How to increase speed on shadow boxing?
can you do boxing training just to keep fit??
@@grahammcrobert7141 obviously.
Shadowboxing is the ultimate cardio. Easy, accessible, anytime, anywhere, low impact on the joints and ligaments, no systemic fatigue, etc.
100%
@@Tony_Jeffries hey Tony, I just want to ask you something as somebody who is already suffered traumatic brain injury. Should I still take a boxing?
@@Tony_Jeffries
And let me give you a little bit of a reasoning as to why I ask this question is because you talk a lot about how you would’ve gone onto to continue fighting, but you preserve your brain and so on my traumatic brain injury did not come by way of a car accident or anything of that nature I was born premature. But I still have a passion. For it
@@seanm7539if i was u i'd look at where i am in my life and see what i prioritise, if it being my health and well being or this ultimate masculine drive to box, regardless take caution and care even if you do get in the ring. Even if u still really want to do it, U dont have to compete professionally but instead do it with passion without too much damages.
@@seanm7539 obviously I am not tony, but if you want my two cents, go for it - I would just avoid stepping into any full-contact rings. 50 or 60% sparring with headgear should be enough to hone your skills with, and most of the time you can train without any risk of injury just by shadow boxing, hitting bags, and calisthenics.
Mike ain't boxing no shadows, he's boxing demons
Ty Tony for working so hard for us beginners
Happy to help mate 🙏🏻
Thanks!
감사합니다.
Thanks
I got $25 says Jake Paul is watching these videos like “Yeah I’m gonna get Tyson good now”.
😂
Underrated comment
Fr fr 😭
Y’all over look him but Jake puts in the work he aint no 18 year old Disney or nickeledion kid anymore
@@Joe_229 thats not the point bro, the point is its mike tyson" u get?
Your enthusiasm and commitment are contagious!
Shadow boxing is an AMAZING tool to address weaknesses. The amount of holes in my game that I've corrected through shadow boxing is unreal and I still work at it every day.
I love all the quizzes, in between class.
Feels like a corporate townhall. Just kidding, I also like them
4:04 little Mike Tyson is crazy 😂
😂
Shadowbox is the bread and butter for boxing and enthusiast of the sweet science. Excellent video as always Tony.
Love to shadow box..keeps me focused and allows me to concentrate on my form and keep proper footwork
When I was boxing, and I went on holiday, and I needed to keep my weight down and stay sharp. I took my gym with me. i.e. my skipping rope and shadowboxing, done with visualisation.
Joe Calzaghe told me that's what helped him most when his hands were too f@cked for sparring. Shadowboxing with visualisation. He did zero sparring for his brilliant performance against Jeff Lacy.
I can watch this man do shadow boxing all day. So smooth
Thank you so much for the video, Tony! I get very self-conscious when I try to practice shadow box because I don't know what to do as a beginner. The workout tips are very helpful!
53 years old and just started boxing. Tony is my favorite instructor.
Professional fighter and Olympian
I'm trying to get back to shape this is where I need to be
Thank you for your great advice Tony San. Best virtual coach for newbies and pros.
Shadowboxing is the most awkward thing for me I absolutely hate it but it's so good and so hard to do... I keep trying to get better so that one day I can look confident doing it
Im a beginner kick-boxer and your video's are realy help me improve me box skills thank you!🔥
Shadow boxing is an excellent way to get your punching motion fine tuned. Work on the most important punch in boxing, the jab and you can go up tempo for a bit or get into a rhythm routine to train your body respond after exerting too much energy. I heard that James Toney never did road work, just shadow boxing and more importantly, sparring.
Thanks Tony! Can hardly wait to hit the gym with your tips.
Thanks very much for your time and knowledge, I'm using these videos to prepare myself for boxing lessons at a local boxing gym. But before I sign up I want to train by myself via these videos so that when I do attend lessons I'm not a complete noob.
I thought people actually boxed whilst looking at their shadow ^^’
Just started boxing and didn’t even know this was a thing tbh.
Thanks for the video man, I appreciate it ^-^
Tony vs Jake Paul when??
Nah Tony still to Young 😂
You are still so quick
Hey Tony can u please do a video of the style of naoya Inoue
I'll add that to my lists mate, got tons of request 😅
@@Tony_JeffriesInoue once tony
@@Tony_JeffriesJust once please
It’s about being fluid with rhythm and timing
broooooo! i just finished a training session like this right now and come on youtube to watch some fights and i see this new post . coincidence, i think not. 😃
Tony must have sensed you were doing something wrong and so made it so that you saw and clicked on and watched this so youll go back and fix that thing, you know the the thing.... and do it properly next time!
