absolute smartest thing you can spend money on if you race and really want to go faster is tires and gas. Meaning ride, ride, ride...that is SO true. Stick the $1000 pipes up your competitions ass.....
wally walton i dont get it either, manufacturers spend so much time and money on RND, of engine/exhaust to make the most power/torque and then riders go and change the exhaust and mess up the optimal power curve a stock bike has. id spend my money elsewhere too.
the one thing i wish yamaha would do would have options for colors of frames maybe black or blue, and maybe forks, other bikes have done it over the years, the same silver look for so many years.
Good feedback! I can't afford a new bike but I like checking out to see what's out there... Man this bike has come so so far! I owned a 2010 yz450 and I've downsized to a 125... I would love to ride one of these!
The YZ450F isn't a great starter bike as it's a full fledged aggressive motocross bike. For straight motocross, a 125 or 250F would be a better first bike. And in the US, most states the YZ450F is illegal to be made into a street legal machine.
backwardsko if you've ridden a bike before, like they said, the 125 2-stroke or the 250f 4-stroke racing bikes would be a good option. If you've never ridden before, a trail or dual purpose bike like the TTR230, WR250 or WR450 would be a much better option. They're far easier to control, not as much torque and power. Plus the WR models are already street legal, and ready for trail riding as well. If you're looking to take on the track, it might not be the best idea in your first year, and will be hard to do without a race bike. Trading your comfort on the bike for speed and power so you can ride track isn't the best idea. Starting off slow and investing into a race bike after you become comfortable is the better idea. Also remember that most local tracks have certain requirements, such as the types of bikes used there, bike parts, numbers on your bike, and protective equipment you must use. Call and find out when the practice times are so you can get laps around the track for fun in a non-competitive setting.
I don’t even know how ML512 can notice all of these differences. I have been riding all of my life and can’t tell the difference between race gas and pump gas on the track
This isn't a SUMO is it...it's designated for the dirt and not the street? I'm asking because I'm still in-the-process of learning about dirt riding, motocross and street legal motorcycles so please excuse and forgive my ignorance;
Anything can be converted with enough money and the right parts, for being street legal that depends where you live. Its not possible to do in all places.
Sumo for racing is a MX (like that in the video) converted to sumo. If you are looking for a sumo for street use better buy a ready to go sumo bike like drz400 or smc 690.
The electric start was added for the 2018 model and we have a 2018 First Impressions video that covers that. This video is more about covering the changes for 2019.
Lukas Radzimski if I had to keep the white plastics, I'd go with a white background with yamaha blue or gray details for graphics. Definitely get rid or that seatcover and put a ribbed one on it too.
I can beat anyone on their new bike's...I ride a 1972 Yamaha CT175...took the lights off..put on some Preston Petty fenders a 21inch front wheel and a NGK 5 plug.
Everyone loved those sexy blue rims, you can always count on Yamaha to ruin something that they finally get right. Yamaha had the ugliest line of bikes besides Suzuki of course until 2016 then 3 years later they back to something that doesn’t even look like a Yamaha I bet it’s super fast and fun to ride but dam that’s ugly.
Why even bother talking about the same damn bike for the 14th year in a row...YAAAWWNNN!!!!!!!!!! BRING BACK WHAT U WERE BEST AT BUILDING, Yamaha....THE 2-SMOKERS!!!!!! Do a 250, 350, 450AND MAYBE A 550 FOR SHITS AND GIGGLES...FAAAAK ME !!!!!!!!!!!
Gotta love Yamaha. New YZ85, and YZ250F. YZ65, YZ125, YZ250, YZ450F.
Same with KTM. What they have done over the last 7 or 8 years is impressive.
It’s crazy the things they point out and what little changes can make a huge difference. I ride a 2018 and love it
leave it to vital mx to give us actual reviews and real "first impressions" transworld & dirt bike mag whoever all read off scripts, appreciate it
Ready to see the ‘19 Honda impression!
just watched the kx, now this, then my good ol honda, and i wont buy any because im broke 😁 wooooo 🙆♂️ damn it 😔
I’m a Honda ktm guy but honestly this bike might win the shootout
brap ryden yeah me too, Yamaha is always gonna be my favorite company. Love my 2005 yz 125! 🤙🤙
Love the white and light blue color combo!
I really wish they would bring back the big bore two strokes they were such beasts.
To the best of my recollection Yamaha is the only bike to change it’s color combination over the years.

Why even bother talking about rear sprockets , everyone's going to change it just like a pipe.

