Gordon Cormier as Aang really impressed me with his performance, he was the most surprising part of this episode, he is able to show the comedic as well as dramatic sides

I never thought it will be this type of great. It was more emotional then every ATLA movie, series
Gran gran saying the intro is random but kinda nice throwback to the animation
Aang leaving in the adaptation made the decision seem like a smarter move as he wasn’t trained to fight the fire nation. He would’ve been wiped out if he had stayed for five more minutes.
Now I cry when Aang sees his home

That desperation was missing from the Razzie film and great intro in series
7:29 Gyatsu ain't wrong about that especially when Aang would spend his adult life to ensure the Air Nomads culture and airbending techniques were passed on to his son Tenzin and the Air Acolytes and also future airbenders post-Harmonic Convergence.

The show definitely isn't perfect but it's far better than many click baiting videos are saying.

Firebending-
Weaknesses
Extreme cold: Cold temperatures reduce or even completely negate a firebender's abilities. The Boiling Rock prison used insulated chambers, the coolers, and piped in cold air as a punishment for those prisoners who used firebending, as the freezers prevented them from bending.[48] The same principle was used to detain P'Li in the depths of the icy tundra of the North Pole.[67] However, skilled firebenders in control of breath of fire can use this technique to stay warm and keep using their firebending.[48]
Full moon: With waterbending becoming stronger with it and firebending being water's opposite element, the full moon weakens firebending to some degree.[13]
Lack of defense: The major combat weakness behind the applied art of firebending is its confrontational nature. Due to its aggressiveness and pursuit of continuous assault, it traditionally lacks basic defensive techniques, which can leave an inexperienced bender considerably vulnerable to enemy counterattacks, though masters such as Jeong Jeong can effectively use firebending for defense.[2] It also consumes a vast amount of energy leaving the bender at a considerable disadvantage in a prolonged battle. A common mark of a firebending master is the ability to sustain attacks for long periods.
Lack of drive: In order to firebend properly, one must have "inner fire", their drive, without which one's firebending becomes weak.[14] After joining the Avatar, Zuko's firebending became noticeably weaker, because for three years, hunting the Avatar was his drive. Aang, being traumatized by his first experience with firebending, was too afraid to "give it some juice", as said by Zuko. Both overcame their problems after meeting with the masters Ran and Shaw, who taught them the true meaning of firebending, restoring their drives.[3]
Other circumstances: A firebender's power may decrease in any situation which might extinguish their flames, such as being underwater or caught in the rain. Zuko overcame this while underwater in the North Pole by melting ice by heating it with direct contact.[12]
Poor breath control: According to Iroh, true firebending power comes not from physical size or strength, but rather from the very control of one's breath. This was first explained and demonstrated by Iroh, an overweight, squat man with no exceptional strength or physique; however, this did not stop him from being one of the most powerful firebenders in the world.[20] Firebender discipline stresses self-restraint and breath control as a means of directing and containing the fire manifested. Poor breath control means dangerously poor control of any fire generated. For this reason, breathing exercises are one of the most critical first steps for beginning firebenders.[2]
Poor self-control: Though anger, rage, and other intense emotions can amplify the power of firebending, it can lead to dangerous explosions or wildfires and can also cause any nearby flames to burn out of control. The enlightened firebending master Jeong Jeong repeatedly stressed this importance during his instruction of Aang, who accidentally burned Katara when he refused to listen,[2] and a lack of self-control was demonstrated by Zhao during his fight with Aang.[2]
Solar eclipse: Firebending's connection to the sun results in a lessening of strength during the night and a complete loss of firebending during a solar eclipse.[11]

Limitations
Control, discipline, forethought, and restraint are extremely important. Unconscious, emotion-influenced, impulsive, or reckless use of this power can be catastrophic.
Distance, mass, precision, etc. depend upon the knowledge, skill, and strength of the user and their power's natural limits.
Fire Immunity, Fire Resistance, and/or Thermal Resistance isn't always part of the package, so burning yourself is possible.
May not be immune to other side-effects/byproducts, such as smoke.
May be unable to create fire, being limited to manipulating only from already existing sources.
Unless the user has Cosmic Fire Manipulation or Hell-Fire Manipulation/Holy Fire Manipulation;
The Fire Triangle (Oxygen, Fuel, Heat) applies;
Oxygen is needed as a comburent.
Some kind of fuel to burn is needed.
A sufficient lack of heat may complicate things.
Users can be overpowered by water, ice or cold.

My opinion about episode 1:
-I loved the warning earth king opening. 10/10.
-The backstory/recap spoken by avatar kioshi needed to be just a taddd shorter. Loved the animation, just had too much talking, made that episode awkward from then on.
-The flying opening with aang was amazing. 10/10
-Everything was great up/well paced/good story up until the fire nation arrival. I needed just a bit more at the end of the air temple/gyatso, showing the fire nation winning by showing a wide final scene of the whole temple, right after gyatso, and before they show aang avatar state bending.
-they needed to add "100 years later" at the katara opening. I was confused until we saw katara.
New fans would be confused and not know where we were. present? Past? Future?
-Everything was fine/okay until the finding aang part.
Such an amazing glowing beam scene and then aang didn't float...He just stood there...
why didn't he float a few inches off the ground?? Whyyy??
(Would have made a more ethereal effect)
-I would have changed the line "lets go save that weird kid" to "let's go save your weird friend." (This would have insinuated/shown that aang and katara have a bond already)
-I do wish zuko was a bit more angrier at the escape part of the episode but it's not that big of a deal. (He does get better as the season goes on)
Episode 2 gets wayyyy better. I had zero complaints for that episode, it was 10/10. The first episode though had a rough start.
No wonder the peoples 100 years later though the Airbender extinct

Unfortunately it gets worse. The first episode was fantastic but after episode 4 I was bored and frustrated with how wildly different the storyline is. I personally went into this very open minded but the more I watched the more disappointed I was. I think they changed too much and that's gonna be their Kryptonite.

Avatar The Last Airbender netflix series is better than The Last Airbender movie.
It was disappointing how they changed the story line and some details that were important to everything… made no sense in the final editing why they would hold to certain details and changed important story line 😐

Then watch it weekly? The problem's with you not being able to control yourself. I personally don't like waiting week after week for a single episode, especially if it's mediocre
