I think the most meaningful lyrics are "I miss missing you a now and a then." has there ever been someone in your life that was gone for a while of time, and when they came back were way different and you'd rather just go back to missing them? miss missing them. Most of the time when someone comes back into my life im at a low point. Sometimes before it gets better then darkness gets bigger... and that person when they come back i'd do stuff for them just to be double crossed. The person that you take a bullet for is behind the trigger.
Yeah. I feel that way about my old friend Maddie. We broke off for a while, came back, now broken off again. No matter. I sorta liked it better when we weren't talking. She loved to cause drama. I was pretty much getting tired of her too. She forced me to do things I didn't want to do. Thankfully, she didn't try to make me smoke, drink, or party. She DID want to try to set me up with one of her exes. That didn't happen. I made sure. I didn't even meet him, which made me feel better.

A picket fence being this common goal - for example in the American dream - owning a house with your loved one with a picket fence in the front garden, it's magical. Wow. It took me so long but I finally understand the song. Although I'm probably interpreting it differently than it's probably intended, but I understand what the lyrics are telling ME. Basically describes me and my current ex. I'm the best he'll never have. Literally, all his friends thought I was better for him than his previous ex. Now, he doesn't want me and I could care less. I miss missing him sometimes. I know I'm the one he wants to forget. Cue all the love to leave my heart, it's time for me to fall apart. Already did that. Now, he's gone, but I'll be okay. I'll definitely burn brighter, tonight. I'm more confident about myself. I finally found my self-worth. I'm learning to love myself. I don't need anyone to tell me that I'm worth something. As long as I know I'm worth something, I'll be just fine. I love myself. Took me 20 years and 4 partners to finally learn to love myself, but I'm glad I love myself. That's what's important. Screw all my ex partners. *holding a drill, revs it a bit* I don't need them. I have myself. That's all I need. I've done just fine on my own. I never had a problem with the single life.
