Thank you! This is so informative! I am a Christian but celebrating Hanukkah for the first time this year in solidarity with the nation of Israel and the Jewish people. Hi I am also a Christian who is now a Judicial Christian. It was hard to celebrate the Holidays for the Jewish people in Israel in 2023 because of it being very very sad and scary because of the war from the October the 7th massacre but I had really no idea I just remembered that I felt lonely for Christmas much to much and I felt sorrow in the Lord's heart especially so this was the catalyst for what is happening now with the holidays.

Thank you Marion for a lovely refresher of Chanukah rituals. I am sharing the holiday with folks from many different countries and religious traditions this year, and your demonstration is very helpful! I feel confident about explaining and doing the ritual now.
We moved and recently bought the same Legacy Judaism Menorah and blue candles that you have here, although it's yet to arrive (it's running late in the mail) and my daughter wanted me to look online to see if we could find out what it will look like "in life.' It finally comes today on the 2nd night of Hannukah, so we used a potato last night and Bday candles on the 1st night in a pinch, lol. I told her that G-d sees our heart and was fine with the potato. I'm learning about jewish holidays one by one as they come this year so I can understand slowly everything and celebrate with my friends who follow the religion. I'm also trying to figure out some of my family's history, because we eat quite a few traditionally jewish food and my mother has memories that are ,,suspiciously" jewish traditions-like and i look really typically jewish (my features) and a lot of people ask which makes me happy and curious. Maybe I have jewish roots too but only from my mother's side, it's very exciting. I live in Hungary so it's hard to talk about it to my grandparents because of our country's history. Thank you for the great video!
Most Hannukkah candles only last an hour or so, so you don't put them out, you let them burn down until they put themselves out. My son's mini Hannukkiah has tiny candles that go out within 10 minutes.
I want to convert to Judaism, but because I’m already married to an unbeliever and have children, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to. However I am still going to follow Judaism as much as I am able. Love your videos, they have helped me so much.
I don't know of any Orthodox synagogues that would convert you if you AND your spouse don't convert together. However, many of the Conservative and Reform synagogues would convert you even if your spouse does not. Your children would also have to be converted I believe? Good luck to you on your journey.

What a wonderful overview with a bit of a demonstration for those who are new to the celebration or are sharing it with Jewish friends and family since Christians share the story of God's miracle allowing enough uncontaminated oil for one night to last until more could be procured for the Temple upon the success of the Maccabean Revolt. It makes people less fearful they will do something wrong, if they are new to it, to see someone else perform the rituals. And you explained so simply and beautifully what they mean and their importance.

This is my first year celebrating Hanukkah. So just to make sure I only light and add one candle each night of Hanukkah with the main candle? Thank You.
My family celebrates each year, but its my 1st year as well... You light a candle each night, increasing the candle lights each night so by 8th day, all lights are lit. Blessings
That's right you use the Shamash to light one candle on the first night, so technically there are two candles lit the first night (the Shamash and the first one) and then the second night it's 2 + the shamash.

32 days to Hanukkah 🕎 2020!!! cant wait!!! B'H
Yessss!!!
Blessings
@@2733436 Thank you! This really Helps
That's right you use the Shamash to light one candle on the first night, so technically there are two candles lit the first night (the Shamash and the first one) and then the second night it's 2 + the shamash.
@@MyJewishMommyLife Thank You
Excuse me. If I use the menorah for a Christian celebration with all candles lighted, is it offensive for pious jews?
thank you
You sang beautifully! Happy Hanukkah! = )