So you best get it right. Or else!
Or else he will..... (you dont want to find out the end of that sentence my friend! 😬😬😬)
Dont ask me how it's possible... Ive no idea, i figure its probably way beyond the meager comprehension of you and I anyway.
That's the power of Tony.
@@iamshredder3587love it 😂😂😂
Thanks🎉
Nice to know these techniques.
Happy to help mate, I got more coming up soon 🥊
Your warmup is very similar to what I do in training but after watching this i realise I've been seriously neglecting my shadow boxing. Can't help but feel a bit silly punching the air in front of others but I'll definitely give the 8 rounds a try next time
i love when he say moosles instead of muscles that freaking funny brah
I book marked this video so I could try it at my boxing club. Love your videos Tony!
❤Love how you used a clip of Badr Hari getting hammered by Saki.. Kickboxing is the reason i watch ur channel... I already have an advantage with my Taekwondo kicks.. adding real boxing to my arsenal is essential and gives yet more advantage, its all about adapting it .. ur videos helped me a lot. Thnx.
Thank you very much, i appreciate.
Hi Tony thanks for all your videos- I been really enjoying boxing on a bag and shadow boxing and thought I was getting really good then I sparred with someone and got a big shock/wake-up as it seemed like everything I learnt went out the window and I was finished after 2 minutes
Always helpful sir❤❤
Mint video love from durham!
Thank you again and again Tony🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
My pleasure!
I've never seen advice like this before; it's really going to help us improve a lot. Thank you, champ!"
Love ur videos bro so useful for us
Glad to hear that🥊
Thanx, Tony, you rock, man. Much respect from Colombia. 🥊🥊🧨
Man, you are the best teacher I've everseen in my life
You are the best couch I have ever seen ❤❤❤
I learned a lot from you
Comfortable couch eh?
great video tony! could you do a video on what a week of training for a boxer would look like? like how many weight training sessions, how many roadwork sessions, how many sparring sessions, shadowboxing, bagwork and similar training methods?
I uploaded that to my channel mate, please check it out 🥊
I thinking of Baki shadow boxing with mantis. It is just like you imagine of your opponent, how they style, how they throw always throw a punches and how they move even in self-defense when have to deal with attackers.
This was too fire bro 🥶 🥊
Truly needed this video
Very good tips...as always‼️🔝
Best regards Tony ❤🥊
Awesome vid Tony like always and I'm gonna watch the one about drills right after I ask you this question: do you know about these tiny and fast uppercut series pro boxer do when shadow boxing? Of course you know! It looks really cool. What is the point of that move and how to do it? I would be so glad if you would like to teach us about it. Anyway, keep up the good work because you are really motivating!
... Well I Learnt Something.... Greetings from Bradford West Yorkshire England 🏴🌄 2:28
Great video !! I love your tips and the way you explain. Even if i'm in muay thai, your advices are easily adaptables. Thank you !
Thank you
2:34 that was perfect
I’ve just started to box im age 13 I’m giving it my all the reason I am it’s because my grandad died on Christmas
Sorry for your loss. Keep it up champ
what even is the correlation between the two, what does your grandad deaths on christmas got to do with starting to box and giving it your all in march
@@itiso1123that’s probably the reason why he started boxing and is going so hard in the sport
@@itiso1123Maybe to keep his mind off of the grief of his death or just a way to fight people and let off his anger legally
Remember to be humble bro 💪
thanks for the great info!
The Shadow is undefeated !!! ( so everyone’s still trying tomorrow know it out)
This time I will be late but next time I will be first
You're amazing! thnks for sharing your knowledge, for free!!
😭😭😭 today i was comming back after playing footh ball there was boxing club... I was thinking i wish i was also practicing there 😢😢 then i come open youtube and watch his videos 😮 oh my god best youtuber ever... Showing us how to do boxing for free ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ i m 14
4:04 "like a little mike tyson coming forward 😂"
I am confident that if one shadow boxes correctly 3 min rounds 1 min breaks 1 hour everyday for 1 year and really get intimate with everything Mr Jefferies states in this video, you will be ready for any encounter and possibly a boxing match.
