    This awesome. Martin & Emilio are two of my favorite actors. I’m a status card holding First Nation Aboriginal Indian with Emilio’s complexion. I grew up in the East end of Toronto (Greenwood Park, Regent Park, The Beaches, Leslieville) but I live in Chicago. Due to my 50% blood quantum I born with the privilege of the right to the Jay treaty which gives me the right to travel, work and reside in the United States despite my many stints in the East, West, Mimico detention centers during my younger years (I’m 37 and have dive matured) without ever having to endure painful immigration proceedings. Toronto is where my heart is, my Mom & Sister still live there, my in laws still live there as well as my many friends and family whom I visit often. I can definitely relate to Emilio’s Indigenous background and the confusion and ridicule that comes with being half Indian from my own family members who often referred to my twin and I as white eyes, resented my Dad for having kids with a white woman and struggled with accepting us because we were born with blond hair and grey eyes. Luckily we were eventually accepted and I feel truly blessed to be of Plains Cree descent. Although it’s genetically cursed me with addiction and post trauma genes past down from my paternal family as well as residential survivors, it has given me plenty of opportunities and exposure to the arts too. I don’t know how I came across this, especially coming from my background and the similar background’s of my two favorite actors but I feel like I was definitely meant to see this.

    When I was in high school I had a huge crush on Emilio Estevez. Glad to see that he turned out to be a decent man.

    It is good to see Toronto following Mississauga Library example. Mississauga library started last year and the program has had a great success since they launched The Open Window Hub, a program that:
    Promotes inclusiveness of vulnerable youth and adults;
    Provides outreach services in the library;
    Allows the homeless to work with a professional to prepare plans to address their situation; and
    Offers a referral service that connects those at risk or those who are homeless with community agencies that provide tools and resources for empowerment.
