That was impressive. Basically, these machines are hand-made. Chinese factories get a bad wrap for automated cheap production. Hi Googleboy7, is it an easy process to place an order, arrange payment when buying direct from China? I'm contemplating getting a ripper attachement for a Cat M315 excavator. I've found a factory on the internet, located at Yantai (Shandong province) who makes the attachment, but of course I can't expect the buying process to be a simple as ordering a screwdriver from Aliexpress. Perhaps I need to engage a 'freight forwarding' agent in my country who can handle all the necessary aspects of the ordering, payment & delivery? I welcome any ideas. Cheers from the south west coast of the island of Australia :)
Hello, my u-tube friend. Thanks for all the videos. The reason I went with Derrett is because of your videos. I just ordered a Derrett DRT 450 with the counterweights and 4 different attachments from Dean. I do have a question or two. How long did you run the engine after receiving it before you changed the oil and hydraulic fluid? How hard is it to change the oil? Was the gas ok to run the engine after transporting across the Pacific Ocean? Also is there an on off valve from the fuel tank to the engine? Can you tell me the ground pressure of the tracks? Just curious. Nowhere could I find that info. PS keep up the awesome videos.
Thanks for watching them! Dean really helped me out. You should change the oil after 10 hours and the hydraulic fluid after 50 hours. I haven’t changed mine yet but I really need to. The gas was fine. I needed more gas so I added some. I don’t know about the fuel switch. No idea about ground pressure from it either. Thanks again!
Nice to see some of the reasons why producing there is way cheaper. That mess on the floor shows that an injured worker is not much of a problem for them?
No idea, maybe that or maybe they just know to step over stuff and don’t look for excuses to get hurt to they can get workers comp? 🤷♂️. I know my employees make jokes sometimes about getting hurt so they can take time off work and get paid. That’s the American way for the newer generations right? Less work, more money. I’m more old school, work hard and get paid more.
Not yet but I plan to make one. I paid about $8500 shipped to me in Oklahoma plus the attachments came in a separate crate because I ordered so many. lol. They were another $8k
Great video. Your content is very informative. What do you recomend to buy first for a small farm jobs? I'm looking to buy a mini excavator or skid steer.
Thank you. I appreciate the feedback. If it were me, I would buy a mini skid and a bunch of attachments. I do like my excavator for pulling stumps, digging holes, etc but the skid is so damg handy for small jobs around the house.
I had it shipped DDP which means it came right to me in Oklahoma. I had it delivered to a forklift sales and service place. They loaded it on my trailer for me.
Say I like that laser dry bed no smoke plasma you have to flood the part to keep the smoke out or mass vent hoods if them people were getting paid with their worth that would be badass 5:50
They REALLY need a production manager who knows how to clean, organize, and streamline their production space. Simple pallet racking would save tons of production space and allow a much better workflow. I am convinced that most of the Chinese quality problems that customers experience stem from the lack of organization and the random approach to production in Chinese factories. They should go tour Japanese, German, or American factories.
I was thinking the same thing, the workflow is chaotic. It’s no wonder they have quality issues. They could learn a lot from modern manufacturing processes.
Yes, I noticed that the frames he showed weren’t finished welded yet. They were just tacked and not finished. The finished products have nice beads. I guess a different guy tacks them and another comes in later and finishes the weld.
While I'm all for being able to purchase a low priced mini skid steer that was made abroad, I am concerned about the quality of some of the steel that they use for the more critical components? While this looks very impressive, I've seen videos of guys replacing components early on in their use because these parts don't wear well. Im okay with the Honda and Perkins or Kubota motors. Skiddish about the Chinese motors.
That’s a great question. The V1000 costs more and is heavier. With my 1/2 ton truck, I wanted lighter. I was trying to pick up some logs today, and wished the machine weighed more. I hear the v1000 controls are a lot better to control the operation. I plan to get a v1000 and compare the two in the future.
