fun fact: Pete wrote this song to Patrick as a promise to never attempt suicide again and I know your not crying, you just have fall out boy in your eye
YO THAT ENDING WITH ALL THE DIFFERENT PIECES OF SONGS ITS KIND OF LIKE THE END OF NONSTOP FROM HAMILTON WHERE EVERYBODY'S SINGING THEIR OWN THING AND THEN IT JUST GOES ON TO ONE SWEET ENDING LIKE HOLY HECKARONI IDK IF I CAN STAND THE BEAUTY OF ALL THIS RIP
I know this song makes me cry. But, do I stop? HAHAHAH NOPE I'll just go back to the trash can. *crawls to trash can whilst crying and slams the lid tightly*
I would cry but I am actually incapable of crying most of the time. I can cry so easily if my parents are even a little mad at me but if my best friend said she hated me and never spoke to me again it would take me forever to cry and it really sucks.
Pob Not starting a fight. Just saying that you must have a pretty pathetic life to not be able to come up with something original. But that's none of my business
This song is so amazing, when I start to listen to it I'm always just kinda calm/happy, but when the ending comes up I find myself ready to bawl my eyes out, and it's just really nice to have an extremely touching song.
It can't be just me, does anyone think that Jet Pack Blues is kinda of like a part 2 to this song? It sounds pretty similar, just with somewhat different messages
I've been an avid FOB fan for years, and I've heard this song once but all I remember was not liatening to it at all, so I didn't like it. And now I'm getting to it, and crying my eyes out casually.
Step One: Open this link www.rainymood.com/ in another tab Step Two: Come back and listen to the song with the youtube volume setting just above half (so that the rain is not completely drowned out by the music) Step Three: ENJOY THE EARGASIMS
I remember when Folie A Duex came out, I was in 7th grade. Then I remember listening to this song all the time in 8th grade. It really made me stand out considering I was literally the only white kid there. All of their work has really made me who I am, and what I stand for. After all these years they've really stuck by my side. And for that, I thank you FOB.
Ok well now I'm BAWLING. The ending with the pieces of different songs is amazing. I've heard that Pete wrote this song to Patrick as a promise to never commit suicide and that's NOT HELPING MY CRYING GUYS
Its amazing. The first time I heard this song, I hated it cause it wasn't the sound I was used to them playing, but as the time progressed and I actually LISTENED to it, I fell in love with it. All the people they've worked with plus Patrick's amazing voice was just amazing.
"At 3:00 Elvis Costello sings the overture "I will never end up like him, behind my back I already am..." of Fall Out Boy's song Headfirst Slide Into Cooperstown in a Bad Bet. On the band's greatest hits album, Fall Out Boy vocalist Patrick Stump sings the line on the song as the legal agreements were not made in time"-Wikipedia
kimbalucy Yeah, I have the greatest hits album and that's the only place I'd heard this song before, and hearing it here sung by Elvis Costello kinda confused me.
All i can really say is i havent allowed myself to listen to fall out boy for two years. they were my favourite band when i was going through an abusive relationship, they were there to console me on a night when i was hurt. i didnt like listening to them when i managed to finally get out because it reminded me of so much hurt. but i stumbled upon this when im not in the best place yet again. Fall out Boy is helping, as they have always done with me. I am glad of this. they are truly amazing.
Brendon made me laugh with his "DANCE dance".. why did they sing short parts of other songs? I mean I know it was Pete who had written the song, maybe it's to seal his promise?
Ugh I love this song so much 😍❤ I always thought the end sounded like there were other people singing it (and I KNEW that Brendon sang Dance, Dance!!) The first time I heard it it totally caught me off guard- I just love the entire album Folie a Deux ugh bye
Am I the only person who looked around to see if someone else was in the room with them when they heard the other song choruses? Seriously, though. I love this song. My sister first told me about this song, and I fell in love with it. I love the meaning of it, the chorus, the other song choruses, and just this song in general. It's just great in general.
I shall admit, i listened to the song when it was still new, and i wanted to hear it today....so i did and i will say i did tear up at the end hearing all the voices and old songs from Fall Out Boy...but still i love this song
4:17 I love how it goes "Thanks for the memories, even though they were-Growing up, growing up" It sounds pretty special, I love how they were placed next to each other
@SeeJosieJonas That's so sweet! It is kind of like a walk down memory lane. FOB was one of the first bands I ever felt a connection with and since then I've moved on to other bands but I will always remember them. Sometimes I still get the urge to listen to their albums and just remember them.
Dear, Falloutoutboy: We love your troubled thoughts, we remember you goin down and fallin apart, and we're thanking for the memories that were so great
My friend recently tried to commit suicide but failed and this song reminds me of her and all her friends and people who care about her when she attempted
at the end of the music video you can tell that it's completely a metaphor for their break up: pete isn't even there, the sign from "thanks for the memories" is in the water, and they're jumping off of a sinking ship. it honestly brings a tear to my eye because fall out boy has been one of my favorite bands since the very beginning. i miss them.
This song has always felt like a final going out song telling the fans "This is it, its been a good run but its time for things to end"... And then they came back and I havent liked any of their music since...
You can tell they were thinking of going on hiatus in this song, Just because of the end. But when they come back, because they are, I will be ready to say 'Took you long enough.'
@MoshiPetit It's dedicated to all the good times they had together, because this is kinda like their "break up" song. I guess it's about times changing.
fun fact: Pete wrote this song to Patrick as a promise to never attempt suicide again
and I know your not crying, you just have fall out boy in your eye

