One of the reasons the fecal sac is taken by the parents is so that it doesn't fall to the ground right below the nest which would be a sign to predators that a nest is in the tree. Also, less chance of bacteria forming that might harm the chicks or attract flies.
@solartsubasa They aren't "eating" it, though. The birds are either holding it in their beak or their crop to dispose of it a distance away from the nest. This helps keeps predators away from the nest. It's a protection adaptation. Reread the original post which began this thread.
Theres another video of these same birds where another bird snatched one of these chicks out of the nest to eat it. The Animal Kingdom is as violet and unforgiving as humanity.
