I’d never heard of this type of garden bed, World Vegetable Center! Thanks for sharing ☮️

So you keep adding kitchen scraps to the compost bin?

The easiest way is to get a large black garbage can with a lid and drill holes near the bottom all around the sides. I tried this open method and pest are attracted to the decomposing plants but they will also eat the live plants closest to the center. I switch it out with a container that can be closed with a lid. On rainy days I take the lid off and when it's done raining I put the lid back on.

We made one of these. We used concrete blocks, 3 deep for 24 inches. We layered sheets of wet cardboard with goat manure, leaves, and more food scraps. I should have used green grass clippings and cow or chicken manure. But those were hard to come by in bags or buckets at the time! So it didnt heat up like I hoped, but it made a wonderful garden. Then we moved, and it was too heavy to transport.

You don't need it higher unless it's a plant with deep roots.

Has this collapsed or fallen over yet?

There are lots of things you can do to stabilise the walls.