Why buy a truck and leave it stock when you can lift it and make it how you want it? Same for a dirt bike or quad.
the one thing i wish yamaha would do would have options for colors of frames maybe black or blue, and maybe forks, other bikes have done it over the years, the same silver look for so many years.
Completely agree 100%
michael you are the best at what you do
Cool in depth review as always 👍
They've changed the looks a lot since last year

stevo450ify why downsize that much? Why not just get a 250?
Michael Dagostino it's more fun on a 125😉
stevo450ify
I agree with you on the 125, they are the shit, I wish the 4 joke riders would realize it
Clint p 4 joke... here we go..... tools continue to tool
maximus14433 both 2 and 4 are awesome in their own rights... I'm so much slower on a 2stroke but I have way more fun revving it out 😂
Really nice review guys
Love your videos..👍👍👍
I'm getting one of these
2018 Rocks.
What is the main difference from the YFZ450R motor to this one?
I know the original song is bitter sweet symphony but does anyone know the remix or this song?
I thought you might talk about it being as heavy as a dump truck, but nope.
bill smith ha ha ha they are contending with dodge megacab....
Im 6'5 160 pd looking for a beginner bike could i try yz450f as starter and can i make it street legal

Vital MX im in pa & im not looking to compete just have one to use on track for fun

Why can’t they just keep the classic blue with the blue rims?
The standard blue is available, this is a special edition they're also selling this year.
Ya that graphics package was atrocious looking and retro.
Oh thanks!
Personally I can't stand blue . but idc I got to have this bike
Jay F haha
I don’t even know how ML512 can notice all of these differences. I have been riding all of my life and can’t tell the difference between race gas and pump gas on the track
Braden Steinhour fuel alone will never make a difference. It only helps when a built motor requires it
@@kraigvanderwyk2443 Incorrect. I put 2-3 gallons of 110 octane leaded fuel to 2-3 gallons of premium gas and i feel a difference for sure
Thrasher209 likely it’s the lead that makes the difference not the octane.
Justin Barcia made this Bike better. His research and development have made this bike more "Racey".
I'm 6,1 and thinking of getting this anyone tall ride this bike here?
Drew Seventyfour I’m 5’8 and ride this. You’ll be fine
This isn't a SUMO is it...it's designated for the dirt and not the street? I'm asking because I'm still in-the-process of learning about dirt riding, motocross and street legal motorcycles so please excuse and forgive my ignorance;
Dirt motocross track specifically
Ryan Bernard stupid question alert lol can it be converted?
Yes, that's what a supermoto is
Anything can be converted with enough money and the right parts, for being street legal that depends where you live. Its not possible to do in all places.

Good job on being polite, when a lot of others are not ! Lol...

I know right.. Why it's Yamaha ignoring KTM and honda?
*WHY THE FUCK ALL NEW BIKES COME WITH OUT KICK START I DON'T GET IT*
Gosh i was hoping they would make it turqoise and a fuschia seat..... c'mon yamaha dufuq!
I want so bad
Get a KTM and be done with it...
KTM..? That's like comparing a Harley to a R1 garbage!
Buying a 19 honda is same as buying a ktm but ktm is better for the money
Mac Clatchey that explains y everyone is copying them
Mac Clatchey and u just said the cost is due for it to blow up😂
Mac Clatchey tell me where u found that at
KTM is pure shit, i have a 17’ 250 SX-F and that shit always blew up since brand new, i’m going to sell that garbage and ride red or a green one
Miguel Portales that's how I know ur lieing dude ktms are meant to have it pinned I bet u that bike u didn't blow it up and if it's shit y u got it
Get the CR
Just me, I don't like the white plastics with that ugly baby blue stripe. Why not just keep the classic yamaha blue?
The bike comes in two Colors. You can get the Yami classic blue if you want.
Cam Walt. Right!?!? Horrible colors!
Cam Walt. If they had the grey and white it would be sick
Cam Walt. I love this white.
Lukas Radzimski if I had to keep the white plastics, I'd go with a white background with yamaha blue or gray details for graphics. Definitely get rid or that seatcover and put a ribbed one on it too.

Anthony Gonzalez lets see some vids thatd be sick
Post a vid I wanna see a 70s bike keep up with my 2018
I had a CT175. You could totally whip the new ones with it, especially with those hot fenders. Video or it didn't happen.
don't forget the fiberglass tank and expansion chamber with a 9"stinger!!
Anthony Gonzalez Wanna race?
Your off ya head mate 😂
*you're

They come in 2 color options genius. White with black rims or blue with blue rims.
RickyHardman313 ok relax buddy I didn’t know that until after I wrote this comment
