    I have had the same part from west coast saws to mod my muffler for a couple years now 😅. Eventually going to do it. My 261 has the old school tunable carb as i am old school. Thanks for the nice video. Probably going to put mine in the same place on the muffler as you did.

      It’s a pretty easy mod, not life changing but it seems like it’s able to stay in the meat of the power a little better.

    Just drill 3 3/16 holes in the front, take a few baffels out of the intake, retune and poof. The only thing you will miss out on is the sticker from west coast saws. 💪😁

      I debated that or cutting slats with a grinder, I thought this was a cleaner look so I went this route. Definitely cheaper ways to get the same results but I liked the cleaner look.

      Yeah, I’m happy with it. Not a whole lot louder which I was hoping it wouldn’t be obnoxiously loud. This one is m-tronic so it is supposed to self adjust.

    I see you have the light04 bar on there. Do you know the part # for that off hand? Looking for the light04 for my 261. Saw sounds great!

      I’m not sure of the part number, I got it on eBay. I’ll look to see if I still have the box for the part number. If I were to do it again I would get a sugihara bar, definitely better quality after having one on my 462.

    Why did you decide to place the port on the side vs. on the top like you initially thought?

    • @Outdoorsappalichia
      @Outdoorsappalichia  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It fit better on the side since it was flat. The top was tapered and had a bend, I wasn’t sure how it would work trying to bend the deflector to fit so I went with a flatter surface.

      th-cam.com/video/zrq1Ogi69js/w-d-xo.html
      Might be slightly more power but it revs out a lot faster and stays reved out a lot more in the cut which definitely cuts a bit faster. Power wise it’s honestly hard to tell a difference. You’ll be pleased with the sound, it’s deeper and slightly louder but not obnoxious which I was honestly afraid of it being too loud also but it wasn’t.

    Would removing the front two plugs not allow for free-er flowing exhaust without voiding the warranty?

    • @Outdoorsappalichia

      The saw revs out faster and is able to keep revs up when cutting. Yes warranty is voided but I wasn’t too concerned. Normally warranty work takes forever and unless it was major damage it is easier to fix it than take in to a shop and wait a month for them to fix.

    • @Outdoorsappalichia

      No real go gain, maybe very marginal but it breaths much better. Breathing better results in much faster revs and holds rpm much easier when cutting.

    • @Danomite99
      @Danomite99 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      The important piece of info missing here, is that the carb needs to be re-tuned. Yes you’ll fry you motor if you don’t richen up the fuel mixture on the HI (top end) idle and low need some tweaking also.
      Note: RPMs will climb after mod.
      With these M-tronic auto tuning carbs, there is a reset sequence you just follow after modification.
      No adjustment screws.
      #never fried a saw -ever.
