2017 marks the year of the great return of Norwegian symphonic black metal giants, DIMMU BORGIR. The band's highly-anticipated double-DVD, Forces Of The Northern Night, is out worldwide via Nuclear Blast Records.
Available in different formats, the release will contain two live rituals:
Their legendary concert in Oslo, showing DIMMU BORGIR on stage with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and a bombastic choir as well as the entire performance at Wacken Open Air with almost 100 musicians in action from the Czech National Symphonic Orchestra.

Fun fact, this concert was shown on our Norway’s state channel paid for by the taxpayer for everyone to enjoy. I don’t think that would happen in many other countries. Love it. I watched it with my parents and they loved it...

There was a Black Metal music video night day or two before Christmas eve on Finnish state or commercial channel. Just mainly a one guy in studio wearing a black gnome hat, showed videos and gave little facts about the bands. I remember that at least they showed Carving a giant from Gorgoroth and something from Enochian Crescent.
There is noo way something similar will ever happen in Poland.
The girl/woman is Agnete Kjølsrud she is the front singer from a hard rock band Djerv
She is a great vocalist who contributes to metal bands all over the place. I especially like her part in Dominans by Kampfar.

The female singer is Djerv , in english wolverine. She was in a band called Animal Alpha before she went with the band Djerv.
Still easily in my top 5 sings of theirs, really inspiring message in this song too. The Kings Of The Carnival Creation is my all time favorite of Dimmu Borgir

It was a cello bow that you saw coming off but that is natural for cello's the strings on the bow is made of strings of horsehair and just through normal playing each strand gets worn away and breaks away

As someone already have requested, and since you noticed the drumming (and it`s a cool performance)..... you really should watch another norwegian black metal band doing another "crossing of genres". Satyricon- Mother north- live at the opera. A black metal classic performed at the national opera with the opera choir.

If you think this drummer is fast then you have to checkout Inferno. He is playing for Behemoth and has his own project. Its called Azarath. He is a drummer from Poland but he is damn fast and super skilled. But the drummer here does a good job too btw. I think this was Daray here. Please correct me if i am wrong.

Black Metal is not my favorite style of sound and I dont care about the a lot of bands this style and the lyrics can't say anything to me about religion, for exemple, but, the constrution of the music... the drums, the vocals, symphonic support... as I said, a masterpiece!
The woman singer in this vid is Agnete Kjølsrud. She is the lead singer in the norwegian metal band Djerv. She also was the lead singer way back in the band Animal Alpha.

I see you really enjoy live shows with a complete orchestra, I really recommend you to listen and watch the live video for Octavarium, by Dream Theater live at The Score show, or Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence, on the same show, 100% recommended!

Top Dimmu Borgir songs to check out (in my opinion, and studio versions): The Insight and the Catharsis, Hybrid Stigmata: The Apostasy, Indoctrination, Reptile, In Death's Embrace, Progenies of the Great Apocalypse, and The Serpentine Offering. Many of these will sound different and unique from each other, and that's something special about bands like Dimmu Borgir (and Nightwish, for example). One or two songs cannot give an idea of their sound, as each album has it's own sound and style. Some have strange vocal effects, some have rich piano/keyboard melodies, some have orchestral elements, and so on. Their 2001 album "Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia" is a 100/100 album in my opinion, flawless, every track. I discovered it 12 years ago and nothing has that special majestic atmosphere, compositional weaving of everything, intensity, and at times, beauty.

I'm pretty amazed how American bands (about to music) get surprised by European Metal (any kind). This bands aren't main stream obviously, but pretty well known in Asia and Latin America, even in Mexico among metal fans. Its strange, culturally speaking, I guess
Americans are kept in a cultural cage by their masters. Operation Mockingbird penetrates all aspects of the culture of USA.
