I think Ezekiel is courting Carol. In the comics he and Machione(SP?) have a thing but she is with rick now. So that opens up Ezekiel to get it on with someone else. Carol seems a likely candidate since they both play that game of putting on a face to the public which is not their true selves.

And if you've been reading you'd know that she and Ezekiel had an on and off again thing that went back and forth mainly due to Michonne also being a head case. But she always loved Ezekiel up until Ezekiel gets...... Well if you're reading you kn what happens.

The scene between Ezekiel and Carrol is probably one of my favorites in all of Walking Dead.

I don't think carol does not care, I think she cares to much, to the point she will kill anyone and anything to protect people and I think shes scared she will become pure evil even though shes doing good if that makes sense.

The whistling from the Saviors makes sense as an order from Negan. Like, I doubt anyone in the last episode enjoyed staying in their exact spots for hours, but they do as Negan wishes for some reason. In that perspective, I can see Negan just telling his army "When they come running through here, stay out of the way, but give a little whistle. Let's them know we're here. Lets the other guys know they're coming. Try and guide them back to the road with it. They're scared shitless already, so we shouldn't have any issues getting them where we want them to be."
I think Eric was overthinking that a bit. I can see how the whistling would happen organically. One guy would whistle to freak them out and then the rest would join in hearing how creepy it is. Or maybe that's what they do with everyone so it's a natural thing for them to do when they're stalking prey; they wouldn't need to be ordered to do it on command. They'd just know.
Yeah, like, it'd be something Negan would order for the first few times, then the guys would eventually do it own their own.
I don't think carol's change happened in the span of 3 days. I think it's been happening since "look at the flowers". She's been trying to leave the group since they found Gabriel.

Her motivations are the opposite of bad writing. It's realistic and subtle and shows such beautiful depth. As a PTSD sufferer, I find it rings 100% authentic.
She can't be understood by applying cold (surface level) logic. She's staved off dealing with her PTSD since the death of her daughter, compounded by the girls dying, as she had to push on to survive. Once at Alexandria, she had a minute to breathe, and found herself haunted by everything that she's lived through.
PTSD often leads sufferers to close themselves off to feelings, people, light, the world. Carol first slips behind masks to keep people from getting close to her and to protect herself.
Still, the walls close in on her, more horrible things happen, more people she cares for die...and the only way to build her cocoon (and concurrently try to help people not to worry about her) is to physically leave, to seek complete isolation.

If you listen in the episode, as they approach the clearing not everyone begins whistling straight away, it sorta spreads across the forest around the group. Would make sense that Negan just told someone to give the signal when they spotted them, and have the rest of the saviors follow
It's not only the whistling...how did they know they were leaving alexandria? and how did they know they were heading to the hilltop? Walking dead writing *sighs*

For me this is one of my favorite episodes this far. I just love music, pace and Ezekiel is al ready my favorite character. A man who genuinly embodies hope and his goofy aura with "The Kingdom" and being a "king" is brilliantly entertaining from a cynical or crazy leader. Also it kind off reminds me of a RPG game like Witcher, Dragon Age or Elder Scrolls, not the magical part but the interacting with a sympithatic leader, medieval touch and feeling that these people are on a quest.
Its one of my favourite episode! Its got a lot of hate though
I don't think that the saviors were counting down so they whistle together. Pretty sure it was just one of them whistling and the rest of the group following the people whistling. Like how people randomly clap during songs. One person does, and the rest catch on. It's not like people count down together to clap in tangent yee know?

To Eric, Hades kidnapped Persephone and brought her to the underworld to be his wife. Hades gave Persephone the pomegranate so she would be forced to live in the underworld with him, because the rule of the underworld was that once you ate there, you could not leave. Persephone had to eat it because she starving. However Persephone's mother, Demeter (Goddess of harvest) demanded that Zeus bring Persephone to earth again, so he compromised by sending Hermes to make a deal. Hades agreed to let Persephone leave for half of the year. This plays into the ancient Greek belief of how the seasons came to be. Demeter was sad for the half year that Persephone was gone, so she let the harvest die (Fall and winter) and was happy again when she returned for the other half of the year, so she granted good harvest (spring and summer). hope this helped.

