Oh my god. I don't know why it never occurred to me to use the additional elastic already attached to the wig in order to extend the circumference, but thank god there's a simple way to fix my wig. Thank you so much :)

Thanks so much for this tutorial. Also, your video on thinning a wig especially bangs was the best tutorial I’ve watched and I’ve watched them all. The reason I say that is with each clip you continued to show how to hold the shears. Most of the videos would show you how to thin a wig but didn’t empathize how to hold them. Thanks again.

Thank you for your tutorial!! Just cutting the elastic on both sides of my wig makes a comfortable difference! I also like using the elastic from the wig idea, too. ( new subscriber, first time viewing your videos)

I’m new to wigs after cutting my hair and I was going crazy, my head is quite big and I’ve already tried 2 wigs that gave me headaches. @@GodivasSecretWigs i purchased my first wig just this year, Thanksgiving weekend. I was very impressed with the time it took for the wig to reach me. I wanted more off an off black color but ordered the espresso. When I took the wig to my hairdresser for alittle trim she was very impressed on how real looking the hair looked and felt. She has made hair pieces for different people. Her own mother wears wigs. She plans on ordering one of your wigs for her mother for Christmas. I have been wearing hair toppers for around 5 years, but unfortunately the clips have pulled most of my hair out on the top of my head. I had no other choice but to go with a wig and I am so happy I found your company. I plan on ordering another wig in the very near future. I ordered lots of products from you too.

I am so glad to see this video, I have seen some videos about lace frontals and full lace wigs and how to make them bigger, and I was afraid that the other types (no lace) of wigs were different and harder or impossible to make bigger but this video is showing the other types of wigs and I have sent back some wigs that wouldn't fit me and I want to try this method on my too small wigs. I have kept some that I loved but couldn't wear, just because they were so beautiful, I know stupid of me.

i did this to one of my tight wigs, and it works. also this method makes more sense than trying to stretch out the wig, since that way seems harder and more time consuming

This video is a lifesaver- well, at least a wig saver! There are wigs that I love but haven’t bought them due to size issues. Also, my size issue is not ear to ear but the circumference. Sometimes a wig that is big enough in circumference is way too big ear to ear. Awesome solutions here. You totally made my day!!!!

I will do this to a wig I liked but is way too small final sale first and then I have 2 other lg wigs that are too small ear tabs too high nape too high .Thanks for the info ! this may help alot there are so many average large wigs that do not fit at all .So many pretty average wigs that I would love .

VERY HELPFUL. I have mostly avg. size wigs. My Freedoms are avg. Now that I am wearing a wig grip I find most wigs are feeling small. I can sew anything so I will be altering some wigs. Thank you. I had not needed this until this year 2020.
Hi Linda, now I understand. If you can sew, this should be no problem at all! Many others comments tell us that it went perfect for them. Hi Julie, Rochelle here! If the wig fits better after the elastic is cut, you can cut that part completely off. I like to use "Frey Check" ( a type of glue for fabric) to finish off the cutting. Okay. I have a confession to make. I never bought a Godiva Wig, yet I watch all your videos keeping a list of your wigs that I like. I’ve got two pages. I can’t decide so I don’t do anything! There was one wig I wanted desperately but don’t remember the name. I remember the video but there’s no way I could find it. It was being tried on a woman diagnosed with breast cancer and her husband was the minister of a church…must’ve been a local church. If anybody recalls this can you please respond? The video was several yrs ago. It’s like looking for a needle in a haystack. Coming from Boston area, I don’t have a store to look in. Thanks. You guys are great. Hi Viola, it will be at minimum a good start. If you must, you can cut off the elastic sizers on one end and add more elastic to each side - sew it. Then, try it on and when you know where it feels good on you, sew the other end of elastic to that side of the wig. Hope that helps too! Ro

Do you have any tips on making the wig a bit larger ear to ear? My ear tabs ride a bit high for my liking. Thank you for all the wonderful information!
Hi Tika, Thanks for watching! We have found these tips work best for the overall enlargement of the wig. If you are finding the ear tabs still sit too high up, you might want to look into trying a larger wig size. @@GodivasSecretWigs I have the same issue. My (first and only) wig is already a large size (22" head) It's not from your company. I love it, but sometimes it feels like it's slipping up from my forehead/hairline, and the eartabs are a bit high. I wear glasses, and anchoring the temples in the tabs help, but sometimes my ears get sore. It's almost like the cap needs more depth (too shallow?) for my head's "height", so to speak. I had shoulder length hair, but it's now cut very short. This helped the fit a bit, but I still feel like I need to jam the wig on more firmly, except I can't. I hope this is clear

I had to find you in all these comments to offer a suggestion: If the wig isn't feeling as secure by itself after making it larger, and to avoid the slippage feeling, how about just sew 2 metal wig clips at the hair line at the forehead and 2 at the bottom of the wig? These 4 should not pull at all, but will give you the security I think you want. Hope this helps! Could I also use te weft cutting technique on the cap overall? My problem is not only circomference but also trying to fit all my natural hair into the cap (and that's a lot).
Here's my suggestion to fit your hair into a wig: 1. Brush out any mouse or hair thickeners. 2. If your hair is curly/wavy, brush it out and slightly dampen it. 3. Make 2 braids with your hair. 4. Criss cross the braids behind you, then bring each braid up and around to the top of your head. 5. Bobby pin in place, with bobby pins facing towards the back - maybe a nylon wig cap on top or instead. Hope this helps! Im so excited about this video too.... !!!!!! Ugh. I have a 23 inch head!!!!! Big headed family ! I also have thick hair down to my hips so placing hair in my wigs nakes even less room. Oh my god. I don't know why it never occurred to me to use the additional elastic already attached to the wig in order to extend the circumference, but thank god there's a simple way to fix my wig. Thank you so much :)

