I am so glad you made this video, Steve. I have always loved the front cover of that LP but forgot was was on the back of the Australian edition. Went to my record cabinet to check and discovered that it wasn't even there😮. Then I remembered that a year ago when I was trying to buy up all of Elvis' music, I bought it on CD. Before I got hooked on collecting vinyl😊. So that is another LP I will be looking for at record fairs. Would love to find the gatefold. The army photo on the back of the French copy you showed, is on the back of my Australian For LP Fans Only album....weird.

I was there in 2018 visiting a good friend and shopped at the HMV shop you talk about and boy did I spend some money,things I could have never brought in New Zealand
Keep getting better a little bit at a time. I have a Spanish copy of Rock n Roll number 1 just called Rock and Roll. It has the picture of Elvis debut album on the front and all the letters are in Orange.

My guess as to why they changed the cover in '63 is that they didn't want to use a photo of Elvis in uniform as he'd been out of the Army for a while by then. Cheers, Steve.

I bought the Speakers Corner pressing of “For LP Fans Only” and it sounded terrible to me! Hi again Steve, just following on from my message above… based on how amazing your Speakers Corner pressing looks, I went ahead and purchased it on Discogs! It seems Speakers Corner really took a lot of time and effort to get it to look like the original USA pressing! For that reason alone it’s worth having as I can’t seem to find any original USA pressings in decent enough condition! Even if the Speakers Corner pressing doesn’t sound any good, I still have my English silver spot and red spot pressings of this album which sound incredible!! Elvis truly IS the greatest and I really enjoy your videos! Take it easy and don’t over strain yourself in any way. Perhaps start watching Elvis movies from Love Me Tender and keep going all the way up to Change of Habit! All the best from Vak (in Australia)…

Really interesting video as always Steve, the amount of different variations you have boggles my mind! Waxtime are actually based in Andorra, not the UK, that's how the get away with releasing the material they do legally
I thought it was a nice album, with a nice but unusual collection of songs. Liked the cover taken from a serious of shots whilst on leave at Graceland. A lot of Sun recordings with a couple of soundtracks. Strange to use We're Gonna Move covered by french artist Long Chris and included on his beautiful 45 EP. Nice collection of LP's.
Reason for early discharge was sort of “privileged “. He went back by Air Transport instead of Boat Troop transport which cut 8 days off the crossing. I worked in military personal and did favors for friends. It really wasn’t difficult
I don't know about you but I find the stereo- effect process left a lot to be desired and is quite painful to listen to with headphones on like you've got a head cold coming on.
