I’ve seen a sub 400 credit scores get a car loan a few years ago but the banks and lending institutions have tightened up since COVID. But the interest rates are very high on those type of loans.
I had some finance manager show me what my monthly payment at 48 months would be. Then he said “watch this” and showed me it at 72 months. The guy pretended like he did some financial wizardry. I’m thinking to myself, do I really look that dumb.
I was desperate for a car in 2017. My credit score was 482 and I was approved for a car loan.
Can I ask how ? I’m in the same situation. I’m very desperate for a car

It's hard to answer this question because every credit situation is different. Banks want someone with the ability to pay and payment history on car loans. My advice to anyone stressed out about being approved is go to the car lot with atleast $2500.00 in cash for a downpayment.

Honestly if you have a sub 400 credit score save up your damn money and buy a used car cash until you get your shit together. Getting a car loan with that score you are talking credit card interest rates on a damn car and you will pay 3x what the car was even initially worth, add to that depreciation you're getting raked over the coals.
With a score that low you have much bigger things to worry about than how fancy your car is lol. Drive something that runs and gets you from A to B
Interesting but don’t expect to get it approved thru Mercedes if your score are sub 600 , they really like to see 725++
Actually not true. There's a channel called CarEdge with a video titled: How to buy a car with bad (subprime) credit.
He mentions how he quit a previous job working at a Mercedes dealer because they were selling cars to a significant amount of people with bad credit.
Definitely subprime borrowers with double digit interest rates to compensate for the risk.
