Even if the meta reason for it is that the dev didn’t want to cross that line, the fact that trying to become a marriage with a non-consensual partner leads to an agonizing death has some really fascinating implications. The fact that it being canonically considered an irredeemably horrible act to the same Gods that are noted as being cold, cruel, and indifferent to mortal suffering should be taken as being consistent with the settings portrayal of humans being those most cruel to humans. The entire point of the first game was that the New Gods, despite being human, were far more hostile, abusive, and _downright EVIL_ towards humanity than the Old Gods ever were. How does the Gods not tolerating rape contradict that? Answer: It doesn’t. If anything, it's rather disturbing that there are players who are genuinely so mad that they can't participate in pedophilia in the game, that they try to come up with excuses for why it doesn’t make sense that they're punished for it. They completely miss the point of the first game and fail to have the realization of "wow, maybe the Old Gods punishing rape is a sign of how fucked up humans are, particularly when compared to the Old Gods that they portray as being monstrous." I don't think so, moonscorched victims usually have scarring and discolored burns all across them, neither appear on the moonless guards.Moonless guards are a marriage between moonless and regular guards, the teeth of the guard heavily imply this.
Well the guards are moonscorched in a way. I think the God of the Depths (which is the Dungeon of Fear and Hunger) has a similar monsterfication effect on people which is why we get things like the guards, night lurches and crowmauler.
Moonless guards are... Guards, and Moonless wolves. I think the worst part here is that marriages can only be performed with willing participants to my knowledge, meaning that the wolf must have been desperate enough to consent.
Is it confirmed that both participants need to be willing? Because from what I know the character just refuses to perform the marriage with an unwilling character, but a guard might not care. Is it ever stated that an unwilling marriage is impossible at all or just impossible because you're playing a character that doesn't want to?

I thought moonless guards were moonscorched and perhaps a foreshadow to what the sequel will focus on since they come out of nowhere without any explanation of what they are and you can ask about some lore about the sequel from the new gods if you come back to FH1 with knowledge from termina
I don't think so, moonscorched victims usually have scarring and discolored burns all across them, neither appear on the moonless guards.Moonless guards are a marriage between moonless and regular guards, the teeth of the guard heavily imply this.
Good point although how come the guards are allowed to become moonless and we're not allowed by sylvian 😂
Well the guards are moonscorched in a way. I think the God of the Depths (which is the Dungeon of Fear and Hunger) has a similar monsterfication effect on people which is why we get things like the guards, night lurches and crowmauler.
@@themegadude900 It's honestly kinda unfair, Sylvian pretty biased
@@Ish12 Would it be Marriageless when the player does it?

Moonless guards are... Guards, and Moonless wolves. I think the worst part here is that marriages can only be performed with willing participants to my knowledge, meaning that the wolf must have been desperate enough to consent.
Is it confirmed that both participants need to be willing? Because from what I know the character just refuses to perform the marriage with an unwilling character, but a guard might not care. Is it ever stated that an unwilling marriage is impossible at all or just impossible because you're playing a character that doesn't want to?
Or maybe the guards were the ones who consented...
Either way it's a big nope
"Beautiful marriage of flesh"
Are you Sylvian?
As someone who's never been in a relationship, yeah there are worse relationship outcomes-
That's a dark and funny way to represent the different endings of marriage. Don't just use logic alone or feeling alone for finding a partner.
Just remember: Silvian says YES to gay marriage!
Back in medieval times sodomy was still a common place
I mean, still love isn't?
Hard to believe this video introduced me to Fear and Hunger
thanks for making this vid!! theres not a lot of vids covering the marriage, its a rly interesting concept too. glad i found this!
Of course no problem, I really appreciate you watching!
Too bad if you don’t like the person cause you stuck with them forever
Ao basically dont have sex on weird ritual circles, solid advice
In cut version of termina, there is marriage between priest and child. You can also find many other marriages in termina as well

Nice video! It is atmospheric and informative! Good choice of music and animation. I would just add that Alll-mer is an ascended god and not an old god. Keep up the good work!
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching the vid, will keep in mind to draw the distinction between old and new gods in my next video 🧐
@@Ish12 If I recall correctly the idea of Ascended Gods was only introduced in Termina, the first game classifies him as an old god even if he technically isn't one

Do not marry! You will not be happy!!!
"The consultant never told me about this!"
Why?
I love how casually a sentence like "Don't fuck kids though" flies past your brain when you're learning about Fear and Hunger, it doesn't even phase you, until you go "Wait, why not though?" before this is Fear and Hunger drawing a moral line somewhere.
idk what this was about but God help us all who wacthed this
I thank the gods everyday for granting me the wisdom to never marry anyone. Most people aren’t so blessed.
For some reason i got recommend at middle of night, but the video is awesome
TH-cam's just weird like that I guess? It knows when you're most active 👁️👁️
This was my very first introduction to the game. I am both intrigued and horrified
The sex is so good in fear and hunger you become the perfect being
And those two became one flesh...
Didnt knew the God can make a joke
Sounds like that alchemical bond between a man and a woman
The marriage in the thicket is actually sir Seymour and buckman, and they only appear in the thicket if you exhaust their dialog before saving the other members of their party
Epic videos brother. always been interested in fear and hunger
How interesting! This information will not impact my already deep distrust of marriage and dislike for commited relationships at all

Wait, what if all the insane monsters in the game.. the guards, the harvestman and all, they were once humans that did marriage and it turned them into... monsters?
Are not we gonna talk about the fact that Ser Seymour and the Buckham prince tried to perform a marriage and it completely failed?
You think "how weird and creepy can it be ill try it" lol
Looks like the devs has a fascination with Mary Shelley.
I will show this to every girl complaning about facials
This is just a Game 😂
It got it's own ecosystem down there in the dungeon.
Still not the worst thing that could come from a marriage, it's child support~
Not death of the spouse after attempting to become parents?
Or being abandoned to live in poverty with your children by your spouse after sacrificing your physical health and mind?
Or the accidental death of the child caused by the parents?Like the father who shot his 6 year old daughter in the kitchen after thinking she was an intruder.
@@melonsauce1474i really dont get it what u mean by that
BTW I take anti depressants every day and have no problem ejaculating. In fact my libido is a little too strong sometimes. I guess the author has some mental problems but fears being less of a man if he takes anti depressant medication. Don't worry, I had a similar fear with it dulling my intellect and making me a vegetable, there's not much to worry about. If you really struggle you should talk to your doctor about it, they can refer you to a mental health expert.
There is one problem with anti depressants and that is that you have to find one that works for you. There are many types and there is no way to know if they will help you other than trying under a psychiatrists watch.
Hey! Good for you, all the more power to you if it helps out! I just wanted to poke fun at the joke of medications curing one problem by creating several others. I do understand that these medications can be extremely helpful to anyone going through tough times, and you're completely right about needing to consult a psychiatrist before and during the taking of these medications. I feel like they just hand them out just like that these days 😮💨. So just wanted to clarify, I meant no harm by that joke and I apologize if it was taken the wrong way. Have a beautiful day!
@@Ish12 I don't agree with the sentiment of medication being there just to create problems sometimes, but we don't need to adjudicate any of that.
I appreciate your reply. I thought I was gonna get dogpiled by a toxic community. It's refreshing seeing someone who thinks about what they said, instead of just blindly doubling down.
