Very nice! I've wanted to try Princess, but each time I do a like to like pricing, it seems so much more expensive than the similar Royal Caribbean trip. What am I missing?

I have had the best luck finding cheaper princess cruises in the off season and less popular locations. They tend to be a little higher than Royal because they are more of a luxury cruise line. In places like Alaska they can be a lot higher because they go to places Royal doesn’t and only limited cruise lines have access too. I typically find them similar in price when comparing them during the off season. If there is a significant difference in price it could be because one is running a special, the ship is filling up for those dates or Princess is going to areas the others don’t.

I just booked the Sun Princess with the plus package for a savings of about $1,200 over Vision of the Seas (adding in Deluxe Drink Package, Wi-Fi and gratuities) for New Year’s Eve 2024. We’ve been Loyal to Royal for many years but their recent increase in just about everything has us looking elsewhere.
