Amanda, you just amaze me. I didn't think there was another woman out there that worked like me. I am slowing down a bit at 73, I don't chop wood as much as I used to, hard on the old back. But I do mow 6 acres of land and keep the homestead running. I enjoy watching your channel. We are still on deep heat down here, so I have to water the crops and keep a close eye on them. I hope you enjoy fishing, it is so much fun. You have to do a video. I hope you catch your limit. Thank you for another video. Take care of that cut.

yes, she's doing well... she seems happy :). i think with all the guests here and her being stuck in the cabin a bit more than normal is getting her down, but fall/winter will come soon and she'll have months to run free!

Amanda, I am so happy to see that you are finally came around to fishing. I am looking forward to see a video of your first catch. I also want to see you do a bit of foraging for oysters or other shellfish around that beautiful coastline that you have up there.

i know, the Foxglove is massive :). for a weed/wildflower they're quite beautiful. the logs are quite dry now so they're not as heavy as they look :)
In my world, they are a flower. I am always happy if i can get ONE to thrive but I do live in a desert.
Hi Amanda, Its funny or I guess not about Peaches standing over you like that at night. I don't have pets anymore, but I had a cat and a dog at one time in my life. And it wasn't until I didn't have them anymore that I would have good sleeps. They were always up to something in the middle of the night hahahahah. Love your videos.🥰
i totally get that. Buttercup was the worst (haha!!) with keeping me up at night. oh my gosh she snored and she made so much noise with everything she did :) (all of that being said i still miss her terribly!). it was difficult sleeping with that beautiful hairy beast around - haha!! Peach is so stealth. she can literally get up and down from her bed and i won't even wake up. i think she's lying at my feet and when i look she's gone and i never noticed her moving.
Hey nice to see you and Peach again the Happy you will be fishing for Salmon their fun to fish. Nice that the visitor and owners son gave you some pieces good of em. You are such a hard working individual and keep the place looking awesome .thanks for sharing

she loves running out of the cabin first thing in the morning. especially when i don't put the leash on her (she only gets leased if there is someone on the property - guest, owner etc.)

yes, that was a fog horn. it was most likely a cruise ship in the fog (i couldn't see anything). lovin' your 6x6 - a wee bit jelly - haha!!
Watching that log splitter never gets old, so satisfying 😀and wee Peach settling in..ish😂
right?! you know what's funny. when i'm editing the video i find it a bit boring watching me split wood, BUT when i watch other people split wood on TH-cam i'm riveted - haha!!

Get yourself some pink and pearl Tom macs or buzz bombs or zingers used to use pink and Pearl all the time always caught salmon and they're good for cod too

I wish you would send some of that rain here it's just so hot it's 28 to 30 in my bedroom don't think we've had rain for over a month it clouded over today a little bit and sprinkled and sun was back out by 2:00 PM
wow... that heat must be brutal.
I have so much fishing tackle that I never use anymore salmon and trout probably two or three $1000 worth of trout lures lots of salmon flashers patrolling Buzzbaum's zingers bucktails you name it hoot cheese I even used to have a mold to make my own zingers and buzz bombs but I gave it away

yes, hopefully i'll catch something. if i don't i'll just keep trying :). no crabs for this girl... crab is delish, but i haven't the patience to crack and peel 30 crabs to fill my belly :). anywho... very few crabs here. there are a ton of prawn though not to far from here. i don't mind prawns, but much prefer fish :)

only just now getting some fishing gear? you've been missing out. I'm sure you'll be adding a fishing report to some future vids! a good filled knife should also be included in your fishing gear.

It's about time you got a fishing rod I have lots of them don't use them anymore now you can go out and get some fish and you can go out and jig for cod which is way better tasting the salmon whereas I'm concerned and if you got fast water currents there which I think you do you can get black seabass which are taste exactly like a ling cod but they keep better in the freezer a lot of times you can find them by just watching they bubble sometimes like hairy they flip their tails

yah, i stupidly cut it with my switchblade trimming a plant. almost took the tip of my thumb off.. so technically not a finger :)

Hi Amanda and Peach! It has been so hot here on Vancouver Island. I am mid island. Had a break today, it actually rained a little for an hour and it was a nice cool morning for picking blueberries! It would be nice to see how the wood is stacking up in the shed!
glad you got a break! this wood is all being stacked outdoors. the shed is reserved mostly for windfalls. the owner has a new stove in the house and wants to keep it free of ocean wood/salt as long as possible.

Weather here in Edinburgh is so confusing, 1day it's sunny and hot, the next day it's pouring down with rain and cold, definitely climate change...That Peach with a new harness ? Always great seeing you and your lifestyle Amanda..Hope your both good 🙂
is the same weather here. it's all topsy-turvy! i put the harness on Peach when there are other people around (owners, guests, kayakers). if she gets a bit protective of me the handle on the harness allows me to keep a really good grip on her. thanks for watching!

He was 45 years old ( heart attack ) - this isn’t supposed to happen to parents 😢💔… I hesitated to say anything on here, but aren’t we supposed to be friends in this world. I would be very interested in hearing what you eat. I figured you survived a lot on fish so I’m surprised you don’t fish. Also I have never seen a garden.
honestly i've been to busy to fish. i just decided to force myself to make the time. i am so busy here from the moment i wake to the moment i go to bed (with property chores and with my own freelance work). unfortunately gardens don't work here. everything you plant the deer eat. potatoes, onions, garlic... they eat it all. there is a greenhouse, but the owners have planted all their stuff this season so i was unable to plant anything.
@@AmandaOffGrid I can totally understand all of that. I have just wondered what you ate because I know it’s expensive to have stuff shipped/flown in and stores aren’t right there. I love watching you and Peaches. Being in the heat of Texas I don’t know if I could handle the cold but love dreaming through your videos.

hi :)! the tide was way out. we have been having extremely low tides for the last month or so. i have wanted to fish here pretty bad, but i think my lack of knowledge was stopping me. kinda dumb - haha!! i might not catch fish right away, but i'll learn :). thanks for watching!

I'm pretty sure when my husband splits firewood from logs that size he does it with the log splitter in the vertical position so he can roll them into place instead of lifting them. Aren't those heavy? They look it.
Can the owners find their island in such heavy fog?
yes... i do have a bunch that need to be split vertically. Some of the logs are white cedar and they're super dry already so they're actually quite light :). the owners boat has radar so we can move around in the fog when we need to :)
Too bad you didn't have a P o box could probably send you some of that stuff
i do (it's in the about section of my YT channel), but i don't get out there too often. i think i got everything i need though and if i don't there is a ton of stuff on the propery... you're very kind :)