I will let you know how it goes
I love you dude 😂😂😂😂 come on teach us more
Thank you for great videos. I use shadowboxing as my cardio it’s great and fun. I’m using the fit app with you fight n fit workout 👍
I like that you have an Olympic background
Thought this was a wack TH-cam video
You are well spoken 👍🏽
I was looking in to VR boxing &
Your VR video was great
BIG SUB 👍🏽
I think stretching after the warm up helps too
Thx for teaching and this a good strategy.👍

YES COACH!
As always, another great video from my coach :)❤
Very nice video ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you!)
Thanks for the video .
Any time mate
what do you think about making a video about hajime
no ippo ?🤓
Can you make a video about slip bag training?
I am almost 50, but still running 20 minute 5k, and doing box jumps and weights so I am probably in better shape than most of the guys in the gym, but I eat a lot of punches to the face whenever we spar. Can you recommend some drills that I can do at home in my garage to get me better at slipping and not getting hit in the face so much?
It's frustrating because I deal with bad arthritis in both knees, so I can't move at a fast rate. I have to compensate with working on proper block and punch techniques. Its very painful to bend my knees and move around. I'm sure you've heard this a lot from older viewers, tony.
Hello tony i am new to boxing and i love your videos as they help me alot with boxing. But i have a request for a video. I was wondering if u can make a how to punch the right way. And by that i mean how to punch with the 2 front knuckels only. Because when i punch i mostly land with all my knuckels and if i punch like that over longer traning my hands starts hurting alot. So yeah it would be great if u can show how to punch the right way. And Have a good day
I’m 40 and a pretty good street fighter and don’t be at it anymore as I’m out of my 30’s now so I just want to train to be able to correctly defend myself from younger guys that might try to rob or jump me. Being able to fight for more than 5 minutes will win most fights with big brutes. I’m gonna try hard to improve my cardio this summer and might even kick the Mary Jane!!! This day and age with governments starving the poor and working class and the addict’s only on the rise things are most likely gonna be similar to the great depression so we all should be prepared to defend and provide for our families when the world is gone to shit!! Please god I’m wrong but safer than sorry is never a bad thing!!!
Wtf lol
Not to mention immigration and crime rates
For me: Fast Uppercut and Hooks.
Nobody asked plus I make better videos😂
@@Projectmuaythai nobod, asked for your comment either ( your content shit too) 😂😂
Hi tony, Do you have a guide on how to not be so tense while boxing? I have a problem with this even when I'm doing pad work my shoulders all tense up.
nice
Interesting
Thank you
Any time!
Can you please make a video on lace up vs Velcro gloves 😊😊
I can't decide what to buy .I found a matching Velcro gloves but I have heard that the Velcro will fail after some time .Does any one know what should I buy
@@Faxer-07 laces are for competition. Someone must lace it for you. For training, it's Velcro.
Can I use Velcro for sparring

I have a question, What's the best style for someone who can't really do footwork (I have a weak right foot that was paralyzed year ago)
Hey tony I’m a year into boxing and feel like I am not progressing as fast as I should be do you have any advice for me
Thank you but to get out of bad habits is it about repetition (doing more rounds) or considtency(doing it every day)
Hi coach i wanna ask a question for the better results in a fight should i stay in the toes and when i come inside in flat foot ?
Please teach me your best moves
Tony,I have a heavy bag but use the padded mma gloves. Is that okay for hitting a heavy bag?
"little Mike Tyson" 💀 (4:04)
Hi Tony, I notice when boxers shadow box they don’t twist their feet much when throwing hooks yet technique videos say you should, does the foot twist matter that much as I feel it slows the flow down?
I can’t jump rope because it causes pain in my left knee on the outside. What’s the next best thing? I’m almost 47 and the old body is banged up from Jiujitsu
I shadowbox only because of footwork and technique, but I cannot imagine my oponent, I dont understand it, its like my mind is spliting in two, I need someone to see and react, If I visualise, my mind is always like “a you to slow” “waaay to slow” “he sliped everything and got you” 🤦🏻♂️😭 then it always go in dirrection that I just trying to overtake my own shadow..
Try shadow boxing with a partner in front of you or in front of a mirror and visualise your next opponent. Is he tall short, Southpaw etc. Good luck🥊
Aright Tony do you have a gym/club to join?
Question because I can't seem to find the direct answer. Is phenylpiracetam legal to use in boxing competitions? I heard it is banned in other sports such as cycling.
?? When shadow boxing, should you fully extend your arm for the left and right straight punches, just like in a real fight? Or is this harmful to the elbow joint?
Thanks for an answer
