The claws are bone. If you look at the comments, the creator confirms it saying that he uses the design of the metal instead of the original bone design since the original looks more like branches.

Logan is not casting spells. Logan says he is Fenrir's Fury. Fenrir is the wolf god from Norse mythology, a child of Loki. The sticks on the ground are the runes (combined symbols) for Fenrir. So Logan is paying homage to Fenrir in the beginning. When Magneto shows up, pay attention to the voices and him being blind in one eye. These clues let's you know that this is Odin, father of the gods. So in this world, Odin and Magneto are the same person. Heck of a way to mix those two worlds into this one. I loved your reactions. You were both so into it. I can only imagine both of you would watch a TV series like this, if they made one.....