I wanted more off an off black color but ordered the espresso. When I took the wig to my hairdresser for alittle trim she was very impressed on how real looking the hair looked and felt. She has made hair pieces for different people. Her own mother wears wigs. She plans on ordering one of your wigs for her mother for Christmas. I have been wearing hair toppers for around 5 years, but unfortunately the clips have pulled most of my hair out on the top of my head. I had no other choice but to go with a wig and I am so happy I found your company. I plan on ordering another wig in the very near future. I ordered lots of products from you too.

I am so glad to see this video, I have seen some videos about lace frontals and full lace wigs and how to make them bigger, and I was afraid that the other types (no lace) of wigs were different and harder or impossible to make bigger but this video is showing the other types of wigs and I have sent back some wigs that wouldn't fit me and I want to try this method on my too small wigs. I have kept some that I loved but couldn't wear, just because they were so beautiful, I know stupid of me.

i did this to one of my tight wigs, and it works. also this method makes more sense than trying to stretch out the wig, since that way seems harder and more time consuming

This video is a lifesaver- well, at least a wig saver! There are wigs that I love but haven’t bought them due to size issues. Also, my size issue is not ear to ear but the circumference. Sometimes a wig that is big enough in circumference is way too big ear to ear. Awesome solutions here. You totally made my day!!!!

I will do this to a wig I liked but is way too small final sale first and then I have 2 other lg wigs that are too small ear tabs too high nape too high .Thanks for the info ! this may help alot there are so many average large wigs that do not fit at all .So many pretty average wigs that I would love .

VERY HELPFUL. I have mostly avg. size wigs. My Freedoms are avg. Now that I am wearing a wig grip I find most wigs are feeling small. I can sew anything so I will be altering some wigs. Thank you. I had not needed this until this year 2020.
Hi Linda, now I understand. If you can sew, this should be no problem at all! Many others comments tell us that it went perfect for them. Also, if you're going to cut the elastic, please make sure to cut just 1, then try the wig on with the WG band before cutting the other side. Thanks for watching! Ro

Hi Julie, Rochelle here! If the wig fits better after the elastic is cut, you can cut that part completely off. I like to use "Frey Check" ( a type of glue for fabric) to finish off the cutting. Or, you could always insert an additional piece of elastic and sew it to both ends, your choice!

Okay. I have a confession to make. I never bought a Godiva Wig, yet I watch all your videos keeping a list of your wigs that I like. I’ve got two pages. I can’t decide so I don’t do anything! There was one wig I wanted desperately but don’t remember the name. I remember the video but there’s no way I could find it. It was being tried on a woman diagnosed with breast cancer and her husband was the minister of a church…must’ve been a local church. If anybody recalls this can you please respond? The video was several yrs ago. It’s like looking for a needle in a haystack. Coming from Boston area, I don’t have a store to look in. Thanks. You guys are great. Hi Viola, it will be at minimum a good start. If you must, you can cut off the elastic sizers on one end and add more elastic to each side - sew it. Then, try it on and when you know where it feels good on you, sew the other end of elastic to that side of the wig. Hope that helps too! Ro

You don't have to sew the elastic back in. And, use "Fraycheck" "Joann's" to make sure nothing unravels... xo Ro

Do you have any tips on making the wig a bit larger ear to ear? My ear tabs ride a bit high for my liking. Thank you for all the wonderful information!
Hi Tika, Thanks for watching! We have found these tips work best for the overall enlargement of the wig. If you are finding the ear tabs still sit too high up, you might want to look into trying a larger wig size. @@GodivasSecretWigs I have the same issue. My (first and only) wig is already a large size (22" head) It's not from your company.
I love it, but sometimes it feels like it's slipping up from my forehead/hairline, and the eartabs are a bit high. I wear glasses, and anchoring the temples in the tabs help, but sometimes my ears get sore. It's almost like the cap needs more depth (too shallow?) for my head's "height", so to speak. I had shoulder length hair, but it's now cut very short. This helped the fit a bit, but I still feel like I need to jam the wig on more firmly, except I can't. I hope this is clear

I had to find you in all these comments to offer a suggestion: If the wig isn't feeling as secure by itself after making it larger, and to avoid the slippage feeling, how about just sew 2 metal wig clips at the hair line at the forehead and 2 at the bottom of the wig? Could I also use te weft cutting technique on the cap overall? My problem is not only circomference but also trying to fit all my natural hair into the cap (and that's a lot).
Here's my suggestion to fit your hair into a wig:
1. Brush out any mouse or hair thickeners.
2. If your hair is curly/wavy, brush it out and slightly dampen it.
3. Make 2 braids with your hair.
4. Criss cross the braids behind you, then bring each braid up and around to the top of your head.
5. Bobby pin in place, with bobby pins facing towards the back - maybe a nylon wig cap on top or instead.