Remember in the Prison in season 4, when those pigs got sick, and a major flu broke out killing a lot of the group? that might happen to negans group as well, but I doubt the writers would put that in.

The pigs King Ezekiel gave to the Saviors weren't sick... they were given to them dead. Animals are immune to the virus. It's just a fuck you sort of thing filling their bellies full of rot.
Rick dealt with the pigs everyday back at the prison. He never got sick. The people got sick from a flu outbreak. And they weren't eating pig. Just meat Daryl provided for them.
Plus it doesn't expend any more resources than necessary. Feeding pigs the zombies= costless feeding method.

Eric is thinking of the Greek myth of Persephone, the pomegranate seeds were basically used to understand the seasons.
The way I see it, Carol believes that sometimes you have to kill to protect the ones you love.
Morgan believed that all life was precious and doesn't want to kill.
So from Carol's view, if she stops caring... She can be both without going back on her belief.🤔

So here's a correction to your whistle problem. I just rewatched the episode to make sure of how wrong you are lol. Sorry but you are. Let me first say I like your channel and I'm not a troll. BUT, the whole group didn't start whistling when they were walking. It was one or two then the rest joined it. it was a signal "here they come". just like at one of the roadblocks. The second one where they didn't get out the rv. One saviour starts shooting when the rv backs up. That was signaling they're leaving. I'm sure at the next one where I like to call the "cheerleader saviours" because they look like cheerleaders doing a pyramid lol. They probably did the same thing but the camera cuts away before the rv starts backing up. So it wasn't them being like"1. 2. 3." all start whistling. stuff like this was to show how smart Negan is. You've missed the point of it. Yes it was also intimidating and scary. But it's starts with 1 or 2 whistling then the rest join in.... I also want to say about the carol thing, this woman was a former housewife and mother who's killed at least 20 people. I understand it's the apocalypse but these are still human beings. As a wife and mother myself if I killed 20 people I would be feeling some type of way about it also. Remember she killed Lizzie who was around her own daughters age, and yes she was responsible for the little boy freaking out which got him killed. She burned 2 people alive for having the flu, and then sat like a hypocrite talking to Morgan how the wolves burned people. Which I dont remember them showing the wolves burning people, so i believe they had her say that for this reason. To not have this affect her would be bad writing. Plus it does help drive the story along because of her leaving we're now brought to the kingdom. Sorry for any typos, I'm writing on my tablet and it's stupid. it's a very stupid tablet lmao. Again love your videos just sometimes you're wrong or don't see the big picture and when you do you rarely call yourself out or maybe you forget idk. I'm not putting you down just pointing out some things you may not have realized. Keep up the good work and I look forward to watching more of your videos.

regarding the whistle, you would be surprised how you can train people to hear a distinct sound. I can hear my dad's whistle in a busy, loud gym and immediately start looking for him. My cousin's husband has a similar way to grab his kids attention with his whistle. I imagine one person set off the whistle in the forest and the rest followed.
I doubt Morgan is at risk of becoming a fruitarian with his passive nature. Or a level 5 Vegan, "I don't eat anything that cast a shadow"
I ship Ezekiel and Carol lol I love him, what great casting and the CG tiger is pretty great. Loved the episode, nice break from crying tbh!
Comic Comparisons : In the comics King Ezekiel isn’t introduced until a bit later.
The conversation between Ezekiel and Carol happens between Ezekiel and Michonne in the comics Carol is long dead at this point in the comics as well as Morgan which makes this path completely unique to the show.

FallOutLA She's nothing like she was back in season 1. If Carol is anything then she's trying to find a middle ground between the two sides of her, but most just want to see her as an emotionally numb killer.

The pig thing MIGHT work but...unlike people, walkers don't really react to pain. So a wild pig will bite a human in the leg and the human might fall or be crippled by it, while a walker might not really mind and start eating the pig before the pig can kill the walker, since walkers only die through head shots. Walkers also react to loud sounds so I feel like the pigs would also be outnumbered?
For armor, I would want to wear kevlar on top of chain mail

The reason they feed the pigs walker flesh was so they gained weight and looked healthy.
I know this is a bit late, but actually I thought their comment about King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) playing D&D in real life was actually pretty funny because as a matter of fact he actually played D&D for the first time as a guest on Critical Role within the past year.
