I want to thank you. I fell in love with parts of this game after playing it and it convinced me to teach myself guitar.
By "teach myself guitar", I mean I picked up a 12-year-old withered hand-me-down my sister didn't use anymore and taught myself your cover of this song from scratch. Years later, it's the only song I can play straight through perfectly from memory. With no musical experience, I've looked up endless videos of the original arrangement and after learning your version, made modifications to more closely resemble the original as I grew confident in playing yours.
This has been a multi-year-long journey and it all started with your help. After all this time, I can come back to this video and play along, one-to-one, full speed, without having to worry about tempo, finger placement, or how I sound. It all just comes, and I can focus on just how two guitars playing together makes it all sound. It sounds great listening to you play the main melody and I act as the supporting melody. The song was originally written for two guitars, after all.
Putting it poetically, you're like an age-old companion I've never met but has guided me for the duration of a heartfelt learning experience. You have my deepest thanks for sharing this cover.
Guitar is a great instrument. You’re only going to get better. I play electric guitar. I get sterrotyped as the drug doing rock loving face painter. But it’s not like that at all, I’m a successful school student with a great life. My suggestion is to go into the guitar community. Everyone is so cool and there’s plenty of undertale to go around. You can learn more music and have fun. I really suggest it!

I almost cried during this part of the game. Seeing Toriel’s empty house and the ghosts of the previous monsters talking to you is just so emotional and really makes you think.
never played undertale, because people say it's horrible. But this is beautiful. I'll take a look into Undertale.
You SHOULD play it. It isn't even close to horrible.
With the case of almost every kinda of show or game, Undertale has a really bad Fanbase sometimes. The game itself is quite fantastic, one of my favorite games I've played in a long time.
That's what I thought before a friend recommended it to me. I had never owned it because of other people saying it was horrible. But my friends have never steered me wrong (that's how I ended up playing Zelda, Pokémon, Minecraft, Borderlands, etc.), so I tried it. And it was awesome.

Undertale shows what kind of person you are. If u are a horrible person it will become a horror game. If u still have peace inside you even tho u grow up, it will become a heartwarming tale to play with

I'm going to stick this here, because even if you don't answer, someone else might, and I need that help.
I've been teaching myself guitar for about ten years now, but for the life of me I can't keep a rhythm going with my thumb independent of the lead tune. It's something I've struggled with from the start.
Dunno if I can be helped, or if I WILL be helped, but I'll ask anyone I can, especially since I love and have been trying to play this since Undertale came out.
Try following the tabs and just playing very, very slowly. At first it will sound like nothing, but after a while, your hands will get into the pattern of it. Don't give up!
Yeha its just as he said. Take it slow and repeat your hands get used to it. Works for me ^^
Thanks. I guess I'm just frustrated there isn't a nice quick way of getting one's thumb into a rhythm.
If rhythm is the problem, the trick I found was to count out loud. If you're trying to play this song, count the rhythm to four and get a feel for it. If you're confident, try counting with "and"s in between to get a feel for the half steps (one-and-two-and-three-and-four-and-one-and...). If that seems to be failing you, try an online metronome. (actually I just typed metronome into google and google had one!) Just do as Justin said and start slowly when learning the tabs.
If all else fails... go play Rhythm Heaven. =)
There is no easy way to get past such a vast barrier but practicing with simple songs and slowly or moderately increasing the difficulty will help. You don't have to choose this route but you will be surprised at the minor skills you may pick up from other songs, even the simple ones.
