I have been looking for some instruction on these. Great great video. I have planned for 4 to support some garden deer fencing (with steel posts). I am a little afraid but do love the idea and the assist. Thanks a whole bunch. Nice work, good video
thanks. I hope you find the time (and energy lol) to make one yourself. I really enjoy them. they look really nice for what they are and plants love them. I believe it is an outstanding and environmentally responsible use for old tires.
+HillbillyMatt ExtremeDIY I started one tonight before I left for work. can't wait to finish it. if it comes out ok I'll make a few more. free is nice.
Spray your knife and the tire with soapy water. Makes it easier by keeping the rubber from “grabbing” your knife. And let the tire sit on the hot sun before flipping it. It makes it more pliable.
Skylark Amaris thank you. I could have edited out the five minutes of me huffing and puffing tho. lol. it was really hot outside and my camera man brought some delicious high test home brew over that we enjoyed pre video. Prob not the best idea. lol.
I was given a load of tyres and thought I could turn them into planters. However having watched the video, I can see that my weak old lady muscles won't be able to do it after all.
This skips the crucial part of the process... turning that last part of the tire inside out... I got to where he got with mine and got stuck and was looking for a solution...
i didnt have a jigsaw then or i probably would have tried it. lol. there arent many on the market that make me smile and the ones that do are expensive. i did get one to go with my cordless set. the knife works pretty well though. ill have to try it the next time i do this. thanks for the tip. i did use one of those long quickgrip clamps to do this but the clamp rachet broke and slipped off so now it doesnt work anymore. craftsman products. ive never tried 2x4s.
I tried to turn it out like you did but that was a lot of work lol I used the 2 boards and flipped it as far as it would go then added the 3rd one to turn the last part i tried to add a picture but i guess it won't let me _lh3.googleusercontent.com/u_tNMCBA4Fe72sFYdFOECIhOpoHQV1RVzjAxTCDEFYuzQGGXzKwDKkAVkxxfbgyRiRzCzL05_
thats genius. hell yeah using your brain. i wonder if that would work on heavy duty truck tires. i had to pull them strapped to a tree with my truck just to get the "taco" shape. lol.
Saws don't work as well as knife. The best is a narrow boneing kitchen knife because there is less resistance as it is pushed through with a slight sawing motion.
Iain Thomas I am usually a victim of major life circumstances which eat money like mad. In this video I did not own one yet because finances. Lol I recently bought one and I love it. Ill have to find a tire and make another video.
Iain Thomas oh no. Lol. Not at all. I love you man. My videos are pretty terrible with very little thought and funding involved and in most of these...like this one...ive had a couple. Lol. Observe the beer bottle on the arm of the chair. A little of the camera man's home brew. ;-)
I really liked your video and your patience and determination to getting it done!
It is definitely a workout. I enjoyed seeing you struggle with it just as I do. Some are more difficult than others. Thanks for sharing!
I keep the realism on my channel. Thanks Lol
I loved this! Would love to make one as I love DIY, however I am now 71 and my strength is not what it used to be. Thank you for making the video 👍🏼🥰
I love you attitude! My husband would have given up a long time ago...:D
I was trying to decide if I wanted to turn some old tires inside-out. Now I think I need to hit the gym first. Thanks, Matt.
Omg David The Good commented on my channel. I'm famous now. Lol
😆😆😆😆
Thank you, great tutorial

Start with a squishy car tire first.

+Michael Palmer free is my favorite. lol
Seu esforço foi fantástico, merece as consideraçoes... Parabéns.
thanks man. lol
Warming tire on the sun will make rubber soft and more pliable.
Do you have a link for that knife? I love it lol
I bought it on clearance at the navy exchange. It's a standard brand name Kabar. It's an iconic knife. The brand is kabar.
Spray your knife and the tire with soapy water. Makes it easier by keeping the rubber from “grabbing” your knife.
And let the tire sit on the hot sun before flipping it. It makes it more pliable.
Bravo
GREAT JOB!, FUNNY TO!. (AWESOME)

I think I'd need to build up some muscles first, or invent a machine to invert it lol, well done mate.
great
I want to do this just to see how I fare at turning it inside out.
I was given a load of tyres and thought I could turn them into planters. However having watched the video, I can see that my weak old lady muscles won't be able to do it after all.
I am with you all the way! Would love to have one though 👍🏼🥰
Ahhh the old hernia trap! (Turning tires inside out) ;) hahaha
Thank you
Comments like this make my world beautiful.
Check out the video of the way I sometimes do it. 77 years old and nowhere near as strong as I used to be!

It's easy for me just tell me where to send you the money I need 4😂😂😂
Jigsaw to cut and a few c-clamps and some 2x4's to turn it out.. work smart, not hard lol

I LOVE TO WATCH YOUR WORK. BUT DO NOT KNOW HOW TO PERFORM?
Save money doing this instead of the gym then sell em and make money. 🤙🏽
maybe a pare of gloves would help
Using an electric jig saw would be less of a work out.

HillbillyMatt ExtremeDIY sorry if I offended by this comment. I was saying this for the sake of the viewers of this great explanation video.
This video actually encouraged me to persevere with turning a tyre inside out that I had given up on. 😀 Great job.
Iain Thomas hell yeah. Lol. It so worth it. They are the best planters. Good drainage, worms love them, and long life. I love them.