I would cry but I am actually incapable of crying most of the time. I can cry so easily if my parents are even a little mad at me but if my best friend said she hated me and never spoke to me again it would take me forever to cry and it really sucks.
I get that. I'm the same way
Pob Would you cry if I told you to get a life instead of hating on people on the internet?
Pob Not starting a fight. Just saying that you must have a pretty pathetic life to not be able to come up with something original. But that's none of my business

I dont cry at this? Am I strange? I just dont cry easily
Abigail Joanna I cry freaky-easy. Like, someone in my general vicinity could raise their voice and I'm in tears. So, you aren't strange at all.

I've heard this song so many times and the crying intensifies every time their other songs are referenced in the background.
I remember when Folie A Duex came out, I was in 7th grade. Then I remember listening to this song all the time in 8th grade. It really made me stand out considering I was literally the only white kid there. All of their work has really made me who I am, and what I stand for. I miss them, I love how they incorporate all their lyrics into this.♥
Brendon made me laugh with his "DANCE dance".. why did they sing short parts of other songs? I mean I know it was Pete who had written the song, maybe it's to seal his promise?
I love listening to this song because I'm already crying and then Brendon comes in all wild and crazy and it makes me cry laugh
I think it's to show to everyone about how even though they are separate bands, all of them and all the fans are a family.
No pete wrote it to remember patrick
+The Random no he wrote it to promise patrick he would never commit suicide again
remember Patrick? he is still alive.... right???
i'm not okay i promise
this song saved my live... thank you Fall Out Boy...
What do you mean?
Ugh I love this song so much 😍❤
I always thought the end sounded like there were other people singing it (and I KNEW that Brendon sang Dance, Dance!!)
The first time I heard it it totally caught me off guard- I just love the entire album Folie a Deux ugh bye
i grew up listening to elvis. it was great to hear that powerful voice again
Quite shakey though
Elvis part was removed. Patrick sung it instead.

i love the end with different artists singing their previous songs like brendon urie singing dance dance! fantastic :)
I used to love this song so much. That was until my brother committed suicide. Now listening to this song just hurts me.

it honestly brings a tear to my eye because fall out boy has been one of my favorite bands since the very beginning. i miss them.
I don't know why, but the very end of the song when they say "Growing up" nearly always makes me tear up.
This song has always felt like a final going out song telling the fans "This is it, its been a good run but its time for things to end"... And then they came back and I havent liked any of their music since...
