Coffee does indeed taste different in different cup or mugs. I’ve tested it. I have my favorite mugs at home.
I don't really care what I'm drinking it out of, but I'm starting to realize the process is half the fun. Prepping the maker, choosing the cup (in which I also decide what amount and even how wide it is for aroma, cooling, and/or mixing), choosing how strong I want it... wow, I always just thought it was just the smell and taste of coffee that was the experience!
Though I totally agree now, the material of the mug is almost as important as how you make it! Porcelain or whatever mugs are made of is definitely the best, cardboard is only good for buying it to go.

Charles, you can still get better travel mugs. There's an infinite variety for those for style, material, etc, but my favorite came with my current coffee machine, and has literally kept coffee scalding hot for over 10 hours before! It's perfectly airtight.

I used to work for the Starbucks and 100% Starbucks coffee is overrated... there are so many other coffee chains out there that brew better coffee for a fraction of the price.

They kind of Americanize the Italian espresso. Also, I think their main problem is they over roast their beans, so it tastes burnt. If they roasted the majority (dark roast) of their beans better, their coffee would be decent.
Grace Sum agreed. I don't know what other states La Colombe coffee is available in but if you ever come acrossed it, definitely give them a try. I think they make the best coffee. I know you can order it online

My favorite thing is to buy a fancy, expensive large drink like a white mocha, then bring it back home and use it as a creamer for regular coffee!
It's great! It lasts longer, often a full pot of coffee, and still tastes like a good mocha!
It's also not so overpoweringly sweet, like many of those drinks tend to be.

Starbucks is disgusting. The best coffee almost always comes from a tiny place. Timbuktu has amazing coffee when the wife makes it, and Cafe De Lisio by my house deserve all the praise in the world.
I think Starbuck's got famous for their sugared up, overpriced, nasty drinks. Their "coffee" is horrendous. I would never step foot in a Starbuck's for personal reasons, other than the horrid coffee.
